GA Boy is back ladies and gents! I guess we deserve all the "overhyped" talk and predictions of "trouncing" (nice TE) and not making the SEC championship game. We have had great talent for years as shown by the best record in the SEC over the last 11 years. What do we have to show for it? 2 SEC championships. Now I am very happy to have those, don't get me wrong, but it is time to win the big one. If we don't do it this year, I am going to call us Phil Mickelson. The best team in college football not to win a NC in recent history. Really though, I am going to sit back, enjoy the season--starting with a drunken afternoon in Athens tomorrow watching UGA VII take his place in the history books and hopefully ending with a trip to South Florida in January. I could get into all the details about the O Line worries, the defense that is going to be outstanding, a special teams possible nightmare OR wet dream with Blair Walsh and his bionic leg, and two guys that are poised to be the best in the nation or the biggest letdown in years. I won't do that because my homerism will come out. I am just glad they kick it off between the hedges tomorrow and I once again have the pleasure of spending the afternoon with my daughter in the best place in world. Athens GA on Saturday. Let's hear it for college football boys!

LSU has no chance at getting back to the SEC championship let alone the BCS. Lost way way too much talent on both offense and defense. You'll be lucky to get out with 3 losses.

I'm bitter at Michigan's coaching staff not preparing a stacked michigan offense for the season. Injuries, bad play-calling and game mismanagement ruined Michigan's season last year. I give kudos to App. State, they are certainly a team that can compete in D1.

The Capital One bowl game was a vision of what could have been.

There is a lot to say about RR's regime training slimming down our players and i have no doubt the Wolverines will come out and surprise a lot of critics. Remember, Michigan's offense still has 4 and 5 star recruits starting. And the defense is returning 7 starters. I expect Michigan to crack the top 15 by the years end.

My definition of "weak" for Auburn's schedule is skewed. A "weak" SEC schedule is still better than 75% of other schools schedules.

Sorry, they dont have a "weak" schedule..but a weak schedule for SEC standards. One lose(if its early and to a ranked team) will still get you to the BCS game if you win the SEC.

He didnt change a thing from RR's playbook, thats why he won vs OK. He will no doubt do things his way and lose 2-3 games.

I admit Ciron Black and Herman Johnson are very good at the line, they're probably two of the best SEC O-linemen. I would also say LSU most likely- can't say yes because the season hasn't begun- do in fact have the best O-line in the SEC. However I would argue that LSU doesn't have the best O-line in the nation, but instead Oklahoma does. Oklahoma has two sure-thing NFL starters in Duke Robinson, Phil Loadholt, and Brandon Walker. Furthermore they have all Big 12 starter Jon Cooper playing center. Not to mention the Fact that the whole line is comprised of returning seniors, and a 2nd and 3rd string that yield a lot of depth. Oklahoma had the best O-line last year and they will have the best front 5 this year.

Naw, Naw, ya got it all wrong. Marko's still bitter about his boyz having lost to Appy St in the opener last year. Despite the way they finished, he knows pickins iz gonna be slim this year, wat wid a new coach an only 10 stahtahz retoining.

The good news for Marko is there's light at the end of the tunnel. RR will have the Wolverines firing on all cylinders before long. Next year, things will be much better; they may even beat OSU. For now, he's just gotta get over last year. It wuz kerAAAzeee. This year may even be crazier. For all I know the NC will consist of ECU & Utah. I don't think that would be bad, by the way, just different. And here comes the best part: It begins in less than 5 days.

LSU is good enough to go back to the NC game. They have a good o-line and a great defense.All the QB'S have to do is manage the games good enough. LSU is good enough to go back, i just wonder who can even compete with them. Surely not OSU, not after last year, USC, i doubt it because they're not as good as hyped up to be, as for GEORGIA, they won't even make the SEC championship game. For all the rest, OKLAHOMA, WEST VIRGINIA, CLEMSON, and AUBURN, they probably won't even be in the top 5 in the end. . TIGERS ROLLIN BACK N BACK

When your starting left tackle (Phil Loadholdt) originally commits to LSU, only to decommit and go to OU, simply because he realizes that Ciron Black's a 1st round draft pick waiting to happen, then I'd say, welllllllll....maybe...

Then, you realize that we have four of five starters coming back for their 3 year at their positions, with both backups also returning for their 2nd years, who can play all three positions on the line (one of whom is a former all-conference performer). I start to think, perhaps...

Then you realize that Ciron Black & Herman Johnson weight are a combined 13' tall and over 700 pounds, and I say, yeah, without a doubt...

There is no OL in the SEC with more combined starts than LSU. We had over 6,000 yards of total offense last year, almost 3,000 of which came on the ground.

We have road pavers...and future NFL linchpins...

Oh, and on top of that, our future starting left tackle, Jarvis Jones, just signed with you guys after being dismissed for loving pot a little too much while in Baton Rouge...He'll start every year he's eligible for you guys after this one...He's supremely talented, and was a shoo-in to letter this year as a RSFr...He's that good...

In other words, you guys are using a shotgun spread offense, which means your line isn't really asked to protect the quarterback, nor to create a true rushing attack at any time that's not based off the threat of the pass. You aren't holding blocks, nor facing legitimate pass rushing threats in a spread where the QB's already at 7-step drop distance almost two counts faster than a traditional drop back passer.

That's a huge edge to an offensive line...and its much easier to protect and work as a unit under those circumstances.

LSU will go spread, we'll go jumbo, we'll go spread option, we'll go no huddle (Remember that I mentioned that...;-), we'll go I, we'll go Power I, we'll go no back, one back, etc...

UF is a perfect example of Crowton's formation diversity...

Our offensive line is disciplined and excels at many different types of blocking schemes and techniques...Our OL Coach, Greg Strudrawa is to be commended for the technique upgrade we witnessed last year...Stacy Searles (now at UGA) is a great guy and all, but his hallmark was inconsistent line play, and his blocking schemes were at odds with Miles' & Jimbo FIsher's, on a weekly basis...Which is part of the reason he's no longer here.

So, in essence, you have two guys that will be your left tackles for about a six year period that were either afraid of or couldn't cut it from a disciplinarian standpoint at LSU...Enjoy them...We've got more where those kids came from...

In answer to your question, though (I apologize for the long-windedness...I've had some Japanese Asahi beer or three tonight)..Yes...I definitely believe we're far better than OU's line...

LSU is good enough to go back with their o-line and good defense. All the QB'S have to do is manage the game good and they'll be fine. LSU has a very good team that can go back to back NC. I just wonder who can beat them in the NC game, not OSU for sure, not USC their not as good as hyped up to be. I don't think GEORGIA will even get to the SEC championship game! All the others such as OKLAHOMA, WEST VIRGINIA, CLEMSON, AUBURN, MISSOURI probably will not even be top 5 in the end.

I have developed a theory about Les...and its so retrograde in terms of what the common fan around CFB thinks...

He's a master at disinformation...I mean, he really reminds one of "Mother" from the Good Sheperd, the character played by Matt Damon...

I'm never going to predict an undefeated season, but our biggest complaint last year was non rotation of a ridiculously talented DL (That's even more talented this year, though most will discount it), and a puzzling "calling off" of the dogs in base pressure situations...We only sent secondary blitzes the 2nd half of the year...

We have more depth at corner, and we have a HUGE upgrade in speed at linebacker with the departure of Highsmith (himself an All-American), and our Defensive Line is going to be the best in America for the 3rd year in a row...We have no less than 8 guys that are All-Conference players, and no less than 4 of them that are going to be drafted next April (RJF could be a Top 5 pick if he plays as I think he will, Tyson Jackson's a shoo in, as is Kirston Pittman, as is Tremaine Johnson)...AT ONE POSITION on defense!

In other words, we are going to improve on D, and we already lead the conference in rushing D allowed, AFTER we gave up 285 to Arkansas to close out the year! Imagine that?

On offense, I have seen some things that lead me to believe we will actually improve there, as well. We'll have addition by subtraction at the tailback spot with Hester's departure, as every one of the 3 returners in Charles Scott, Keiland Wililams, and Richard Murphy averaged over 6.0 ypc last year.

Our offensive line is the best in America. We return 3 starters and six letterman, and the Center, LG, & LT have 2 draft picks and two years of starting experience returning for the 3rd...

LSU ran for 2,998 yards last year...We threw for slightly more than 3,100.

Our wideouts got a year better, and we lost Early Doucet, who was hobbled during the stretch run of Florida, Auburn, Kentucky, & Bama (for the most part) with a bad groin...We brought EVERYONE else back.

I just don't see anything but improvement out of our offense...and our new guy (or guys, if you believe Les in the early part of the year) are going to throw some new wrinkles in...

I wouldn't say we go undefeated, as Jordan Hare's going to be a war...But, if we make it out of there with a W, we TROUNCE UGA at home, and UF is our only real obstacle this year, though USC & 'Bama will be competitive games...

My goal and wish this year is double digit wins and a trip to Atlanta...I can see us anywhere from 9-3 to 11-1...

We've had a quarterback for awhile now...

The Hat plays it close to the vest, mon frere...

But, we've got a QB that can make every throw in the book, and we've got some offensive sets with him that will blow your mind...

Floater Hatch will get the starts early in the year, but by the time we leave Jordan Hare, we'll have a MUTHA of a young QB...

Rejoice...Because NOBODY knows its coming, either...

Although i would agree that AU has a chance to get to the title game i can hardly see how you could say weak schedule.
We do get most of our tougher games at home and that should be an advantage but we play 3 of YOUR top ten. Not to mention Tennesse,Alabama,Miss State,And if we win west and Florida wins East we get to face them too.

You may want to reconsider your definition of weak.
