Word out of Norman is that Oklahoma Sooners might be adding the Brigham Young Cougars to their 2009 schedule. The game will be played at the Dallas Cowboys new stadium. Oklahoma will be the "home" team. That 2009 schedule is looking pretty good!

I think Florida wins out the regular season, the SEC championship, and gets back into the NC Game against...Penn State.

USC hasn't played anyone yet...I mean unless you count Oregon State who lost to PSU 45-14.
I honestly don't think USC is all that tough. Year after year, here they are, still in the top 10. I'm a PSU fan but must say the SEC is a MONSTER, all the teams are good...even the bad ones. Big XII all O and no D. What football fan likes to see 62-58 games anyway. Big 10(Ohio State killed it for years to come). Pac 10...absolutely horrible. USC watch out for CAL

Glad to see you're confidence in the Gators is back on track; but I don't think we're getting douched at all. Everyone ahead of us is undefeated. We're atop the 1 loss pile in AP, and only Texas is ahead of us in BCS--and their lead won't hold up, if we win out. Our situation is much better than I expected at this stage in the season.

In any event, the NC picture will sort itself out one way or the other; and all the Gators can do is win out, then hope for the best.

At this point, I'd just like the Gators to win another SEC championship.

That goes both ways--(both points of your post). There's a lot of mutual respect between both programs, a healthy degree of mutual animosity, and a healthy amount of history in the SEC CG between the 2.

UF and UA have met 5 times, with UF holding lead of 3-2. UF has actually been to the chapionship game total 8x, with record of 6-2 (6-1 in ATL--that's why I call it our "swamp away from the Swamp"), while 'bama has appeared 5 times, with record of 2-3. One of its wins though, was in Birmingham-v. UF (the first one))--so their record in ATL is 1-3. But they did win the most recent meeting, in '99--our only loss in Atlanta....

...looking forward to avenging that one!

The scenario under discussion is a three way tie with Texas, Texas Tech and Oklahoma or Oklahoma State, three teams with 7-1 conference records.

1) All are 1-1 against each other
2) All three would be 4-1 in the division
3) All records vs each opponent would be idendical
4) See #3

This only happens if Texas, Texas Tech, and the winner of Oklahoma-Oklahoma State game win the remainder of their games and the Oklahoma-Oklahoma State winner beats Texas Tech.

If games between these four teams are treated like coin flips and other gaems are given an 85% chance one gets this situation has a probability of about 22%, not bad compared to some of the BCS scenarios out there.

TEXAS CLEARLY HAS NO DEFENSE
FLORIDA LOST TO OLD MISS AN UNRANKED HORRIBLE TEAM
TEXAS TECH LOOKED GOOD BUT WON AGAINST AN OFFENSE ONLY TEAM
PENN STATE HAS NOT PLAYED ANYBODY WITH A DECENT DEFENSE
USC WOULD WIPE THEM OUT
OHIO STATE WAS BLOWN OUT BY USC AND ARE DONE
ONCE AGAIN ONE LOSS TEAMS LIKE USC AND FLORIDA WILL BLOW OUT OPPONENTS IN INSIGNIFICANT GAMES
USC HAS THE NUMBER ONE DEFENSE IN THE COUNTRY PERIOD AND HAPPEN TO BE IN A VERY WEAK CONFERENCE
NO SEC TEAM WOULD WANT TO FACE A USC DEFENSE RIGHT NOW
IT REALLY IS A SHAME THAT WE DONT HAVE PLAYOFFS

Not that it matters but I belive Alabama has won 3 of the last 4 times we've played against the gators.And I cant say we were picked to win any of those games.

i believe you're incorrect in your "what we [apparently] learned last year."

two loss SEC champ did go to the n.c. game, but if you remember correctly a 1 loss USC would have gone had they not stumbled a second time over their own feet.

Miss loss doesn't change the fact that as of this week, UF is playing better ball than ANYBODY...

If anyhting we learned last year that a TWO LOSS SEC champ has more credence than any other one loss conference champ...

Most definately (he would be a good hire. ) He's the most intense defensive coordinator in college football in my opinion. I would love to see him leave Texas.

I agree. My problem is that I didn't post all of the details which I should of, but at the same time I was going straight to step 5 in regards to the the 3 way tie breaker.

Exactly. So if Texas Tech beats Oklahoma State but then loses to OU, and then say if OU beats Okie State, but Texas wins out as well, their will be a three way tie, which would lead to step 5.

Tie Breakers 1-4 don't matter, so it would fall to #5.

Texas Tech would fall, so it would come down to Oklahoma and Texas. The polls are more forgiving to earlier losses so Oklahoma could jump Texas with a win over Oklahoma State and Texas Tech. OOC could be a factor, as Oklahoma also beat TCU, who could be in the top 15, even with a loss to Utah.

Then the SEC and Big 10 play another NCG.

That's your prerogative, and I agree that you have a very logical argument. Which is again, why I hate these discussions, because nobody is on the same page.

Let's put it this way. I'd rank it the same way if OSU were in the position Florida is in right now.

Gator Hip, I do believe the Gators can run the table right now, and (IF) that be the case. I think that they will play for the NC. That will mean that Bama will lose to Gators in the SEC Playoff. I believe Oklahoma will take care Texas Tech. I think Penn State is home free in going undefeated. They should be the lone undefeated team, by season ends.
