It gave Florida an excellent chance of makin' this N.C. run, that's for sure. I think Florida is definitely the best college football team in the country this year. But, they must remain focused because Ole Miss came right on in and beat the mighty powerful Florida Gators right in their own house 'in the Swamp'; and we (L.S.U.) HAD TO PLAY THEM the following week. That was the worst time to have to play them (In the Swamp, where Florida losing 2 in a row is next to impossible; Well, we got creamed 51-21 ........ and that really, really hurt me and the rest of the Tiger faithful, for sure!). Nevertheless, sometimes, we do have to have something bad happen for good things to start happening, such as Ole Miss BEATING Florida in their own back yard. That was a good thing for Florida because it made them focus every down, every play, every minute of each subsequent game (EACH GAME AFTER THE OLE MISS GAME, THIAT IS). Now, if they can just keep that same focus, THE FLORIDA GATORS WILL DEFINITELY BE the 2008 National Champions, for sure.

That will, then, make Florida and L.S.U. the only two teams in the country with 2 B.C.S. National Championships. Right on ........ S.E.C.!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: 2008 - Week 12 College Football Polls

J.B., Thanks, I"m glad womeone likes my thoughts on these posts. I guess, really, T.E. and his friend, Bama_Babe, are the only ones to really voice their bad feelings towards what I think. Being a Bama fan, I can sort of understand Bama_Babe for not liking what I say because I don't like Bama and I tell the truth of what I think will happen in the Florida vs. Alabama game. Florida ..... and if Florida plays the way they've been playing, Alabama can play their very best & Florida will still beat them by 2 or more T.D.'s Well anyway, thanks for the compliment!!!!!! Geaux Tigers!!!!!!!!!!! Now, we need Lee to really improve starting this Saturday vs. Ole Miss ....... and to get nothing but better ......and better.......and better ...... as I know he can and he probably will. I think that he'll eventually be one of the best myself, if he sticks with it, that is ...... as I had said. Well, thanks once again J.B.

Re: 2008 - Week 12 College Football Polls

Thanks Ron
We have some bright orange- I'll holler at ya
when we get back
Leaving Friday morn as soon as I get my Chev out of the shop back late Sun Nite

Re: 2008 - Week 12 College Football Polls

Well said, my friend
Geuax Tigers!!!
FUSC

Re: 2008 - Week 12 College Football Polls

I'll make one comment while I look to log in. All you dumbq$$es that think that any team in the SEC or the BIG 12 have easy schedules is easy or mediocre... You are wrong! If you play in the SEC or BIG 12, you have very hard schedules! Having one or two good team, I.E. ACC or Pac 10, where there are only one or two teams that are good??? The SEC and the BIG 12 are the good teams! Jealous, yeah! USC is a used to be! The SEC or the BIG 12 will will the BC! Period! Roll Tide! (I think FL is the best team in the nation BTW.)

Re: 2008 - Week 12 College Football Polls

I'm trying to log on here, but can't seem to find it. Maybe, as a freshman, you, yourself, may not need any experience. That would make you very few and far between. Most young players just need experience; and improvement for Lee (I believe), improvement is really inevitable. It will come ...... improvement is fast tor few ....... and experience is slow for many. I just hope it's sort of fast for Lee ...... with it coming this Saturday vs. Ole Miss. We'll need him to improve to win. But, it just depends on each individual athlete and his true grit to succeed, his own persistence to succeed, his character is very important, and his dedication to overcome his faults (Namely pick 6's & Int's, in general). I believe in him that he will get better; and I hope it'll be this Saturday night. Against Ole Miss., we'll need him to not throw any pick 6's, though, and to be brilliant like he has been at various (particular) times ........ only more consistantly consistant. Ole Miss can have the word 'consistent' to even describe them. They're 'consistentlyinconsistant', sort of like the true freshman, Lee is rigeed Ole Miss to be bad inconsistant to have a chance this week unless Lee happens to start coming into his own ......so-to-speak....... this week vs. the Rebels!!!!!!! Geaux Tigers!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: 2008 - Week 12 College Football Polls

Man! .......... You're right on ...... Stafford did throw allot of Int's; and Alabama fans don't have memories like elephants like they should. But, they do have S.E.L.E.C.T.I.V.E. M.E.M.O.R.I.E.S. John parker Wilson threw alot his freshman, sophomore, and junior years. In fact, he threw, I believe a pick 6 vs. Miss. State just last year and Miss. St. beat them. In fact, Mississippi State beat them the last two years in a row!!!!!!!!! I can't remember when L.S.U. even lost to Mississippi State 1 time, much less 2 times in a row. Both, John Parker Wilson and Stafford have had their share of difficulties, that's for sure. They have no reason to make fun of Lee, even though, as a Tiger fan, it's pretty frustrating. I guess we are going through what Georgia and Alabama has had to go through with Stafford and Wilson, respectively (In that order, in other words). Nonethelss, like you, I hope Lee's bright future starts this Saturday vs. Ole Miss. I think, eventually that he's gonna be one of the best there is, in fact ............. if he sticks with it ....... that is. Geaux Tigers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: 2008 - Week 12 College Football Polls

I agree.....i know that when he matures, he will be very good! I agree that this week (and next week vs. Ark) are key to his developement. And, if i remember correctly, Matt Stafford threw 15 INT's his first year as the starter in Athens, and look where he is now! So, i agree the future looks bright. Geaux Tigers!

Re: 2008 - Week 12 College Football Polls

Hey Man, I'm a true Longhorn and I was at the Texas?Texas Tech game and have
no love for Texas Tech. They dominated the first half & much of the third
quarter and we were behind by at least 21 points most of the game. That
wasn't luck. We finally put it together and went in front with 1:29 left in
the fourth quarter. We should have won the game but made too many mistakes
in the last 1:29 and they scored a TD with one second on the clock. We play
Tech every year, don't make the mistake that they are the same old Tech from
the past.
I was also in Dallas for the Texas/O.U. game & their pass defense is not
good. Texas clearly was the best team on that day.
I did not say they are the best team in the country, they are simply one
team you don't want to have to play to reach a championship. I think the Big
12 South is the strongest in the country & Texas Tech is still undefeated,
sure they could lose to Oklahoma in Norman Oklahoma but I doubt that Bob
Stoops has slept much this week.
Tech has the right talent to fit their system, that's why they win. USC
every year has more individual talent than most but when it doesn't fit you
have a down year. Again, I think Florida has more talent on both sides of
the ball and may be the best team in the country. I also believe that Texas,
TexasTech & Oklahoma should rank in the top five.

Re: 2008 - Week 12 College Football Polls

elgrandelobo:

I'll go with what you got. But, please, one lucky win over Texas don't mean jack to me. You forgot what happened to Texas Tech last time they played USC. I think that it was 55-7 or something like that. Bowl game when we sucked. Didn't much matter. They caught a Cal team that had just been smooth ripped off by the BCS. That team was very disappointed even playing Texas Tech. Like I said - Texas Tech does not have enough talent. If Oklahoma don't roll these guys up - I'm gonna be shocked. It's very tough for anybody to go unbeaten. Texas just had their off game against these guys. And, then they got a "miracle" play at the end. They aren't even close to being the best team in the country. You guys are all gonna find that out real soon.

Re: 2008 - Week 12 College Football Polls

Tomcat:

Now you know damn well we'd have Harrell on his azz all game long. There wouldn't be a single receiver open all game long. It wouldn't even be a game. What would these guys be able to do against this defense? Run the ball? Don't think so. Look it up. Tell me who has the most overwhelming pass defense in the country? Any ideas?

Re: 2008 - Week 12 College Football Polls

Yeah, his mistakes are unbelievable right now ....... and I surely hope we see major improvement this week vs. Ole Miss. Ole Miss is good. We'll definitely need Lee to play much better with no pick 6's. I think that he'll get there. I just hope it's this week. He's brilliant when he's on, but when he's off, he's probably the worst QB in the nation. I hope this week is the week we see no pick 6's and to see just how good Lee is gonna be because he's gonna be really good when he matures. But, I hope that major part of his maturity is this week, though. We do have Jefferson (Jordan), but he does not have enough experience. Lee does .... and he's exposed himself to extreme scrutiny all across the football world, esecially by us die hard Tiger fans. Lee has extreme pressure on him now ..... and he's earned it too with all of his pick 6's. But, he's gonna have to work out of it and get some confidence because if he doesn't, Tiger fans are gonna continue to really criticize. Nonetheless, he's really all that we have right now. We just need to pull for him and hope that he doesn't throw any more pick 6's (or no interceptions at all). I think he need to improve this Saturday vs. Ole Miss, nevertheless. Geaux Tigers!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: 2008 - Week 12 College Football Polls

Point well made, T.E. I totally agree with ya. They almost let Georgia come from 31 down at halftime, only for Georgia to lose by a very respectable final score. A champion would have the knockout blow, and Florida surely did vs. Georgia (49-10). Vanderbilt is better than Mississippi State and Vandy was even ranked in the top 15 in the nation at one point. Mississippi State has only won 3 games. Vandy was 6-0 (at least) at one time. South Carolina, again, is no Auburn, or visa versa (comparing is arduous here). South Carolina, by the way, was ranked # 24 when they got whipped even worse than we (L.S.U.) did. We beat South Carolina 24-17 and we beat Auburn 26-21, but Auburn is not in the top 25 as South Carolina was as late as their whippin' by Florida 56-6. So, even if one wants to call them even based on the L.S.U. game, Alabama should be able to beat Auburn November 29th similar to the 56-6 whippin' Florida put on South Carolina.

Consequently, all of Florida's pastings came in anger after being what most people would say totally embarrassed in The Swamp 31-30; and unfortunately, we (L.S.U.) had to play Florida the following week at The Swamp. Florida hasn't lost too many games at the Swamp and I don't think that they've lost 2 in a row there in 10 to 15 years. So, when Florida beat their oponents, it came after being humilitated in their house; and they're still angry with Tebow leading the way ....... and, as Tebow always says, "God bless". I predict Florida over Florida State, then Florida over Alabama and it shouldn't be close if they're still angry and focused after being totally humiliated in The Swamp. Alabama should beat Auburn, but ya never can tell in that intrastate rivalry, no matters who is favored. This is Auburn's own personal National Championship (At least, State Championship, for real).

Re: 2008 - Week 12 College Football Polls

Agreed, young lady.

Re: 2008 - Week 12 College Football Polls

Yea...his mistakes are unbelievable!!!!! We alternate the other 5 teams from the East (Somehow, they pick 2 of the other 5 teams and alternate them every few years). We play everyone from the West (We're in the West, of course) every year and we play 3 teams from the East (One of them always being Florida for L.S.U. anyway); Alabama didn't have to play Florida during the regular S.E.C season. They played Tennessee instead; and yeah ..... we're gonna have our hands full this Saturday afternoon against the Rebels. We'll have to play those suckers every year too, and I definitely agree that they'll be very good next year too. I just hope his improvement takes a huge step forward this Saturday afternoon against Ole Miss. Lee has got alot of potential. I think that he stops focusing on what is at hand (just stops his concentration or something). In the S.E.C., especially, the QB has to maintain focus because the S.E.C. has so much speed on defense as well as offense; and before he gets it to his receivers, one of those quick linebackers or cornerbacks picks it off. Sometimes, ya just don't know where in the h........ he's throwing to ...... like the pick 6 he threw in the Bama game (Way overthrown). Later ......

Re: 2008 - Week 12 College Football Polls

I totally agree with ya, T.E. because Ole Miss is a very, very good football team; and that's a real understatement. We better be playing our ..... Bryant only bothered me when I was young. Bryant doesn't affect me anymore, nor does Saban. Saban has a right to be where he wants to be. I have no hard feelings at all concerning what he thought was best for him and his family. Like I said, I was young when Bryant put that bad taste in my mouth concerning Alabama. L.S.U. just couldn't beat them when he was coach, that's all. However, him not coaching (May he rest in peace?) doesn't change my opinion about the Crimson Tide. I still don't like them & it has nothing to do with Nick Saban's departure from Baton Rouge either. Oh ........ I think Saban is the finest coach & definitely equal to or better than Paterno (Penn State), Bobby Bowden (Florida State), John McKay (U.S.C's really successful coach a few years ago), Jimmy Johnson (Miami), Darrel Royal (Texas), Frank Broyles (Arkansas), Steve Spurrier (Florida & now South Carolina), Barry Switzer (Oklahoma), and any other coach that has ever coached college football. We'll certainly miss Saban at L.S.U., even though many other Tiger fans would probably throw stones (so-to-speak; not literally) at him if he came close to Tiger Stadium again. He did have extra security at the last game because of many L.S.U. fans have hard feelings. But, me personally, I wish him all the luck in the world. I just hope that he doesn't dominate us like the Bear did during his tenure there (how long; that remains to be seen?); or we're in deep trouble. Saban is the greatest college coach of all time, no doubt. But, because of him leaving us at L.S.U., I, personally don't hold anything against him; and like I've said 2 or 3 times, he's probably the greatest coach in college football history. Later ......... and have a good day.
