How the hell does Florida get jumped in the USA by Texas????

Lets see, Texas beats one of the worst defensive teams in the nation 49-9

Florida beats a ranked FSU squad 45-15 on the rod and UF drops in the coaches poll

How skewed is that? Guess they are trying to shake up the BCS?
  • Corey · 1 year ago
I have two words for you genius. "Ole Miss".. Do you understand that your broke ass sec team lost to an unranked opponent. Texas lost to tech then number 4 in Lubbock on a last second prayer.
  • Ramblin' Gator · 1 year ago
Yeah, you're right Corey. Texas loses to TT 4 weeks ago on a last second prayer and the coaches vote them up two spots 4 weeks later. That explains everything.
  • Bevo_Boy · 1 year ago
    LOL. Elementary, my dear Watson...
  • Mr2Bits · 1 year ago
Broke ass? You have got to be kidding me. You must have had too much Nattie light at your frat party last night.

Don't come on here and try to sling your garbage without backing it up. Where is your argument to my comment of how Texas plays some beat up A&M squad and moves up? Nothing, because you know it should not have happened. What did Texas prove to move up? That would be like UF fans bit*&ing that UF didn't jump up for beating Citadel.

Do you not understand that Tech handled Texas throughout the game and you deserved to lose? Last second or not, it's the same scenario that happened to Florida. Florida lost on a blocked extra point to a now top 25 team from Ole Miss, so what. It's all about how the teams are playing RIGHT NOW and OU is playing better ball than Texas and you damn well know it. Why don't you save face and go make some more 45-35 signs to campaign for getting your ass handed to you.

All you damn Texas fans just come out of the woodwork. Do you see OU fans crying for entitlement….no
  • Clemson_Joe · 1 year ago
"Do you see OU fans crying for entitlement….no"

Why would they cry for entitlement? They're getting it already. Theirs is the team that beat Oklahoma head to head, yet won't win the division over them.
  • CollegeFanatic14 · 1 year ago
Look DUde....If you wanna CRY CRY CRY "head to head" why doesnt Texas Tech get to go to the championship?...Just because they lost last?! gimme a freakin break. if you argue the "whoever most recently lost" then OU wins there too anyway cause OU just COMPLETELY DEMOLISHED Tech, 42-7 AT HALFTIME for christ sake!.....who JUST RECENTLY beat Texas. WHO IS PLAYIN BETTER RIGHT NOW? .....come on dude....the lowest amount of points OU has scored all year is 35!!!! 35!!!!!!for christ sake!.....and they would score 80 points EVERY SINGLE GAME if Sam Bradford would play more than 30 seconds in the 45th quarter.... OU is a MUCH better team.....Two different calls in that game and OU wins easily (CLEAR interception in the endzone, bad bad bad penalty)......WHO HAS TEXAS PLAYED ALL YEar out of conference?...NOBODY!!!!!!....if you really want to win and go to the title game....schedule some freakin decent teams!!!!!!! JESUS!!!!

the bottom line is it is what it is and OU is gonna go and smoke Missourri 65 to 14 or whatever and then they are gonna play in a shootout with Florida where it will come down to the last team with the ball.....it is the BEST GAME YOU COULD HAVE...TEXAS would get absolutely SMOKED
  • Corey · 1 year ago
Look you idiot. Oklahoma beat Tech in Norman where they are 61-2 under Bob Stoops. Who cares about who is playin better now? If you want to be the best play like it all year long. 45-35 do you get that score??? On a nuetral filed. Texas has the best D in the big 12, and lost in fuckin Lubbock. Oklahoma can't even win a bowl game. Do we need to get Boise St. to show you guys how to win a big game?? O.U is 0-4 in there last 4 bowl games. Who wants to see them go get blown out by Florida who has yet to beat a good team. By the way Tech is 7 in the bcs thats why they don't deserve to go.

oh so arkansas is nobody? they beat lsu yesterday. if you want to talk scores, then ou really loses that too' since Okie state hung 41 on their D...OU is gonna shootout with florida? with what defense? In miami? gimme a freakin break. yea OU will smoke mizzou, but texas beat both of them..then OUs defense gets exposed again becuse they ain't stoppin florida...florida's defense is too fast for OU, like the traditional sec defense, they will get their D gameplan from the texas ou gamefilms...........and better right now ? so what! a champion should represent a whole season, not just november...my guess is texas actually ends up 12-1 and ou ends up12-2 and we will see who is ranked higher at the end of it all' where it really counts-----note that ryan reynolds backup that was playing so well in his place got hurt last night ......and i don't think you should be saying texas would get smoked, because we will never know will we? if ifs and buts were candy and nuts what a merry christmas we would all have...thats just ignorant...i know, why don't you try to steal lee corso's job? your predictions are about as far fetched.....if you think about it USCs defense against floridas offense is the best game we could have ..at least i'm honest
  • Bobby · 1 year ago
yes, arkansas is nobody. Am I supposed to be impressed that they beat LSU? They are both horrible teams. Arkansas doesn't all of the sudden get better becuase tex beat them. I didn't hear anybody talking about how great Arkansas was until you guys beat them.
  • Bevo_Boy · 1 year ago
"and they would score 80 points EVERY SINGLE GAME if Sam Bradford would play more than 30 seconds in the 45th quarter"

I'm pretty sure Texas would score 80 if they got to play 45 quarters too, lol, but seriously, Arkansas was supposed to be good when we put them on our schedule, so you're blaming Texas for Bobby Petrino not fielding a great team? I mean, they did still beat LSU (for what's that worth this year, lol). But one thing still confuses me, the team that played well and still got beat by Texas by 10 (without scoring with only 25 seconds left, mind you), is now only capable of getting blown out by OU? I'm pretty sure we have a great offense and a solid defense and would still hold our own against OU
  • Clemson_Joe · 1 year ago
Look dude, I'm not Jesus, although I appreciate the respect.

I'm not a Texas fan, just a fan of college football and fairness. I'm not sure who should go and who shouldn't, but all I'm saying is that there is only one group of fans crying for entitlement, because there is only one group that isn't getting it. I think they have a fair case considering that whole 45-35 on a neutral field thing.
  • Corey · 1 year ago
O.K. Ole Miss. Your such a freakin idiot that is so hard up on the sec pull your head out of your ass and take a breath. Texas beat O.U. hands down, held Kansas to 7 points who scored 31on O.U., held A&M to 9 which they scored 28 on O.U. That is what I get tired of Texas has been solid all year and we won head to head u fuckin idiot. Maybe you haver been drinkin too much of that swamp water. We have the best d out of the top 4 teams. By the way who has Florida played??? Georgia lol,

  • Ramblin' Gator · 1 year ago
Looks like some of the coaches are trying to force the Big 12 to take Texas for the championship game.
  • john · 1 year ago

The reason Florida got jumped is because they never should have been in front of Texas to being with... Voters are finally starting to realize that.
  • OU_Ron · 1 year ago
LOL. have you really watched Florida play this year....you're wrong
  • ejg342 · 1 year ago
look at the losses buddy. hell even if the opponents were equal(which they obviously arent) Texas lost on the road, Florida lost at home. Just because we lost late in the season and Florida lost early does not make them better. I would love for Muschamp to dismantle the over rated offense of Florida. The only reason SEC defenses look so damn good on paper is because they go up against some of the worst offenses IN THE NATION. Look what happens to every "top ranked defense" when they go up against an actual offense like Florida, no wonder they put up 42+ every week.
  • Mr2Bits · 1 year ago
Are you new to college football fanaticism because clearly you haven't watched football for very long. College football is all about when you lose if you lose. Texas lost late and it hurt them. It hurt them even more when OU dismantled the team that beat them.

I’m not following your defense logic within the SEC and these terrible offenses they face? Please elaborate? I’d love to hear this coming from a Big 12 fan letting college football know how to play defense.

Just because the SEC isn't a 50-60 pass attempts per game like the Big 12 doesn't remove them from putting up big numbers while being balanced. Florida is great on offense and even better on defense, this being seen clearest with their number one ranked turn over margin and points allowed in the first half.
  • ROLLTIDE_73 · 1 year ago
why are you worried about the rankings Florida beat Bama is a sure thing right.beat Bama Play for the NC that simple
  • Mr2Bits · 1 year ago
Correct. We take care of the big red elephants and were in. Im simply commenting on this week and some of the coaches trying to make waves for Texas when they were all over OU last week.
  • War_Eagle_Atlanta · 1 year ago
No worries. Beat the number one team in the country next week and you jump to number 1. Aight?

    Genius...
  • WeWillSee · 11 months ago
Where has the "BIG 12" (yeah right...more like the "BIG 3") been since Vince Young? Just wondering...The SEC is CONSISTANTLY the best conference from top to bottom year after year. Just admit it...The SEC WINS Bowl games. The SEC equals the BCS standard of determining who is who...First off let's address this "Ole Miss" thing. Those Florida boys underestimated a solid Ole Miss team. They looked past them in the schedule and it bit them in the rear. NOTE* Though unranked at the time this Ole Miss squad has proven to be a solid SEC team boasting wins to both Florida AND LSU, both college football powerhouses. Also, I would be willing to bet that this SAME squad could EASILY have been playing OU in the BIG 12 Championship Game.

New fish to fry... How in the world does Ohio State get a BCS birth? The "BIG 10" is not worthy...Penn State beat that at home...BAD! That's it. They were DESTROYED by the TROJANS, just like ANY SEC or BIG 12 team could do to them at any given moment. And "WeWillSee" when TEXAS Spanks that UN Deserving ASS! Just another year of having to watch a OVER Ranked and OVER Rated team get a BCS game over DESERVING teams like Texas Tech, Boise St, Georgia, Mizzou... OHIO STATE SHOULD BE RANKED SOMEWHERE BETWEEN #16-20.

    Here's THE REAL TOP 5

#1 Florida. UNDISPUTABLE. They beat the BEST team in the country. ALABAMA.

#2 Alabama. This Defense could make Sam Bradford OR Colt McCoy look like that joke of a Heisman winner Troy Smith. Remember the UNDEFEATED Buckeyes?

#3 USC. The Trojans. I'm sorry but it's true.

#4 TEXAS. They BEAT "The Sooners". They are BETTER! DUH!!

#5 Okalahoma. Good Job DISMANTLING Texas Tech... Texas STILL beat you.

This is all extremely subjective...This is what makes the BCS soooooo interesting. Without it we wouldn't be blogging like this. NO Playoff, keep the BCS!!

BTW if any of you "BIG 3" still doesn't believe "WeWillSee" when our best the Florida Gators DESTROY your best. Lets take a Poll:

    Florida Wins.
  • FSU_Ben · 1 year ago
Guess we were overrated, Massively. We knew going in we should not be ranked but I think they wanted to make it a quality win for Florida. I think Florida beats Alabama and the go to the NC game. I don't know if anyone doubts that. Who cares what they rank them at this point as they have control of thier destiny.
  • ROLLTIDE_73 · 1 year ago
    I doubt that
  • Zac · 1 year ago
It's the way I'm leaning, but I'm not about to pencile em in the win column yet.
  • FSU_Ben · 1 year ago
For clarification I meant IF. IF florida beats Alabama they will go to the national championship game and I don't think anyone doubts THAT. I didn't mean to say they will beat Alabama. I think they will but I also won't be floored if Alabama wins (and quite happy that Alabama took away any championship hopes from the fat fullback @QB and his hotheaded coach).
  • dave · 1 year ago
Because Texas lost to a to 5 team(at the time) on the road and Florida lost to an unranked team at home. It really doesn't matter where they are because whoever wins the SEC Championship is going to play in the BCS championship. All Florida has to do now is beat Bama.
  • Mr2Bits · 1 year ago
This is known but still, the consistency is flawed terribly. Additionally, because of this, OU will most likely get screwed because of this.
  • gohorns1012 · 1 year ago
look--if texas is in front or ou is in front someone will feel as if they got screwed, whoever ends up in front will be a giant underdog for the title game--just the way us big12ers like it
  • gohorns1012 · 1 year ago
and how do you figure OU gets screwed? i mean either way they go to a bcs bowl forever in a row
  • Kevin @ Fanblogs · 1 year ago
Bevo_Boy -- I think you're going to like the BCS rankings in a couple hours. Texas has closed the gap in the Coaches to 1pt. Texas already had some computer love, so if the Harris poll holds... you should enjoy watching Fox around 4:20p EST.
  • gohorns1012 · 1 year ago
so kevin? are you to believe texas will be in front of OU?
  • War_Eagle_Atlanta · 1 year ago
I think they will, in the BCS. Whether or not they deserve it is a much tougher question to answer...

It really sucks that the Big 12 south has all the good teams, but the rules are the rules...
  • gohorns1012 · 1 year ago
well when you say "deserve" you can't leave OU,TX,or TT out they all deserve to be considered
  • Ramblin' Gator · 1 year ago
I agree. Another season where the best team(s) may not be playing in the title game. One of these years, the BCS will leave out the "wrong" team (probably ND) and the public outcry will bring an end to the BCS era.

On a related subject, this will be another year with very close Heisman voting and once again, the ballot should be held AFTER bowl season, not before.
  • War_Eagle_Atlanta · 1 year ago
I agree with that notion. BTW, good win yesterday. I'd like to think that I saw that coming...
  • Ramblin' Gator · 1 year ago
Thanks - 'twas a surprise to me too.
  • War_Eagle_Atlanta · 1 year ago
By deserve, I mean who GETS to go, not who is worthy. All three are worthy. It's the Big 12's rule in the case of a 3-way tie, not mine. I think it's a good one though.
  • gohorns1012 · 1 year ago
i think it sucks , but there is nothing i can do about it- i would rather see texas tech play ou fpr the big 12 tile than mizzou,  3losses cmon

BU Bears best 8 loss team in the nation!!
  • gohorns1012 · 1 year ago
dang kevin, thought you had some inside info. looks like UF-OU. this is unfortunate, OU lost a lot of bowl games lately---TEXAS LONGHORNS - big 12 champs, can't argue with that ,they already whipped the 2 teams in the title game, but i won't be a sore winner, OU usually finds some way to slip by the horns at the end of the year, no big surprise --guess Texas has to go unbeaten to get a NC title shot, after watching OUs defense last night, i don't think the NC game will even be close
  • Bobby · 1 year ago
Florida's defense looks real good against those powerhouse offenses of the sec. Name a good offense in the sec. Let me guess, ARK? All the texas fans all the sudden think they are good since they beat them
  • Mr2Bits · 1 year ago
Alabama, GA, LSU and Ole Miss are the leading offensive leaders behind UF with all putting up 30+ points per game. Florida State is 33ppg as well. All these teams are top 30 in scoring.

Florida has held every one of those teams to 21 points or less except for Ole Miss. Add to that UF has outscored their opponents in the first quarter something like 187-13.

Florida has the #5 defense in the country behind Boise,Bama,TCU and USC.

    Want me to keep going?
  • Jason · 1 year ago
OU's defense did something Texas' couldn't. They held the #1 offense in the country to 21 points. Texas had to injure Ryan Reynolds before they could even take the lead in the "neutral" game in Texas.
  • Bevo_Boy · 1 year ago
That happened late in the game, and Texas kept the game close before that, so am I missing something? Texas was still scoring with Ryan Reynolds out on the field.
  • OU_Ron · 1 year ago
BB, Texas won the game, no excuses, Reynolds went down just before or just after halftime, Texas did not have the lead anytime while Reynolds was in the game..........it was a big loss, it left the middle open for McCoy to have a dance party...
  • gohorns1012 · 1 year ago
    jason what are you smoking? puff puff give..sounds like an excuse to me..we can sit here and argue opinions about who did what to who and it doesn't prove crap....here are the facts for you ou fans that run your mouths and make excuses for choking ---- { i have communicated with good ou fans that i wish not to aim this reply to ,OU_RON i like talking with you ron you make the team look good}
fact 1-as texas fans we really only care about one thing, which is really the only thing that matters  texas met you halfway, with less talent in october and handed OU their ass.. so don't give me injury excuses ... if OU is so much better than texas they didn't need ryan reynolds, right? their better right? have them show up to the game and prove it on the field..then you don't need excuses " oh the refs did this and this guy got injured" i'm so sick of that..you got your ass kicked by less talent..according to you guys..that dosn't spell champion to me...i will be the first to admit OU was the better team in 07, because they beat texas....or was it becuase limas sweed was hurt? excuse..if OU and bob stoops are so damn good them have them recruit out of thair own state and show up and beat us on the field...ous team is made up of 80% to 90% texas kids, the ones that go to OU because of tradtion and to be different, can't blame them, not everyone can
    play at texas.

are you an OU fan from texas? you act like one.

fact 2- forgive us texas fans, and fans of our conference if we feel lke oklahoma football is not the best big 12 reprentative lately! you keep getting sent to the best games and you keep choking, don't even look like champions.. remember the last four bowls you've represented our conference in?  or are you just on the bandwagon and don't know anything except a computer voted you #2, check the human polls buddy! they remind me of 45-35 and how the "better team"choked there too. i wouldnt be so dissappointed if the record was better, at least texas has showed up and won their bowl games..
it's a lot simpler than you guys are making it..texas beat you "the best" team right? don't make excuses, don't hate and accept the fact. we could care less where you go and what you're label or rank is when it's over, we got braggin rights for a year..you can't get it back for a year and you can't have a perfect season and you're all just pissed about it...hey we will take the fiesta bowl anyday, its a hell of an accomplishment for such a "bad team" . we will get the win and end up with the better record while yall choke your asses off as usual and make us look even better

  • Porcine · 1 year ago

  • Hotty_Toddy · 1 year ago
Outscored our last three opponents in a combined 135-13. That 13 coming from LSU at Baton Rouge, and the other two games were shutouts.

Our lowest scoring games were two 17 points games, with a win against Auburn 17-7, and a loss to Vanderbilt because of costly turnovers (Seven I believe, and four of those were interceptions, Vandy had to strip the ball out of McCluster's hand at the goal line to preserve the win)

Highest scoring game was 59 against LA Monroe. 6 games where we scored 30+ points. Most points we gave up all season were 31 at home against South Carolina in a loss 31-24.

In the second half of the season our defense was playing as good as the elite in the country, allowing 65 total points in 6 games. Compare that to Oklahoma lighting up the scoreboard with 60+ points at the end of their regular season against those (stellar) Big 12 defenses. Har, har.

2 shutouts against LA Monroe and Mississippi State. Jevan Snead was tied with Matthew Stafford in alot of the categories in the SEC, I believe. I don't know what the stats are now.

"They remember what you do in November." 5 game winning streak, 4 of those wins in November. 4-0 with a combined 152 points in the month of November 2008.

All 4 loses on the season were by a combined 19 points. Ole Miss is undefeated this season when having 1 or less turnovers, and winless when having two or more.

ROAD WARRIORS - Won in Gainesville, Fayetteville, and Baton Rogue. Lost at Winston-Salem by a last-second field goal by Wake Forest. Lost AT Tuscaloosa by 4 points on a 4th and 5 and threatening to score. (WARNING/Side Note: Alabama fans, please bring an extra change of underwear when you play Ole Miss)

Please excuse the red & blue bias, but I do believe we're vastly underrated.
  • ROLLTIDE_73 · 1 year ago
you guys are underated but i dont think we will need the extra underwear
  • Porcine · 1 year ago
I don't see how losses are quality wins, but if that is the case, my hogs are 8-4, same as, um, Ole Miss. Ole Miss is an SEC team so wins over Memphis, Samford, and Louisiana Monroe are supposed to happen. Arkansas, Auburn, and Mississippi State all finished with losing records and tied for 4th and last in the west division. LSU at 7-5 lost 3 of their last 4 and haven't had a good win since Oct. 18 at South Carolina. LSU wins over Troy and Tulane are supposed to happen.

Texas Beat OU why are OU fans feeling if they are getting screwed over?
Texas does deserve to be above Florida still due to who they have played and who they have beaten. Florida lost at home to an unranked team. Texas lost on the road to the number 5 ranked team... Who cares if Texas is ahead of Florida all they gotta do is take care of bama and there in.

  • gohorns1012 · 1 year ago
i hope i dont have to change my screen nme to gohorns101207 for next year, as i hear colt will consider going out at the end of this season...first vince and a chance at two straight then jammal, which could have really helped texas' run game this year. hope colt stays, with that young secondary tightening up next season the horns look good for 09..i have to admit i didn't think they would get this far before the season began
  • gohorns1012 · 1 year ago
i would also like to add that i am very proud to be a horns fan... at the first of the year they flew under the radar, then beat OU. eeryone said they wouldn't beat mizzou, they did, then even lee corso picked okie state to knock off the horns, didn't happen. 3 in a row. i love being the underdog..congrats to TT for the win, they were hungry..unfortunate they lost so late...hook-em

    you make some very good points gohorns, texas also lost blaine irby at the first of the year, a very high recruited recieving tight end,and didn't have depth at that position this year. i think the running game gets better every week those backs are shaping up nicely{ thought i would just respond to myself}

  • AUtigerman · 1 year ago
Whos bright idea from the Big 12 was it to use the BCS rankings as a tie breaker.

They cant even pair up the right teams in bowl games, why in the world would you let them decide your champion?

Wouldnt surprise me at all if they put OU in, unfortunately Big 12 brought this on themselves.
  • AUtigerman · 1 year ago
I may be the only one that thinks this but i think Bama matches up well with Florida.

They play a lot like AU did the last couple of years. Ball control ,good running game, and good defense. That combo has giving Florida alot of problems in the past.
  • Ramblin' Gator · 1 year ago
No, you're not the only one.

At this moment, I think UF will win the SECCG, but I believe Bama will give the Gators the toughest game they've had since Ole Miss.
  • TigerEducated · 1 year ago
They have zero offensive capability...Their 5th year senior quarterback finished 8/16 yesterday, with a touchdown...If you can stop the run, they are horribly one dimensional.

I do not see this game being close.

    UF by 14+
  • Ramblin' Gator · 1 year ago
What do you think of Bama's line play? I suspect their greatest strengths are the offensive and defensive lines.
  • TigerEducated · 1 year ago
Their big man Cody has "allegedly" been instrumental on their defense, but I think their secondary play via the zone coverages has improved.

What this means is that Saban's able to confuse quarterbacks via mixed and disguised coverages more often. Confused quarterbacks=ball held longer=better pass rush results=better coverage=better defensive results.

Against LSU, we had two backs at 90+ yards, and went over 200 rushing against them.

Our rushing attack was one dimensional as our passing game was atrocious thanks to our quarterback depth chart disaster.

I just don't see their offense as a worldbeater of any sort, and their defense can be run on, and those two combinations do not present a good equation for Alabama to end with a W on Saturday.
  • Bama_Babe · 1 year ago
Good points. If Bama can't stop the run, it will get ugly. However, against LSU, Cody wasn't completely 100%. When he's fully heathy, which he is now, his presence helps the whole defensive unit. He takes on 2, sometimes 3, lineman - which will allow us to put pressure on Tebow without a big risk of giving up a big play. Harvin's probable absence is one less offensive weapon to worry about, but Demps and Rainey are just as dangerous. I guarantee you Saban will have his defense ready.

If Alabama can find the running game, which they are very capable of doing, then Alabama will pound it and control the clock. When John Parker drops back to pass, look for the deep ball a few times. Alabama must establish a running game. If not, the game will fall into the hands of JP, and I would rather that not happen. He's much better when the play calling leans towards the rush...meaning he does not always have to make the big play - which avoids the "Old John Parker" ways of inconsistency and trying to force it.

It should be a heckuva ball game. I can't wait to be in the Georgia Dome for the second time this year. Hopefully, the hard-nosed power play can out-rule the speed. I guess we'll see come Saturday!

    Roll Tide!

Imagine TE stil bitter after all this time. Apparently "zero offensive capability" is all it takes to beat LSU.
  • TigerEducated · 1 year ago
How about 4 interceptions, including one that spots you 7 points without your inept offense even taking the field.

How about 200 yards rushing+ given up by your stalwart defense to a team that had absolute ineptitude through the air...It was a turnover every three possessions via the interception for us on offense, and all we could do was run, and that's all you had to stop with Jabba The Cody (Who looks like he's 3 Cheeseburger's away from the Brookhaven Obesity Clinic Reality Show on The Discovery ChannelHD).

Bitter? Or is it just that I see a "paper tiger"...

You guys crow all you like...You earned it on the field...But, this isn't fueled by bias...It's fueled by facts...

And no...not the kinda facts like the 12 national championships you guys lie about all the time...Or the fact that you paid defensive lineman that ended up starting for mediocre CUSA Teams hundreds of thousands of dollars to compete for your team...

No, not those kinds of facts...Ones fueled by observation, objectivity, analytical views of statistics...You know...All the normal sorts of things that Alabama fans confuse with voodoo, black magic, and other things that "dem eddicated yankee pricks" be talking about...

    Good luck Saturday...

    Hugs & Kisses,

    -TE-
  • ROLLTIDE_73 · 1 year ago
So TE in your opinion if we suck so bad how did we manage to end up 12 when most people like yourself thought we would be 7-5 ...8-4 at best. I would love to hear your explanation on how we got where we are.
  • ROLLTIDE_73 · 1 year ago
we are ranked #2 in the sec in total offense....are you still going with the overrated 12-0 sec team theory....or are you upset that lsu cant seem to finish a regular season undefeated..
  • TigerEducated · 1 year ago
What's interesting is that I see you angling for the "at least we went undefeated"...

Is that a response that you've got in the can for if and when you lose Saturday?

If so...You better know I'm gonna grind you down to a nub with a Conference Championship Trophy & a Waterford Crystal one from last year...right?

You guys won this year...You're essentially in the Final Four right now...Good luck the rest of the way...I think you'll sincerely need it...
  • ROLLTIDE_73 · 1 year ago
no angle and thanks for the good luck, but I honestly feel we have a better chance than anybody to beat florida.

PLUS, anyone that argues OU is hot now needs to check out the rankings from when Texas beat them. They were #1 so I dont know how much hotter you can get... and its not even like they played bad. Bradford threw 5 TD's and Texas still won by 10. I cant see anyones argument against that. Even if it is that we lost to Tech, it was on the road, and the last game in a 4 game stretch that we played had to play 4 top 10 teams.... can anyone else match that (especially going 3-1) Rebuttles?
  • FSUSneak · 1 year ago
What's the big gripe with the one head to head game? Texas/OU had so many bad calls in the game...drive extending/change of possesion/game changing calls and no one mentions that anymore. Anyone who watched that game, payed any attention to the reviews, and listened to the comments knows the game could have easily gone either way. Too bad they cannot play one another again the the Big 12 Championship Game...somewhat of a playoff scenario; instead what??? A rematch and a foregone conclusion?

Hopefully the team that goes to play Mizzou somehow loses...that would be a trip.
  • Mr2Bits · 1 year ago
Well it's settled, OU is in for the south
  • Bevo_Boy · 1 year ago
I think that's just dumb. The only reason my post is here is I posted, then when back to the home page and saw the BCS rankings (which I hadn't already seen), so I just editted it.
  • Kevin @ Fanblogs · 1 year ago
Yep - just came out. I am in shock, honestly.
  • gohorns1012 · 1 year ago
well way to go BCS.....big 12 championship OU vs MIZZOU, texas beatem both....well take the fiesta bowl and likely win, good luck with florida OU
  • gohorns1012 · 1 year ago
    what a bunch of BcS!!!!!!

Honestly, if the SEC tiebreaker rules were implemented in the Big 12, none of this bs would've happened. Forget the current situation, it should be implemented regardless. It's way more reasonable, and the Big 12 really messed this one up. Now Texas gets to watch two teams it beat duke it out in the Big 12 Championship.
  • Jason · 1 year ago
And if the NFL tiebreaker rules were implemented, OU would still be playing in the Big 12 Championship.
  • Gator · 1 year ago
Oh how I wish the gators would get a chance to play teaxas, they would show the Big 12 what defense is and run up 45 on texas.
  • gohorns1012 · 1 year ago
uh............well gator , thanks to the rankings we can't see that game and all of your wishes will have to wait, iwouldn't count on your prediction of 45 points either, no one this year has scored more than 39 and i don't think floridas offense can score like techs....as for running game? texas is in the top 40 in run defense and stopped okie state and malcolm kelly from running enough to beat us........i love those who predict crap that isnt gonna happen, i'll bet if texas was going to play florida you would have put the same bullcrap up about OU
  • otowngator · 1 year ago
    Gator is a fake troll.......
  • Bobby · 1 year ago
Florida is real good at shutting down SEC teams. Show me a SEC team that has a decent offense. I would say maybe Ole Miss
  • Bobby · 1 year ago
Maybe if Colt would have just fell down on the sidelines when Crabtree caught the game winning catch against tex, the refs would have called a personal foul on Crabtree for late hit like they did the entire OU/Tex game
  • Kill_The_BCS · 1 year ago
If Florida beats Alabama, they will leapfrog Texas. You won't see a Texas-Oklahoma title game under any circumstances. If Florida does beat Alabama and we end up with a Big 12 rematch, the BCS, as we know it, will end. Now, that's not a bad thing and it's worth sacrificing the Florida Gators to get rid of the BCS.
  • otowngator · 1 year ago
Do you mean if FL LOSES to AL we will end up with Big 12 rematch............
  • Kill_The_BCS · 1 year ago
No, if Florida wins, they would have to leapfrog Texas to get in BCS CG. If they don't, it's Texas-Oklahoma. Of course, BCS voters would all "manipulate" their votes to get Florida in the CG. I very much believe voters will move Florida ahead of Texas if Florida wins. Should they? That's a great question. If Florida beats Alabama, it's questionable if they deserve to leapfrog Texas. The SEC was just not a great conference this year and it's a stretch to value Florida's loss or strength of schedule as superior to Texas.
  • ROLLTIDE_73 · 1 year ago
So your saying that if Bama beats Florida Oklahoma and texes will play for the BCS CG?
  • War_Eagle_Atlanta · 1 year ago
Yea, where'd Bama go in that scenario?

I just think that they're pissed that no matter who the winner of the SEC CG is, they're going to be in the final. It sucks that their great teams just happen to fall in the same division...
  • ROLLTIDE_73 · 1 year ago
Right....So WEA I agree with you I don't think Tubbs is gone and i have a question. Is Auburn going to continue to try the spread or are they going back to traditional Auburn O..If they go back to old style Auburn Football how does that affect the recruits they were recruiting for the spread
  • War_Eagle_Atlanta · 1 year ago
I really don't know at this point. I wish we'd go back to the old offense, but maybe give the spread another try if we got the right guy in there. Tubs will have to allow a new OC to bring in his own guy(s) so the little coaching club on the Plains is going to get broken up.
  • ROLLTIDE_73 · 1 year ago
I agree if you got to let the new oc bring in his own position coaches.well good luck with the rebuild.

BCS GURU analyzed this scenario. Details coming soon...
  • Kill_The_BCS · 1 year ago
Ugh, you guys are reading my post wrong.

If Alabama wins, they're in. That's not my point.

    Current BCS:

    Alabama
    Oklahoma
    Texas
    Florida

If Florida beats Alabama and Oklahoma beats Missouri, you would have the #2 and #3 teams moving up to #1 and #2 and have an all Big 12 CG UNLESS Florida leapfrogged Texas with a win over Alabama. Florida has no business leapfrogging Texas. But the polls will be manipulated to make sure that happens.
  • Ramblin' Gator · 1 year ago
Florida has no business leapfrogging Texas. But the polls will be manipulated to make sure that happens.

You mean like Texas leapfrogged Florida on Sunday morning even though they defeated a mediocre TAMU team?

Doesn't matter, I think you're wrong. The only chance Texas has to make it to the BCS title game is for Missouri to upset OU.
  • War_Eagle_Atlanta · 1 year ago
Why wouldn't Florida be justified in leapfrogging Texas? Both with one loss, Florida would have just finished beating the #1 team AND winning their conference--something that Texas did not.

Besides, everyone knows that the SEC champ gets an automatic berth into the BCS final these days...
  • Ben Prather · 1 year ago
    LOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!

Bunch of one loss teams, a couple of undefeated outsiders (Utah and Boise State no less), tight BCS standings...

Where have we seen this before?
  • ROLLTIDE_73 · 1 year ago
now I got what your saying and you are right the winner of the sec cg will play in the NC game.If Florida wins as it stands now it would be FL and Oklahoma. If bama wins it would be OKlahoma and Bama unless they loose to missouri.if that happens then Texas gets in. No offence to Oklahoma but i do think its bogus that Texas isn't at #2 they did win the head to head match up.....regardless of what Oklahoma has done since they lost that game if i were a Texas fan id be pissed
