28 and counting...
I actually reside down by the zoo, not in the zoo, but near the zoo...
Those mongrel mutt Dawg fans have been drooling all Summer for something that's NOT gonna happen, their schedule is too nasty & they've been getting patted on the back all Summer.
They'll finish 9-3, trip to the Outback Bowl vs Illinois
Save this post, maybe you'll all learn something about using your brain instead of your heart when writing stuff in this forum...
FK
No, at Albarn, we call trailers university housing...
It was a pink trailer with bubble windows, real classy...
How's Todd gonna do Saturday???
I don't know about Todd. He looked shaky last week and confused. However, he did an excellent job of handing off to the backs, which suits me fine. We will see...
Still I say
GO DAWGS!
My only problem with these is how few #1 votes OU got.
POLLS THIS EARLY IN THE SEASON ARE DUMB
But after USC plays Ohio State, their difficulty ratings are going to slump a bit, and GA should be able to make up ground if they blow through their SEC schedule.
The official complaint, or justification by the voters, was a growing backlash about scheduling Division II (or whatever they want to call it now) teams to open a season. They were much more impressed with USC's ability to go out on the road, against a team that had a January bowl game last year, and pound them into nothing. We've all been babbling about this forever anyway.
My only question is: don't the voters even know what the schedules are for the teams that they are voting for? And, if they did, why would they wait until the 2nd week to take out their ire on Georgia and Ohio State? You know, it's more likely that these same knuckleheads realize that USC is gonna be good - no matter how many guys go to the NFL. They were probably wondering if the top rated QB of his class (Mark Sanchez) was gonna be any good. They'll probably want to scratch their collective pee-brains when Terrell Pryor takes over at Ohio State also. Gee, it's real hard to figure out. I wouldn't worry too much about it - as there is gonna be alot of bumps for everyone along the way.

I think East Carolina is a little lower than they should be because the voters expect them to lose next week.
Please...
It sorta jumps off the page at me.
....you change your avatar faster than I post comments...
I was about to give you props on the fine eye candy, but I'm afraid that by the time I post, you'll have some dude as an avatar!
GO GATORS!!
Just a suggesstion-please dont get angry
Go La Tech Bulldogs
Go Rice Owls
And he finally gave Auburn some love at 22nd. Maybe the death threats got to him.
I told him that if he didn't straighten up, I'd turn Zac loose on him...
War Eagle, and S-E-C
Utah is #20 here, and Georgia is below Florida at #4.
Utah should be #16, BTW...
Where everybody wins...
And gets a pizza party...
;-]
Just wait for OSU to move into the #2 spot this week., this will give ESPN a hard on!
Georgia is overrated and Florida has no defense and an injured Percy Harvin. LSU lost too much talent and Tennessee lost to UCLA... Sorry, there will be no SEC 1, 2, 3 and 4 in the rankings. The sky is falling for the SEC.
Meanwhile, it's apparently thudded to the ground in the B-10 with back to back BCS CG routs and opening day losses two years in a row for one of their cornerstone programs...
He's a Michigan fan, he needs a mulligan
My post never positioned any SEC teams deserving 1,2,3,4 but simply stated the predictability of the pollsters and what they are looking for next weekend.
What will OSU's excuse be when they get pumeled by USC then drop on to Wisconsin,Penn State or Illinois. The only thing they will be left with are their tears to rub one out with when they don't have to emberrace themselves in another NC game.
You my friend also have no fight in this as the big M will be lucky to even find a bowl. I'd reccomend you do yourself a favor and not bash other teams before you become the next IrishJT and find your self the door.
I'm not bashing other teams, I'm just voicing my opinion on their play last week. Just because you Florida fans cant handle losing to non SEC teams, its not my fault.
What seems pretty delusional to me is fans that think that because last year they beat a team that was picked to finish 4th in the Big 10, that they don't even have to play hard, just show up this year.
You know what, check out the Tenn blogs...before the game this weekend, they were all saying the same thing, "UCLA sucked last year, so we can beat them with our eyes closed". Real smart they were.
And mighty Georgia gives up 21 points at home to Ga Southern???? Ooohhhh, the rest of the college football world is really scared.
Just remember, last year is just that, last year
IMHO, this year USC, OU, and OSU all have better teams than anyone in the SEC. You may have a great 5th, 6th, and 7th team in your conference, but that doesn't mean you can breeze to another championship
Keep living in the past, and the "Vest" will getcha...hehehe
I think that Florida has got to be #2 or #1 - doesn't matter if they even line up on defense. They could play the water boy and ten marching band members over there and still win games. Speed kills. And, I think, that Florida has even more speed than Southern Cal has. Florida is gonna be mighty tough to beat this year.
Doesn't matter who they put #1 this early. As mentioned in a previous post, whoever wins the USC v. OSU matchup will most assuredly be ranked #1....and deservedly so.
I'd almost rather hang back in the #6 or 7 spot for a few weeks and peak late. LSU being ranked #1 on two different occasions last year created alot of anxiety amongst the players, as it does with most teams, because the only place to go is down. I would prefer reaching the top spot with a game or two left at the most.
Geaux Tigers
Geaux SEC
Yeh, I'm not real thrilled to be placed at #1 going into that Ohio State game either. Would have rather been at #3. All this early season ranking crap means nothing anyway. Like you said: LSU would be in great shape to just hang back, win the west, and then take the SEC championship game. That's an advantage that any SEC has. Basically, looking at this year, whoever comes out of that conference gets a shot. It's tougher for USC this year - really. Because the Big 12 looks to have some tremendous teams also. It'll be real tough, at the end, to leave any Big 12 conference winner out - just to finally get that USC vs SEC champion game. But, they'll probably do it because that's what everybody will want to see. Another thing that will hurt the Big 12 is that Oklahoma lost to both LSU and USC the last time they got their shot. And, that is not to mention Oklahoma's other two losses to Boise State and West Virginia. The only way the Big 12 gets in, provided that USC does not stumble this time, is that if Texas has a monster year and rolls over everyone. Based on their 2005 win over Southern Cal, that could sway some voters, and you couldn't hold them accountable for Oklahoma's poor bowl showings.
Again...my point is not to argue the equality or superiority of UGA, but to at least give an accurate and informed perspective. How many of yall actually watched it?

I will say one thing, however. OSU didn't play their starters until Beanie got hurt. In fact, all 3 QB's, and the entire 2nd string offense played(and scored) in the first quarter.I doubt that any team in the country played more players. Tress just let Beanie back in to get his 100.
We talked about nothing for 8 months, at least now we have something to bitch about.
I don't think we learn a whole lot from these tune up games anyway. In a couple of weeks it will get much better.
Here's what I want to know: where is all this Trojan love coming from? Even last year - we couldn't get any respect anywhere. It seems as if the whole blog doesn't hate the Trojans as much this year for some strange reason.
After that loss to Texas in 05' it was just terrible. The Trojans just sucked. So Cal got behind Oregon State by about 31-3 and ended up losing the game 34-31 - and the crowd went wild. But, that was the game that John David grew up in. He almost pulled out that game single-handed. Even after that loss USC was still in a position to "play in the game" in 06'. But, UCLA played a magnificent defensive game and held USC to only nine points. Still, Southern Cal was at the six yard line when the UCLA linebacker made a tremendous play to grab that interception and win the game for UCLA, 13-9. And, the crowd went hysterical! Southern Cal then went out and demolished a Michigan team that had only lost to Ohio State by three points in their previous game. Florida would go on and smash that same Ohio State team for the BCS Championship.
In 07', Booty breaks his finger in the Stanford game (throws four picks), and Stanford pulls off the miracle win with only seconds left in the game. The worst coaching decision in the Carroll tenure costs USC the game. If Sanchez comes into this game - this loss never happens. And, the crowd goes wild! Later on, facing an Oregon team (arguably the best in the country at the time), Sanchez throws a pick while driving for the game tying score very late in the game. Oregon wins the game by seven points (the worst loss in seven years). And, the crowd goes ballistic! USC would go on to pulverize an Illinois squad that had just beaten Ohio State. Ohio State would go on to be pummeled by LSU in the BCS Championship game.
Now, Southern Cal had entered 07' as the #1 team in the country, and everybody hated the Trojan's. Now, Southern Cal is ranked #1 again in 08' - and the hatred does not seem as severe. What has happened here? Was it simply that they mashed two Big 10 teams that had given Ohio State fits? Did the SEC'ers understand that USC was maybe on par with the Florida's and LSU's? Clue me in here - because I can't quite get my head around this.
GO GATORS!!
;-}
What about the horse? The victory songs? The pomp and ceremony? What about the swords and those helmuts and the way that horse runs up and down the sidelines after each and every touchdown? Are you tellin' me that that stuff just makes your hair stand up?
1) USC is a very very good team .
2) More importantly, most people north of the Mason-Dixon line and West of the Mississippi are completely sick and tired of hearing that the SEC is so good that they don't just win games, they heal the sick and raise the dead. I think what they should do is have Tebow go into the stands at halftime so that the average folks can touch his robe.
3) When it comes to USC, the SEC fanboys can't scream "last year!, last year!, last year!" The fans kind of hope that USC is the team that can slay the "Mighty Dragon".
And, if we can get by you guys, rest assured that will happen. Make no mistake about that. There isn't any 05' Texas team playing down there this year. As fast as Tim Tebow seems to be - he isn't anywhere near as fast as anybody on our defense - that includes the DT's.
ROLL TIDE ROLL
Now if you could just get Nick Saban to utter those same two words...
...that's how "h" got started.
GO GATORS!!
Read you loud and clear. This has got to be "the Big Kitty".
Looks like Vandy is giving the Gamecocks all they can handle, 10-10.
Give me a list of the order of finish (IYHO) of both the Big 12 North & South divisions along with the eventual champion. I'd like to see how the foremost expert on Big 12 ball see's it for this upcoming year. Wonder if it's anywhere close to what I would think?
When was the last time Auburn has won a National Championchip?
This is for anybody, except for an Aub who has nothing to show for in all these years except 6.
P.S. we had 9, beat that and then talk!
P.S. Rolllll Tide
