Yes, VA did win 9 games last year, but one of the losses was to Wyoming. Five of their wins were by 5 or fewer points. Tommy-T has a point. Besides, the ACC isn't looking all that good this year; the Big East isn't looking any better. This could be the year the Big Televen gains back some of the respect lost from last year.

Re: 2008 - Week 2 College Football Polls

I'm thinking more like 31-23 USC. That's the travesty, and tragety.

Re: 2008 - Week 2 College Football Polls

God love ya, Lennie! But with WVU's defense, I didn't see them going to the NC this year. Strangely, they have a better chance next year, when the defense is a little older and wiser, a couple of able RB back-ups have really come along, and a little known, seldom discussed QB named Jarrett Brown takes over for his Sr. year. For now, let's just get the next win.

Re: 2008 - Week 2 College Football Polls

The last thing college football needs is OSU again losing by three touchdowns in a NCG

Re: 2008 - Week 2 College Football Polls

I thought the game looked eerily similar to ECU/WVU.

Re: 2008 - Week 2 College Football Polls

At least you'll know for certain; I'll be pulling for em when they play MI.

Re: 2008 - Week 2 College Football Polls

I think you're being a tad harsh. Agreed, their play was disappointing, given the opponent. Still, champions find a way to play through adversity and win. OSU did that. Now, if they lose at USC, remember, 1) It's AT USC; 2) It's USC they're playing. If OSU loses, and are dropped to #20, well...OK consider this. What if WVU beats CO? As a result, they could conceivably be ranked 20 or higher. Do you think WVU is better than OSU right now? Relax; win or lose, your boyz will be fine, as will mine, in time that is.

Re: 2008 - Week 2 College Football Polls

I agree with 14th.

Re: 2008 - Week 2 College Football Polls

Me neither, TC. Personnally, I think somebody's being kind to my Mountaineers. It's still early yet, however. They could get their act together and work their way back up. Guess we'll see soon enough.

Re: 2008 - Week 2 College Football Polls

VA Tech was somewhat over-rated. I can agree, however & sadly, that WVU was grossly over-rated. Given the obvious disappointment they're feeling as well, I'll be very curious to see how they respond at CO.

By the way, how was S FL overrated last season. Were they even ranked about this time?

Re: 2008 - Week 2 College Football Polls

Hey University of Auburn Tigers Fans!!
