:-)
Prick them, do they not bleed (crimson)?
A Midsummer Night's Dream...
What fools these Bammers be?
"Oh Jimmy Johns! Thy drugs are quick. Thus at the athletic complex I buy..."
"A good recruit is worth booster gold..."
"For I am nothing if not cheating..."
"Twere cheating Fulmer spoke of; for he may strew dangerous conjectures among in-breeding minds..."
"Good Lord, what madness rules in brainsick men, when for so slight and frivolous a cause such enormous Bear Bryant back tatoos shall arise!"
That was the best I could do late at night and off the cuff...
So there should be more coming if I get a chance to brush up on my Bard...
The tricky part is matching the situation or meaning surrounding the quote to actual situations involving BammerBall...
Experienced it up and close 53 years ago.
Texas Aggie 56,57It was a privelege to know the man.
No...
That's aggie's contribution...
It's a quote from King Henry VI...
The original begins...
"First thing we do is kill all the lawyers..."
They're going to throw me back down to single-A blogging for that one...
A poor analogy of Shakespeare, Henry VI, part II, act IV.
But I would just like to comment on the actual play, Bear Country.
I planned on seeing it while visiting family in Montgomery, but missed out on my chance. I plan on seeing it in B'ham.
Hey TE, I'll even wear my houndstooth attire for you! ;)
Funny stuff, WEA.
"Frailty, thy name is Protho!"
Going "a little too far" would be anchoring the video link into the comment...
I simply stated the truth in a creative fashion...
I don't feel it is...
Injuries are a part of football and everytime you step onto that field you know it is highly possible it could be your last...
TP's was partly a freak injury indirectly caused by a stupid & greedy play call by his coach...
And partly due to some seriously thin ankles...
in other news, since this site seems to lack in it, Nick Saban, Urban Meyer, and Pete Carrol were all just in L.A. to shoot a College Gameday commercial for the upcoming season.
where was les miles and gene chizik?
hmmm. bet they didnt get the invite.
Thanks for thinking that TE and I had the stones to overthrow the FSU guy, though...
TE + WEA - ?
Kevin Donahue - ?
i don't really care, because both of you are good writers, but do you think you could go back to posting news?
there's plenty of it out there.
i mean, when you post like two or three threads per week on this site, and you choose:
"Alabama Shakespeare Festival" and "Utah Scheduling Issues," you start losing readers pretty quickly.
Open mic still applies: write your own original material and I'll throw it on!
And yet you're still here posting on it...
I can't wait to see what a laughable "punishment" you'll get...
Though I do hear you'll have to vacate some wins from last year as a result...LOL...
it is this:
we vacate all of the wins from the '06 and '07 seasons except the win over TN and Colorado in '07.
and 3 years added probation.
no scholarship losses, no postseason ban, nothing that matters in the slightest bit.
Alabama is here to stay. sorry to let all of you down.
I find it "laughable" that TE was predicting - more like wishing and dreaming - the death penalty..
The future remains bright, fellas!
You should be PRAYING that the FBI issue in Gadsden at that dealership doesn't turn anything up...
We'll see how just long the "long trunk of the Red Elephant Club" can extend there...But, I have heard it doesn't look good...
Having said that, our boy Reggie Bush in New Orleans was first reported in the media to have accepted HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of dollars while in college three years ago, and they haven't come close to doing anything to SC...
But, again...You guys keep on keeping on...drinking that Crimson Kool-Aid, and hanging your hats on McElroy & that OL...
Don't listen when I mention anything about Ingram & Julio Jones enjoying their little cruise this off-season...Don't wonder how it got paid for...
Remain calm...all is well....
LOL...
Oh. Wait. No.
You have 'connections' with the LSU program. The same program that would love to see The University of Alabama burn on a pole like the scarecrow of Saban last November at the "pep rally". (Real classy, might I add.) So why should I start shaking in my boots over stuff you hear from Baton Rouge?
Look, I know you hate Alabama, but could you do me a favor? Could you, for once, just sit back and wait to see what happens instead of trying to predict every little possible thing? You are always wanting us Alabama fans to be concerned about something. Watch it though, some might mistake you for being concerned yourself.
If you absolutely can. not. wait. until the 2009 season, why don't you go ahead and post novels about Randle and Jefferson and etc, etc. About how LSU is going to dominate the West like they should have last year if it wasn't for "the 18 year old starting QB".....We've all heard it before. But go ahead and spend your time blogging about YOUR team. Thanks, TE.
I am calm. All is well.
you are such a moron.
Ingram and Jones went on a fishing charter with one of their friends' dads.
this was cleared up a while ago.
and the gadsden rumor was cleared up before that.
but uhhh, yeah, just keep hanging on to the hopes that bama gets the death penalty.
that's about the only way your LSU tigers are gonna win the west while Saban is at Alabama.
Once again...Going back and reviewing...
Your football program will have been on probation for 21 straight years by the time this is done...
Nice job, "BC"...Nice job...
Chronic cheaters...THIRTY YEARS worth of cheating...
...and you still don't care, as long as you win...
At least Bama_Babe's got some class about her...You truly are "Gumpical" in your zeal for anything that puts another W on your record...
a big reason why the Tigers are even relevant today.
this was a much smaller case. not a big deal AT ALL. it in no way helped Alabama gain a competitive advantage. but spin it however you like.
you seem a lot more on-edge these days TE. is it because you're becoming fed up with Les Miles? the hat??? nooooo.
fearing a 3rd straight loss to Arkansas?
fill us in man.
Can't. Frickin. Wait...
As for Miles...4 recruits in 4 days...Including a kid you guys were begging to come camp...The QB from Prattville that won a State Title in Alabama last year...
We also signed the best player in Tennessee in LB Justin Maclin...
Considering we signed Rueben Randle, Davenport, Russell Shepard, Kevin Minter, and Mike Ford last year, and had YET ANOTHER top 5 recruiting class, I'm just fine with Les Miles.
But, like I said earlier...Can't wait for 2009...I know you can't either...
One of our opinions may change about the season once it starts, though...
Fearing a 3rd straight loss to Arkansas ?
classic open wound pour salt line
How in the Heck did Arkansas beat LSU anyway they got creamed by Texas,Bama and Florida.
I think they scored 10 points against Texas second string D and we all know that there aint no defense in the B-12 right!
Man I would love to see a Alabama vs Texas game and we came purty close last year
In 2008, we had a garbage defense, that I was complaining about clear back to the UF debacle...and had groused about after the Mississippi State game...
On top of that, we started an 18 year old at QB on the road at Arkansas. Not exactly an ideal situation, but it still took a last second play to beat us.
Sort've the same way it took overtime to beat us on the part of Alabama.
The way I look at it is that Perrilloux really cost us 2008...7 picks 6's by our Redshirt Freshman QB was a direct result of no experience at the position heading into the year.
Then, we bench him for an even less experienced kid. But, I have a supreme level of confidence in Jordan Jefferson. I've been following him since his junior year of High School at Destrehan. Kid's going to be a great football player.
But couple an entire defensive staff that's on its way out, running a garbage scheme, players that knew it, and we still only lost by 1 on a last second play? I'll take the growing pains. The long-term is bright and I'm looking forward to it.
I'm extremely happy with the new staff we have in place, the kids we signed with them, & the kids we've got on board already for this year.
I am really excited for next year, as we return a staff with a plan on defense to a unit that's already bursting at the seams with talent.
We get back experience at QB-which is what we did NOT have last year-and we have only one real hole to fill along the offensive line.
I try not to break down our depth chart every time I post, but I am sincerely enthused. We return a helluva lot of starts & experience on OL, and a lot of talent. A LOT.
I'll take an 8-5 year where we made a mistake with DC's and in which we were a whisker away from 10-3 (The Alabama OT loss & the last second Arkansas loss are what I'm referring to) considering the massive vacuum worth of suckage we had on defense & at QB.
I'm extremely excited about '09...I keep repeating myself...sorry...
I wrote a good response and got blocked lost my post
I didn't see the 08 Ark vs LSU game I saw the 07 game. I guess being in different parts of the country we tend to focus more on games in our own conferences- I wasn't trying to run down the Tigers and didn't mean to leave that impression.
Last season I think I watched a couple of Ole Miss games a few Bama games and a couple of Fla games- The only Arkansas game I saw was a danged slaughter, I think that Texas fans were a bit disappointed with the Hogs -who used to always play the Horns real tough.
Adios Tomcat
It would probably be the most homeristic thing ever written- can't wait
I contribute, & I have the power to delete off-color posts...and running through a lot of this stuff, I'd say I'm pretty damned liberal with that authority, IE-never using it, ever...
Kevin was the brainchild behind this joint...and I actually believe it was himself & an Ole Miss fan that started it...But, Rivals owns this place and they're Bama to the bone...in case you haven't noticed their recruiting rankings since Saban took over, LOL...
WTF?
Did I miss something around here?
I must be working too much...
