Seven subject thread, almost like an open thread, better than not having one....

"USC starting QB Mark Sanchez suffered a dislocated kneecap during practice and may miss the season opener. "

I was very disappointed to see that. That's an injury that's unfortunately, once you suffer one, it's one that's likely to repeat itself a lot.

I hated to see that also....ESPN did a nice piece on him on college football live this week, he's a good kid. You can bet the NFL scouts are watching this closely.
As far as the team goes, I don't see much of a drop off, although I haven't seen much of Mustain outside of youtube.
As a Buckeye, the only upside of this that I see for us is that after Mitch takes over the offense for a while, there may be a little bit of a QB controversy there.

Anyone else want to see Mustain(g) fail miserably? Porcine?
  • Porcine · 1 year ago
I would like to see him succeed but USC lose.

I wonder if Mitch's mom had anything to do with it. Isn't her name Tanya?

Maybe the Trojans can settle with that High school for a QB.

Dislocated kneecaps can be painful & reaccuring. A friend of mine had a son dislocated his kneecap, recovered only to dislocate it again...and again. He was a promising offensive tackle but his kneecap just would not stay in place even after surgery to enlarge the "cup" in his knee that the kneecap sat in. He played through the pain some, but his mobility was limited.

Doubt it will affect the Trojans season any as they are 3-4 deep in most areas. Mustain is still a fine backup if Sanchez goes down repeatedly. The only real worry is continuity.

Alright, I know I really take getting mad at pointless things to a new level, but I am absolutely livid about Southern Cal (no, I will no longer continue spelling the whole thing out for their benefit) being so absolutely obsessed with those three letters that they refuse to even allow other schools to even abbreviate their names correctly.

I live in South Carolina (which is abbreviated 'SC'). I have no problem if they want to be called USC; but Michigan doesn't have a problem with Miami calling themselves "UM", nor does Colorado vent about Clemson being "CU". Last I checked, Florida State was comfy with Fresno State as well.

The mere fact that these people are so pointlessly obsessed with being "the real USC" absolutely sickens me. The fact that the "University of South Carolina" cannot go by it's actual abbreviations because of the stupidity of those ego-inflated self-absorbed primates is utterly offensive.

It isn't an issue of which team is better known on the football field, or which university is more prestigious academically - IT IS ABOUT THE DAD-GUM ENGLISH LANGUAGE AND COMMON SENSE.

Hey - Souther Cal fans - do you honestly expect me, on the other side of the country to abbreviate the namesake university of my home state something other than WHAT IT IS because you can't deal with others daring to have the same letters?

Sue the estate the guy that named our state 'South Carolina' over 200 years before you had BUILDINGS! That makes as much sense as what you're doing with the patent office!

Congratulations - you live in LA. It's a nice place; I've been there. YOU ARE NOT BETTER THAN US - DEAL WITH IT.

    Geez.....and I'm even a Clemson fan. >:-P

    I concur.

You guys are the Original USC correct? Stand tall. I have lived in Brentwood and I have clients in South Carolina. All things considered, give me a life in South Carolina over LA or Orange County.

As a side note, the Arbys in South Carolina are cleaner and have better service than anything in So Cal.
