oh and about the columbus thing. here's the deal:
OSU's stadium wasn't filled up.

Alabama's stadium was filled up at 92,371
plus about a few thousand on the ground level, plus several thousand more fans waiting outside.

so! in my mind, Alabama still holds the record.
but as far as calling it a national championship, i think that's a bit absurd.

BB, I remember when I 1st heard about this, and thought "Wow! If they'd only do that at WVU." Well, 1st off, they can't. Mountaineer Stadium only holds 73,000. But imagine this for a minute. WVU charges $5.00 at the gate for the spring game. The proceeds go to the WVU Children's Hospital. Such a feat would have ammounted to over $450K in donations. A-figgen-mazing!!! Alas, in WVU's case, it's more like $60-70K.

Not defending the shirt but...

BC was referring to the 2007 Spring game...when Alabama set the record and made spring games popular. This shirt is referring to then, too.

Not that i care one way or the other. To get 80 plus thousand to a spring game is pretty amazing anyway you slice it.

And im pretty sure Bama had at least that many this year.

Yeah, OSU had over 95,000.
I think BC was trying to say that percentage wise, Alabama still held the record since it was at capacity+. But it's not really a competition in my book.

Over 80,000 for a spring game?
Some call it crazy, but I call it offseason medicine.

Wow thats a whole lot of people-If yalls stadium only holds 92,371, then perhaps yall need to build new end zones or add upper decks so yall can win the spring game attendance record. I think Texas only had about 40,000 for their spring game. Texas won their bowl, can't say the same for Bama,OSU or OU.
They drew more fans for a spring game-got to givem credit for that. Thats fan support right there-wow

If you use the right twitter tools - like Tweetdeck, Seesmic, or Nambu - than you really can get some great stuff out of Twitter. For example, I have a custom search set up at work so that anytime someone mentions our brand name, I can see what's going on - even if it's someone on the other side of the world. I've got about 10 custom searches going at once, as well as seeing whatever folks might be saying in passing.

The best analogy I can give you is a CB radio. There's a lot of talk going on - some of it's crap. But if you can find a way to fine tune down to what interests you... GOLD.

If it wasn't for the great weather I doubt they would have got the record. I think a lot of casual fans looked to take advantage of the cheap seats and high temps. It was 80 something that day and by Monday it was back down to the sub 40's. All the hype around Pryor improving I'm sure helped but I would really give the credit to the weather being the reason so many non die hards showed up.

I'm kind of jealous now, because I don't have a shirt that says spring champions- all I have are Rose Bowl Champion and Feista Bowl champion shirts- its all good- I've seen a lot of silly non -official merchandise around here.
There's one burnt orange shirt that has a RV in the shape of Oklahoma- others that say O -Who ? and I own one that has Bevo sexually abusing Reveillee{ A&M's mascot} I like the ones I saw that said saw them off back to back- A&M's obsession with Texas is beyond weird- which is okay
afterall its just a t-shirt

I cannot even begin to express my utter embarrassment and contempt for the douche bag who put that horrid thing together, I can only hope The University did not sanction or approve that design, and this idiot is selling them apart from licensed merchandise...

Just like the as-lame "Got Recruits?" t-shirts last year...

The only good thing that comes out of this is a good long laugh when you see the red necks wearing them at a game... or at the store... or at the drive in movie... or at Bama_Babe's family reunion... or at Six Flags... or at the Stuckey's off of I-20 in Talladega... or at the yard sale along Hwy 31 in Clanton...

Maybe The Observer can get the shirt and his better half can get the Tebow Thong... make 'em take some pics, and we'll see which one looks better in action...

Why would anyone even bother to make claim to Spring Game National Championships? That implies simply that there is nothing else interesting going on nearby, so narrowed options result in one shared experience, which is why AL had such a high attendance. Furthermore, the shirt isn't even true... SEC crazies...
