I believe Oregon and USC are both in the Pac 10 Ben...that would give us 2 teams in the Top 25...which is still pathetic.
  • Ben Prather · 1 year ago
Yeah, I didn't update the conference info for the first posting... nor include the standing values
  • Ben Prather · 1 year ago
I am surprised Georgia did not pass USC. The gap of 0.055 is reduced to 0.012. If the Florida/Georgia winner is not ahead of USC next week I will be aghast.
  • mr.sec · 1 year ago
i agree 100 percent usc isnt that damn good i would love to see them play florida or georgia
  • GA_Boy · 1 year ago
    Ben
I don't really care if USC is ahead of GA right now. The only thing that matters is beating Florida. Now, next week at this time if I am still sitting here at my computer smiling from ear to ear with the replays of a Georgia win over Florida playing through my mind, I will most certainly be more than aghast if the DAWGS aren't ahead of USC and Oklahoma!

    GO DAWGS!!

If the playoffs started next week:
    8 Tulsa @ 1 Texas
    5 Oklahoma State @ 4 Florida
    6 Ohio State @ 3 USC
    7 TCU @ 2 Oklahoma
    8 Ball State @ 1 Alabama
    5 Utah @ 4 Texas Tech
    6 Boise State @ Georgia
    7 Florida State @ 2 Penn State

Also, how is Oklahoma ranked ahead of OSU when you compare a 10 point loss on a neutral field and a 4 point loss on the road to the same team?
  • Ben Prather · 1 year ago
    GO SWC!
  • NMLSooner · 1 year ago
Yeah! they've got three. Go state of Oklahoma, we have three!
  • ted · 1 year ago
Because OU was leading the entire game and just didnt play like they wanted to win the game in the 4th, also some key injuries on the defense. OSU was playing from behind the entire game. Texas was very beatable by OU they just didnt get it done. OU/OSU is goning to be a great game this year.

They need to tweak the BCS. My suggestion is The BCS should take the 6 Highest rank conferences champion, if your conference champion is rank lower than the other 6 you automatically lose your BCS bid. Ex. Boise and Utah finish higher than FSU and WVA then the ACC and TBE should lose their automatic BCS, then maybe they might get one at large Bid
  • shiguy · 1 year ago
Don't start up this whole "the BE should loose their BCS" thing all over again. It's been argued and debunked already.
  • 4cornerz · 1 year ago
No I am not starting the BE should loose their BCS again, but why should you penalize mid major conferences when they are doing better than Major conferences. I am looking at the over all picture. The ACC and BE are down this year and MWC and WAC are doing good this year, so those conferences should get an automatic bid, and the ACC and/or BE should get an at large or no bid at all. PS. It could have been the Pac 10 and Big 12 down this year, I would have said the same thing.

Ben, the feeling is mutual. I figure that if Fl beat Ga, that should put us at the head of the 1 loss teams. If Fl, or Ga wins the SEC, and there is only 1 unbeaten that SEC winner should play for the NC. If there are still 2 or more unbeaten teams, then it's over. I truly don't see noone beating Penn ST, and Texas. I think Alabama may drop one. Just speculating.
  • NMLSooner · 1 year ago
You benefit in recruiting by being a part of the SEC, because it is so competitive. This will, of course have a negative effect in the W-L columns. It's a tradeoff. If one of the SEC teams doesn't want to face that, quit. I'm sure the C-USA or Sunbelt would be happy to let you go 12-0 every year! A playoff would help, but the SEC would probably complain until 8 of the 16 were from their conference.

i really think texas tech is not getting the recognition they deserve.graham harrell is a heisman trophy candidate(leading)by the way ,hes first in passing yards in the nation,.number one offense
and yet they are continue to climb the bcs ever so slowly.are you kidding me!!!!!
  • Tyler_Tech · 1 year ago
Do not worry allen. It does not matter that we are a little lower than you think we should be. Our schedule will take care of itself. We will either take care business or we will not. Graham will also be the frontrunner for heisman if we win out. We really need to win this game vs. Texas. If we do that then we really have something!
  • Tyler_Tech · 1 year ago
On another note, I really think that TCU is higher than they should be. They beat no one of importance in non conference, the only team they have beaten is BYU, which is still in the mountain west. I do not believe teams should jump that high in the polls for beating teams in non bcs conference that happen to be ranked.
  • allen · 1 year ago
i concur ,however whats it going to take? weve put up phenomonal numbers against some good teams: smu, nebraska, texas a and m.maybe not ranked teams, but still teams with impressive stats.well see against texas.i think they will beat em.nontheless i think we should be a championship contender.

  • gatorhippy · 1 year ago
What exactly are "TEXES" and why do you all want them?
  • Tommy_Trojan · 1 year ago
    GatorHippy:

I think that they want all of their "ex's to move to Texas". It's really not too bad of a thought.
  • ra8tor · 1 year ago
