I'd be a wreck after 4 OT's (Shades of Louisville/WVU-2005, and that was hardly the longest.). So, I think we'll go with scenario #2 above. Worse comes to worse, provide they're both still alive, we debate it again the following season.

By the way TE, will you call for his removal or the OC/DC's removal if they start losing next year? Seems to me everyone was after JoPa's head when they were only winning 3 or 4 games a few years back. Why do you suppose that was? Could it be because he is the head coach and the responsibility for the team falls on him? If you are going to hold him responsible for the losses, then you better be prepared to give him his due when they win.

And don't tell me he wasn't past his prime back when they were only winning a few games a year. We all thought he was.

Could it be that he knows how to run a football program?

I'm not JoPa fan but if it works for them, so be it.

Most focus pieces you read on JP are full of descriptions of his presence at practices and often quoted by players and asst./positional coaches alike about his involvement and uncanny ability to see things from nearly two field widths away...

Look through Maisel's archives over at ESPN or just put in the search engine yourself, Tiger Lazy...

Meanwhile...

If you look through Carter's archives over at the Chopping Block at the O-Town Sentinel, you'll read where Bowden is often a no show at practices and has recently been quoted in admitance of having little to do with the d2d ops of the Noles...

But seriously, TE...

It aint court, but don't be lazy...

Do your own research and show me how I'm wrong...

That was the famous "Goal Line Stand" game. Penn State had it first and goal and got down to the half yard line on 2nd down. Bama stuffed the run on two straight plays to hang on to the lead with about 5 minutes left in the game. #2 Bama would beat #1 Penn State 14-7 to win the NC.

I think you are most likely correct, but I agree with NMLSooner, the burden of proof IS on you since your stated opinion is contrary to the majorities perception.

Isn't the burden of proof on you? Your the one making claims contrary to the public comments that are made by those who would know. Maybe you're right, but until YOU produce the proof I will assume JoPa is involved in the day to day planning and running of his team. What hard evidence do you have?

Didn't Bama win that one by, like a TD or less? As I recall, Bama moved the ball all over the field on Penn St, but for some reason they just couldn't finish. So, throughout the entire game Penn St was in it. They just couldn't get over the hump (Bama's "D" wouldn't let em.). Sound right to you?

If Bowden isn't the subject of the post then why is there a huge Nole logo next to the link and also tagged for FSU Football, TE?

JP knows his kids by name, makes less than half a mill a year and is still involved in the day to day planning and running of his team...

Bowden sits to the side, shakes hands and dreams of eating pudding, retiring to the beach while occasionally getting in the "real" head coaches way and calling his former OC to make sure he's still getting his severance check while Bowden himself collects 2 mill a year...

USC ranks 31st, with 17 allowed.
There are 8 teams in between Alabama (22nd) and USC (31st) that have allowed only 16 sacks, but Alabama is ranked above them because they played a 13th game.

Interesting stat: Air Force ranks 1st with only 3, and Arkansas brings in the rear at 119th allowing 46 sacks on the season.

Btw, I watched the 1979 Sugar Bowl today on ESPN Classic today. I think JoePa still wears the same glasses now that he did then. The only difference in then and now was his hair color and his sideline presence.....
