That's hysterical. My cigar shop doesn't carry those.

I gave Mike Bellotti one of my favorites, a Paul Garmirian (PG) cigar in Tucson 10 years ago before a Duck/Wildcat game. No word on whether or not he liked it.

I don't know Coach Price or if he even smokes cigars. My guess would be that as recreational golfer and a fan of exotic dancing, that he would indeed enjoy a good cigar now and then.

Come on, TE. I don't want to be in a position to defend Alabama, but I find it impossible to believe that any coach would condone that type of activity from any player and would fall anywhere short of turning him into the authorities immediately.

However, I do NOT doubt Jimmy Sexton's ability to somehow try to spin this into some sort of raise for Saban...

Saban sends out feelers YEARLY....Don't doubt for an instant he doesn't...The one constant about Saban is that he is ALWAYS looking around for the next "bigger, better" deal, and the sooner 'Bama realizes that, the better....

Oh, and BTW-it will come out that this John's kid has been known to have been peddling pit bulls and using his likeness for some time...Lots of 'Bama fans knew he was doing it, and it had even made its way onto the net and message boards...

This is an NCAA violation, and I saw a GoDaddy link earlier that goes into greater detail...

Saban's not extorting a raise, he thinks that by the time the dust settles, Johns ain't the only one going down, and 'Bama might be heading down with them due to prior knowledge and inaction...

The first part of your post, i completely disagree with, and i think ive already given you my reasons.

BUT. I think youre spot-on when you say this will turn into a bigger problem than it already is.
Jimmy Johns was a HUUUGE drug dealer on campus. He was the main supplier of all cocaine at Alabama, and i saw today that Jimmy was starting to rat people out whom he sold to. Even though i think Jimmy distanced himself from most players on the team, i do believe some of them were big customers. If Jimmy were to rat out those players, then this thing could blow up.

But as far as the NCAA getting involved, i dont think that will happen at ALLL. This is a matter of law, not a matter of breaking football rules.

Words is that Mr. Jimmy Johns wasn't only selling crack...Not only selling crack on campus...Not only caught with Ecstasy tabs (Psst...Jimmy...Where's the rest of your stash?), but he was ALSO using a website to sell pitbulls, and using his name, and pictures of himself in a University of Alabama uniform, to do just that...

ALLEGEDLY, the University and many folks around the 'Bama program knew, and said nothing...

It appears as if some mighty big, mighty fat, mighty serious chickens are going to come home to roost regarding Jimmy Johns and the always infamous "Lack of Institutional Control" worries in Tuscaloser...

Hi,
You can't accept this because all the smokers are not expressive. Some are deep thinkers. Others are not so. Mind is what defines the charecters. So the brand of smoking does not dedect the person he is.

You haven't enjoyed a single malt scotch properly, until you've first tempered the palat with a fine cigar.

...temper the palat with the scotch...and enjoy the cigar...

My ol' lady has placed a smoking ban on the basement. Actually, she has placed a smoking ban on me, period! So, I'm stuck enjoying the single malt in the traditional plebian manner, that is, without a smoky treat.

But if I am to understand you correctly, cigars and single malt scotch go together as, say, Gator-fans and jorts?

There is nothing better than a cuban cigar...especially a Montecristo.

Paterno could have been blogging about fish/cars/jewelry/Russia and it wouldn't have made a difference, that wasn't the point -- rather what he was doing WHEN he should have been focusing on football. I suspect you realize that.

Thanks, TB. I had the exact same thought before that thread was shut down. I might have thought that mentioning the name of a politician in the title and content of the blog was an overt invitation to discuss politics. Maybe we'll have "porno" in an upcoming blog just for good measure. :-)

If I were gonna smoke, it would be likely a pipe, something out of Lord Nelson. Years ago I had been introduced to an outstanding pipe tobacco, moist, rich/pleasant aroma, but according to the introducer, every bit as pleasant to smoke. I've been fascinated by many a decent pipe collection, but alas, I have more important things to spend my money on…like football tickets or ESPN Game Plan!!! OH, almost forgot, and a decent computer with which to blog.
