Does USC get left out of the BCS title game if they lose to Oregon State, there are no other undefeated teams except BYU, and a 1 loss SEC, Big 10, or BIg 12 champion? Cause this ain't looking good.

Lennie, since I had such little interest in this thread topic, I just read it through today. That was some of the funniest sparring I have ever seen with Tommie T. I thought that joker never gives up but you hung right in there with him. Note of interest--I am not trying to be your buddy. Just making an observation.

By the way, DAWGS will beat the crap out of the Tide Saturday. Go to the bank and take the max that your ATM card will let you get out, call your bookie, lay the 7 points, and you still win by 10 if you bet on the DAWGS. I will post my score tomorrow.

I'm pretty sure Lennie's a big boy; he can hold his own, and he's free to take a shot at me at his convenience.

As for what kind of people Lennie is--I don't know him from adam, and frankly, I don't think you do either, even if you think you do--so I'll take your conclusion that he's "good people" with the appropriate gain of salt. That said, I have nothing personal against Mr. Collins, the poster on Fanblogs. He's a solid, consistent, entertaining poster--that's all I know about him. Maybe the man behind the handle is a gentemen and a scholar to boot; maybe he is good people...then again, maybe he's a redneck. I don't know.

As for the "tobacco juice" comment--that was merely incidental to the redneck bit--not really directed at Lennie (now, if you really are seeing tobacco juice between his comments and his avatar...I suggest wiping your monitor....).

...but either way, I ain't buying the "righteous indignation" bit. If I did, I'd be disrespecting Lennie more than by hanging "redneck" on his handle.

He may or may not be a redneck; but I'm inclined to believe he is not a sniveling little baby. He certainly hasn't posted like one to date.

USC has a weak schedule. Ohio St. is the only ranked team they play all year (Ohio State almost got beat by Troy last week). The rest of the top ten teams play 3 or 4 ranked teams so if the SEC champion and big 12 champion go undefeated USC deserves to sit on the side line

I was just discussing the semantics of such a thing with some friends about a week ago. I'd love to know how you pull it off. Do you restrict the players to certain teams/conferences? How many players on a team? Basically any and all information that you're willing to share would be much appreciated.

what I do is a hand-scored league run in a forum on a sports message board. It's not a fantasy football site for college football.

if someone around here was dedicated enough to want to set up something similar for 2009, i could certainly help them set it up. I don't have the time to organize a second one myself (though i might participate in it)

in addition, i am aware of a fantasy football site for college football: http://www.u-sports.com/ - I've heard good reviews about it, but it is a pay site and i've worked to keep my league free, so i don't have any first hand experience with it

You indirectly bring up a great point. If Alabama wins, they more than likely will not be #1, and will probably not get many #1 votes. However, would there be a more impressive resume at this point in the season than Alabama's? I certainly don't think so.
