This is ECU! Been watching them for years . They always play the big teams well then fall apart on the small teams. I can't believe it what the hell ! they were 2and 0 and they can't beat NC State come on Chip what are you doing . I supose your counting the money from your new contract! And now Houston come's to Greenville and they Skin you up!

But depressingly, Granny Jr. will more than likely be lured away by the large purses of a fickle BCS booster base and forever be doomed to wander from job to job after posting a 8-5 record every three years...

Syracuse will eventually find a decent coach. I'd like to see Holtz stay where he is to help build something even greater at ECU.

If you're correct, it's a travesty, as the Big East should have been looking, and I mean years ago, into ways to include ECU into the conference. It makes so much sense. They're a good geographic fit; they're in a good market; they already have a respectable history against other Big East, as well as other BCS teams. Why not invite them, before another conference does? Seems like a waste not to; that's for sure.

....they should make sure that ECU and BYU or any other combination of small potatoes schools that won't be profitable to the BCS, be permitted an opportunity to take the lion's share of all that TV-contract money--that way, the BCS may then possibly be a losing proposition for all of the remaining BCS participants!

Yep....that's exactly how you insure the economic viability of any business venture...by leaving profitabitly up to chance.

If ECU and BYU goes undefeated the highest rank team will get an automatic BCS Bid, then the second team will hope and pray that they make an at large bid. I think the BCS rules sucks

Kevin is correct.

If ANY BCS non-AQ teams end up in the top 14 the TOP such team is guaranteed a spot. This has been loosened from the 12 it has been in the past.

The other is ELIGIBLE to be selected.

The only way to GUARANTEE that two get in is if they are the only other eligible team. This would involve 4 of the 6 conferences not getting a second team into the top 14. The Big East and ACC have set this up and the Big 10 is well on their way.

Here's to a PAC 10 implosion!

BYU is going to lose, at the very least, their final game of the season. ECU and Utah would be a better option.

Yes, it is entirely possible. I'm just going from the hip, but I do not believe the BCS *has* to take both however - just the higher rated team.

Kevin- What happens if ECU and say BYU run the season out undefeated and both end up ranked in the top 8 in the BCS poll. Is it possible for two non-BCS teams to crash the party?

I think Fresno will be beaten pretty convincingly by Wisconsin. Not a blow out, but enough to not be close. I do think ECU will go undefeated now. I do not think that BYU will be undefeated, but Utah certainly looks like they could be as well. If this is the case, who crashes the BCS party? My guess here would be ECU going by strength of schedule and probably final ranking.
