Fanblogs Open Conference Championship Thread
I just wish my representatives had the same chance...
I doubt I will yield my throne as the Anti-Playoff Whiner Czar, however...
There is a funny story in South Carolina lore where Fmr. Sen. Strom Thurmond fillibustered Congress by reading the phone book aloud, name by name...
Just don't ax me any question - 'kay?
I wood just like to gradulate the Gator on winning anutha BS....uh, BCS vic'try and I 'ppreciate them, everyone. So much so that I named my baby girl after them...Appreciantae.
Geaux Tigers
BEAT 'DA HEELS!!!
It's bad enough that UF bestowed a ED.S. certificate on someone with such a jarbled command of the english language forcing me to share alumni status with her...
But that people have been voting her back in office since 1993 as the represenatitive to shape national decisions in Congress is mortifying...
Anyone know if Percy Harvey is related to Steve Harvey?
See the key word there...
As far as her EdS...
It's not honorary, but the real deal AND she taught courses AT Hogtown U...
No word on whether she ever officially "gradulated" any outgoing Senior classes as the commencement speaker for their respective ceremony...
THAT assuredly would have been special...
Those people are the same ones who voted for your President. Enjoy those results, as well. When you peer at that .mpg up there, you are looking at the face of the modern Democratic Party.
No more political talk from TE...He'll begin to truly offend people by telling the truth.
I have always admired your political leanings (can't say the same about your football intellect though), although what you perceive to be offensive, is really very mild for us westerners. I'd start by trying all politicians for "High Treason". We could simply put em' all on a tree, and if any of the ropes broke first, we'd know that they might be telling the truth. That said: I really doubt if we'd lose too many ropes. Yes, I think that Midevil justice should rule the day.
Anywhere else we can go to access the clip?
GO GATORS!!
Try that one out.
You're right: it is Hilarious!
"...1, 2, 3, 4, 5...the Ga'tuhs don't take no jive..."
Hadn't heard that one. Must be new...
...or something like that.
GO GATOR_!!
Without question, the better of the 2 versions.
This is terrible
[DELETED].
GO GATORS!!
Just a matter of checking myself (political commentary), in the interest of Friday afternoon levity. I'm guessing you received the original posts before the redactions/deletions, so you probably understand.
Not really a big deal, just not the right forum for it, and certainly not the right time for it, so I thought it better to pull back.
GO GATORS!!
GO GATOR!!!!
PS....This is an edited and "doctored" version. If you go to You Tube you can watch the whole speech. There is SOOO much more that wasn't included here.
Black Bart: Cattle Rustling.
Heady Lamarr: That's not much of a crime.
Black Bart: Through the Vatican?
Heady Lamarr: Kinky! Sign here.
Black Bart's hands are exposed.
Jim: How many times have I told you to wash your hands after a cross burning?
One of Heady's men pulls off their hoods.
Black Bart: And now for my next impersonation, Jesse Owens.
However, if you want to engage is such banter with your Fanblogs cronies, perhaps the Fanblogs page on Facebook might be more appropriate?
I'm just playin' with TE. I was just wondering if he wanted to argue about that. He likes to argue over everything. I'm sure that he would take the stance of a liberal democrat if he thought he could "enlighten" me.
Well, I'm not so sure. I think that way down inside, there is a "closet liberal" just yearnin' to leap out of TE. I think he'd sell off all of his possessions and move to Haight-Ashbury, if he could ever figure out, how to release himself of the bondage within himself.
You can go right on assuming whatever you like, though...
I can't seem to access this thread from work because they've disabled YouTube...Oh well...
It does seem as though that "Anger Management Therapy" is takin' hold. I'm proud of you. Hardly a whimper back. Now, that's progress! Keep up the good work. And, if you ever need to talk it all out, I'm always here for you. You know that.
Seriously, I could never mistake you for a "flamin' liberal". Your Libertarian ideas have been noted. Yet, if you find yourself ever rootin' for the California Golden Bears, Oregon Ducks or UCLA Bruins (against even the Mighty Trojans), you might want to have another look at your tendancies - as all three of those institutions are deeply liberal.
under my proposal instead of paying AIG,GM etc etc
pay each American 38,000 they would in turn pay off debts to banks and lenders and for those who have little debt they would probably invest- thus stimulating the stock market. It just seems that rewarding the responsible parties is an insult to the hard working general public.
Let those big companies fail-heck nobodies going to bail me out
If every American got the money, then it would stimulate the economy.
I dont like the idea of Amerca being in debt to the Chineese
Sadly, you're both correct: $2.2 TRILLION spent; $9.9 TRILLION committed.
(That's actually 12.1 Trillion, but apparently everyone just goes blind after the decimal, and only count the first digit--2+9=11).
http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2009/02/04/b...
It's a total short sell. Have you noticed that dollars are a bit more "available" recently? That's what was supposed to happen--in the short term.
Here's the problem though; those dollars were manufactured (printed); they don't represent any real value. So what's going to happen in return, now that we have more $$$ in circulation, is that prices are going to go up....
...and up...and up...and up....until the value of "product" matches the dollars printed. That's how it works--the governing principle of capitalism--value for value; greater value attracks greater value--or, if you prefer, supply and demand (greater supply of dollars, yields lesser demand for a dollar).
Apparently our legislators don't understand these elementary capitalistic principles...or could it be, as the cynics maintain, they know 'em all too well, and understand that the disaster they've set us up for, will present the ultimate opportunity for the gubm't to take over the private sector? ("...never let a good disaster go to waste...")
God help us.
God help us, indeed.
BTW he laid off 50% of his employees-Oil feild lease services price of oil dropped from 110. per barrel to 42.
We also had a small manufacturing plant shut down laying off 40 people- doesnt sound like much, but in a town of 5,400 its 40 people out of work.
I agree with TG's post below, as you print more the value drops and inflation follows
Adios Tomcat
Its always boom or bust in the oil feilds, many of us do something else now after the late eighties.
BTW SH130 is coming thru this area- probably a lot of heavy equipment needed and some jobs, concrete, gravel etc etc
Oh and we are getting a donut shop-so its not all bad news,
