Some Tennessee, Georgia, Auburn and Alabama fans decided that black-and-white school colors were a bit too dull. So they called upon God to give them colors that would truly represent them.

First, the Tennessee fans stepped before God and asked for their school's colors.
God said "When I see Tennessee, I see a great big orange sun coming up over beautiful white clouds. "Tennessee will be orange and white".

Next, the Georgia fans stood before God and asked for their school colors.
God said, "I see a field of fertile black soil...from which will grow a beautiful field of red roses. Georgia will be black and red."

The Auburn fans were next. God said "When I think of Auburn, I see a glorious sky of blue with the bright orange sun shining down on my favorite town. Your colors are orange and blue."

God then turned to the Alabama fans and said quite hastily, "Your colors are crimson and white."

Later, after the fans had left, St. Peter came to God and said, "Lord, as you handed out each fan's colors, you explained their origin-all but the Alabama fans. I'm curious. Why crimson and white? What do you see when you think of Alabama?"

"I see the same thing you see," God said, "white trash and red necks".

Since it has been brought up, this next season will be my 4th. The first I didn't comment much at all, and just read the posts and lurked a bit. My addiction hadn't set in at all until the 2nd season when I commented under a few different handles. Then after much discussion about the meaning of my most frequently used handle, I decided to settle with the current, less offensive one. The addiction was in full bloom at that point. I'm really not too sure what I'd do without fanblogs. The season and the offseason are so much better with the ability to converse, discuss, and debate the many topics nationwide that happen to come up relating to our much beloved sport. Just to think, the only things I had to look forward to in the past between the National Championship game and kickoff next season were signing day, the draft, and the spring game. Now my school actually has a good basketball team to fill the void as well, but that just isn't enough on its own.

I agree- LOL Less pass interference calls and more offensive holding calls
BTW what the F is head to head? We were taught to use our heads its a fundamental part of the game.-shoot It seems to me like- you can't stop in mid air- some late hits on QB's are unavoidable and some are downright dirty-see Texas A&M for examples

I wish I could say I was out on the island for the last month, but... no such luck.

If they can get the polls working, more power to them. I'm working on a new backend for the site, so we could have polls running with or without Disqus by the start of the season.

My first year here was 2003...and we won a national title...I found this place again last year, prior to the 2007 season...and we won a national championship...

Given types of plays that currently wind up under review, I think some questionable penalties, especially "running into the kicker", should automatically be reviewed. JMHO...

I'm thinking:

PASS INTERFERENCE - Spot Foul
Institute a 5 YD "PAULY SHORE ACTING FOUL" when a kicker gets caught pretending he got hit.
