That'll be worth filming for future generations to enjoy.
What's he trying to do, emulate Yoda. "Yes, help you I can. Be your governor I will, oooohhh..."
Colorado < Kansas
Vanderbilt > MS State (VANDY GOES BOWL ELIGIBLE!)
Nebraska < Texas Tech (TT wins biiiig)
Arizona State < USC
Tennessee < Georgia
Michigan State > Northwestern
Purdue < Ohio State
Arkansas < Auburn (Ew... this'll get ugly on both sides)
LSU < Florida
Oklahoma State < Missouri
Penn State > Wisconsin
Notre Dame < North Carolina
Central Florida < Miami
but watch out for Vandy and Penn State. both are playing in tough environments this weekend.
OK St> Missu
LSU > Florida
Tommy T, sounds like a whole lotta luv for your team there. Nothing like a little refreshing team spirit to lift the sole. I take it you can’t record OK/TX. I have to give a speech about Nuclear power at a symposium for the American Chemical Society. Not only will I miss OK/TX, but Syracuse/WVU as well. But, az day say, "Demz da brakes".
...Giving a speech about Nuclear power...
Our country is in good hands indeed.
No, I'll record it - but I know that I'm gonna know the final score before then. Ruins everything. I have to watch it because I haven't seen Texas play at all yet. This is a good game to get a real good feel for what Texas can do.
I love the Trojans, but honestly, I would never want to travel up into Los Angeles, just to watch some beatdown of some hapless team. I usually just give the tickets away. This particular guys "date" doesn't want to go - so he wants me to personally escort him to the game. It'll be alright. Really though, I much prefer watching the games on "hi-def" with about six different TV's blarin' all over the house, while taking in a different game no matter what room I walk into. Now, that's college football. I can probably take in parts of about eighteen different games in one Saturday. It's awesome. Plus, we got computers going and getting all the scores posted constantly. It's like watching the NYSE when everything used to be good. Oh well, those days are gone......for now.....
You know that this guy is absolutely going to want to leave by halftime, you're screwed...sounds about as much fun as a "scramble" golf tournament with clients on a Saturday during CFB Season (two weeks ago, I was in hell).
How'd I know that you would understand? I'm actually hoping that it is 50-0 by halftime. Carpenter isn't even supposed to play. I think Herring is out also. ASU is gonna get killed. So, maybe the guy will want to leave by the end of the 1st quarter if everything goes well. Fortunately for me, "the Big Dog" has ADHD and becomes easily distracted, so I don't think he's gonna be able to hang for too long. Maybe I'll just find him another "date" at the game - and leave his sorry azz there. That way I can go and watch the 2nd half of the RRS.
I'm totally spoiled by now. Really though, if I had one inclination in the world, it would be to beat Texas for the National Championship. You've got to just know that, right? So, since your boys look pretty good this year, I'll be pullin' for Texas to win the game and the Big 12 Championship. That way, if USC is fortunate enough to make it to the game, we might just be starin' across the field at the one team that really needs an azz kickin'.

Wow what a day Miss St over Vanderbilt----- Texas over Oklahoma
I agree; and, I think it did take a lot.
Oklahoma
Louisiana State
Penn State
Vanderbilt
GOOOO GATORS!!
Oh, LSU is gonna be real upset. They have not been an underdog for a very long time. Look for that Kitty to growl.
ie TE won't post on sunday. why? he's gonna be really upset.
If they lose he will be posting volumes on why they should have won.
He could write that novel now. Oh, that's right, he's already done that on the other thread. Well then, since that's out, maybe just a litany of excuses would be in order. Frankly, I'll think that it's gonna be more along the lines of a "chest thumping expedition", sprinkled in with the usual blovatation about how superior the SEC is - and how great a Florida team that LSU just beat was. But, should Vince McMahon control the outcome of this one (that would be Florida winning - add's much more drama to college football), then the only excuse that I could go with - would be the "college football is fixed" theory. It would be the only viable explaination for why LSU would lose this game. If that were to happen though, then TE can take great comfort in knowing, that Vince McMahon is gonna be helping LSU beat Alabama later on. Oh, the drama!
Harvin's threat as a running back who can be sent into the slot in motion would necessitate a linebacker to go out into coverage with him. We already have nickelback (not the band) issues in terms of some coverage disappointments. This is a soft underbelly everyone since Spurrier in '07 has picked at, but LSU has had superior athletic talent to combat it.
We have not been able to combat it this year...
If Peveto & Mallory can figure out how to stop the bleeding, then we can win going away, because our OL is going to maul UF...If that's an issue, its a shootout...
Hookem-Horns
If they get pressure on Bradford it may mask the problems they're having in their secondary. Then again, maybe their stats are due to their opponents having to throw the ball on every down because they're behind, and the 2nd and 3rd string guys are getting a lot of work.
So, fair enough. Good luck, maybe your team will prove me wrong.
"I have to admit that I've only seen one tOSU game this season and I wasnt impressed at all."
I've seen them all. I'm not sure if you've seen me comment here or not, but I predicted USC would beat OSU by 3 TDs with Beanie playing. I haven't been impressed at all either! I calls them as I sees them.
"If Texas wins it will be the refs fault or that sorry Texas D against the pass?"
Nope. It'll be because they earned it.

Bah! I'm a big boy. You're just speakin' da TRUTH! I'm looking forward to watching that Oklahoma/Texas game. Should be a real barn burner.
and i just found out i misclicked the yahoo college pickem and selected vandy. ughhh. theres a free point lost.
5 losses by any of:
Oklahoma
Texas
LSU
Florida
Missouri
Oklahoma State
Penn State
Wisconsin
Michigan State
Northwestern
Oh, wait, that part will work out...
Ok then, 2 losses by any of:
USC, Texas Tech, Georgia, Ohio State, Kansas, Vanderbilt, Illinois, Notre Dame.
Finally, losses by all of:
Wyoming, New Mexico, Southern Mississippi, Western Kentucky, Colorado State and Southern Methodist.
Ok, New Mexico is optional.
Way to go North Carolina and Mississippi State!
OK Vs. TX: See post under “OU set to hang new record on Longhorns” thread
CO at KS (15): Buffs still growing; KS still for real. Close but no cigar. Jay Hawks
UT (13) at WY: What should be smooth sailing will be a rough afternoon. UT by not much.
Vandy (14) at MS St: Bulldogs give it their all; Vandy still goes bowl eligible. Vandy
NE at TX Tech (7): Huskers won’t know what hit em (still reeling from last week). Tech
AS St at USC (9): What ever happened to Jimmy Johnson’s Sun Devils? USC
TN at GA (10): Vols won’t go away; Dawgs make em pay. GA
MI St (19) at NW (22): Spartans knock NW from ranks of un-beaten’s, and probably Top-25.
Purdue at OSU (11): Buckeyes continue to bounce back.
AR at Auburn (23): Nuttless AR is not Vandy. War Eagle!
NM at BYU (8): Cougars...by a lot!
LSU (3) at FL (12): Tebow is fine! So’s LSU’s defense. FL in a critical SEC squeaker.
OK St (17) at MO (2): Battle of un-beaten’s. One’s arguably underrated; the other arguably overrated. If Cowboys keep it close into the 3rd Qtr, they get the upset; if Tigers lead by more than 13 at the half, they get the win. It’s in Columbia – good news for the Tigers. MO.
Penn St (6) at WI (24): Badgers think they’re still in it. Jo Pa fever strikes at Camp Randal. Lions
Boise St (16) at S MS: State of Boise shows they too are Road Worthy. Broncos
IA at IN: Battle of “hard-luck” teams. IA lost last 2 by 6 pts combined. Hawkeyes
Toledo at MI: I don’t care if it is Rodriguez’s 1st year with the Wolverines. MI.
ECU at VA: Cav’s have shown they still have something left; Pirates have shown they lost what they had. VA
Syracuse at WVU: Orange needs new HC. WVU puts exclamation on that fact. Mountaineers
MN at IL: Gophers aren’t playing bad. Illini are playing better. IL
Rutgers at Cincinnati: Knights can’t get a break. Bear-Cats.
SC at KY: Defense takes one from the OBC. KY
E KS St at Texas A&M: Aggies save some face. A&M
ND at NC: At last, Davis has Tar-Heels on a roll. NC
TCU at CO St: Rams can’t get a break. Horned Frogs.
C FL at Miami: Closer than it should be. Canes.
AS at Stanford: This one could be entertaining. I’m going w/the Cardinals.

2 pm ET (14) Utah at Wyoming
6 pm ET New Mexico at (9) BYU
9:30 pm ET Air Force as SDSU
One of these games may be close.
What's your take on the Harper for Korn change by Bowden?
Anyway, Korn is the better QB and with OL woes, he's the much better choice. Harper hasn't looked good this year, and against Wake he even looked technically bad, which is something that I really haven't seen out of him. It's Korn time.
Bowden's on his way out though, which is fine with me. I am not at all convinced that Bowden is actually the one who made the decision. Either way, I'll take it.
1. Alabama 6-0
2. Ball State 6-0
3. Boise State 4-0
4. BYU 5-0
5. LSU 4-0
6. Missouri 5-0
7. Northwestern 5-0
8. Oklahoma 5-0
9. Oklahoma State 5-0
10. Penn State 6-0
11. Texas 5-0
12. Texas Tech 5-0
13. Tulsa 5-0
14. Utah 6-0
15. Vanderbilt 5-0
Oh wait, that was two weeks ago...
Nevermind.
What is crazy is that three of these teams are not ranked yet, and Ball State is not one of them.
I think Oklahoma or Texas will be one, and less teams have a bye this week, so maybe I won't be completely off this week.
OK State vs Missu
UT vs OU
Northwestern??
Ball??
PSU???
LSU???
After last weeks predicting 7 would lose, to find only 2 had, I feel the desire to be a bit more cautious... Then i find success and will get more bold... slowly this builds until I take a stupid over confident shot in the dark.
Is that for the first quarter or the entire game?
Sorry WEA I couldnt help it
haha
i mean, you certainly dont think he'll make 2 field goals do you?
sorry man. couldnt help it.
Sorry. Wrong thread. I got carried away....
Florida's defense is starting to breakdown in the 2nd half.
Forida's top two RB's...Rainey & Demps, and how they've feasted on inferior competition, and been bottled up by mediocre competition.
Against Hawaii and Arkansas, Rainey and Demps carried 25 times for 340 yards and five touchdowns.
Against Miami, Tennessee and Ole Mis, Rainey and Demps carried 19 times for 60 yards and no touchdowns.
There's a reckoning coming tonight, ladies & gents...
The fun begins at 7:28pm, CST...
You're definitely right on the money with that. Unfortunately for you, it isn't the reckoning you were expecting...and man, is it gonna leave a mark.
Right now it's 41-14. I feel your pain. Funny how a game can get away from a team, even though you think they have the talent, coaching and speed to stay with the other team, isn't it?
Spot on, again!
It has been a lot of fun to watch though.
How about the ruffing the kicker on the OU punt- lots of bad calls both ways- I predicted that if Texas won the OU fans would blame the refs- really good game OU has a great team beat UT everywere but the scoreboard and thats what counts
Hookem-Horns BTW yall shut down UT's run game-I'm impressed two great teams evenly matched-awesome game-lived up to expectations

As you will see by my 5,249 posts yesterday, I was stuck in front of a computer all day yesterday at work. I was doing software/firmware reloads/upgrades, and redirection and bundling of traffic on our network all day. Fortunately I got to have 2 TVs (and fanblogs!) in front of me as well. My point in telling you this is that I think I did a great job with it, but I'm pretty sure it would bore anyone here (unless you're into networking) to tears. Heck, you might already be bored to tears just from this paragraph! Anyway, if it's posted, I really wouldn't mind checking it out.
Both OU & Texas have good teams and we all get to face Texas Tech, Ok State and KU before its all said and done. Horns got to get ready for Missu this week.
I respect both you and Ron and I'm glad that yall show some class unlike some others that I wont mention by name.

My vote: definitely
Really though it was good to finally see Utah play a whole game. With the BYU win over UCLA diminishing rapidly in ita significance Utah may be the lead BCS AQ-3 team. (Automatic Qualifier-line three)
By the way, I have never seen a game a Wyoming without the trash all over the field at the end of the game. What is up with that?
That is one tough kid, and he put on one helluva show.

Except for that thing about beating him head to head.

That Oklahoma Kicker should get an Oscar nomination for that acting job on the kick. That was the point I decided I wanted Texas to win. Until then I was happy as long as one of them lost.

I don't know how Kentucky lost that one! We did everything possible in the first half to hand the game to them on a platter. Garcia is the one!
I wondered why they didn't use Korn earlier to jumpstart the offense. Things have gotten out of hand at Clemson, and I don't understand why. Were expectations too high?
I don't think my expectations for 10-2 regular season and a bid in the ACC championship game were too high when you look at the level of talent that Clemson can put on the field. I just think it's the first time that everyone is aware of that talent, and Bowden has been exposed. This time, because everyone is aware, there is no excuse.
obviously the officiating, was a joke.
kirk and the other guy were laughing about it the whole game.
but that's not what im pissed about.
I AM pissed about all of these personal fouls i've seen this season. thats 15 FREAKIN YARDS.
in my opinion, if there wasn't malicious intent by an angry, tired, mindless defensive player, then there is no personal foul.
if a guy doesn't damn near get his head ripped off, it is not a 15 yard facemask.
if the QB gets driven into the turf after the play is blown dead, go ahead, throw the flag.
but you do NOT call a flag for a late hit on the sideline unless the contact starts when both feet of both players are out of bounds, AND, the hit is actually a good one.
#28 for OU got ****ed. twice. that was ridiculous. this isn't flag football, nor is it soccer. players shouldn't get rewarded for diving.
now, on to kickers/punters.
it is NOT a 15 yard penalty to touch these players. if it were, then they shouldnt be wearing pads and a helmet. players are afraid to block punts and kicks, in fear of running into the damned kicker/punter.
its ruining special teams. unless a player's torso actually comes into contact with the kicker's/punter's torso, no flag should be thrown.
15 yards is a TON of yards to be given away on some BS "unsportsmanlike" call.
rough is the name of the game, and if you're gonna throw that flag, i better see a damn good hit in return.
im out.
The Bad officiating was distributed equaly- sound like a OU fan they always bitch about the refs after a loss. ha ha ha- cant help it its the truth
Really alot of bad calls both ways, but you can expect the OU faithful to bitch about how they got robbed etc.etc. I told yall that weeks ago
Btw I love to see the OU fans getting back to reality- OK you were #1 for one week, thats over now, brag about how bad yall are OK
Hookem-Horns
I know it's going to sound crazy, but last night before I hit the sack, I left my perspective with you guys. You found my analysis interesting, agreed with parts, respectfully disagreed with others, and we went our merry way. I repeat; this is going to sound crazy, or sound like a flat out like, but I swear to you; it's true. This morning, before I got up to take off on a 3.5 hour drive to give this speech, I swear I had a dream that I had come home from my commitment to find TX had beaten OK by 12 pts, after having scored 38 in the game. I wanted to post it on fanblogs, but I just didn't have time to do it before I had to leave. Believe it or not as you see fit; congratulations again all the same!!!
i was ranting about personal fouls in general for every game.
and the RRR was the straw that broke the camel's back. so i went off...
It started immediately in the USC/ASU game also. First it was the "roughing the passer" - followed immediately by the "inadverdent facemask". Both calls were pure BS. My first thought was: "what are we playing - flag football"? How in the world are you supposed to tackle these guys. Man, they have always been hard to bring down. Of course, USC would go on to pick up some more "roughing" calls. But, when Carpenter gets completely wacked - it's all good. Bottom line is that I agree with all of your post. These rules really blow!
GT plays their 3rd string QB for the entire game and narrowly defeats Gardner-Webb 10 to 7. GW missed a 44 yard FG that would have sent the game to overtime. I guess that puts to rest any hope the Yellow Jackets will be ranked this week.
I also suspect you are correct that: they were looking ahead to next week. Judging by the stats, the defense also played pretty badly this week and you can't blame that on the third-string QB (can you?)..
Next week will be interesting. I have no idea what to expect from GT against CU.
Sorry for all you OU guys. Tomcat should be strutting his stuff wherever he is.
GO DAWGS
That's what happens when you stay all 4 years. He has been on the verge of his "breakout season" since he got here but it has never really materailized. Don't get me wrong, I love MoMass, the kid can play but he just never breaks through. I thought he played pretty well tonight after he got his clock rung. Those hillbilly's were laying the wood today. You should see the lick their LB Berry laid on Knowshon. I thought he would have a concussion for sure. Maybe he does, who knows with the injuries we have had.
That GT performace agains GW today must make you feel a little bad about next week's game. All you need is for Tommy to get a few wins. I know how badly you want him gone.
GO DAWGS!!
It's been a rough year for me. I of course want to see Clemson do well and I want the best for our players, but I certainly want this misery of the Bowden experiment to come to an end. Hopefully the end is nigh. On the other hand, this failure of a season has caused me to be able to watch other games more objectively and make picks and bets accordingly, and this season is going quite swimmingly for me not only in the fanblogs pick'em but also in the betting arenas as well. At least some good has come from it.

That ought to shake the polls up a little.
Boise State vs. Hawaii
BYU @ TCU
Alabama vs Ole Miss
Texas vs. Missouri
Texas Tech @ Texas A&M
Utah vs. Colorado State
Penn State vs. Michigan
Tulsa vs UTEP
Oklahoma State vs. Baylor
Ball State - BYE
I only see 4 semi dangerous games here. We could feasibly roll into week 9 with 10 unbeatens. That seems like a lot this late in the season.
Usually only one or two teams from outside the big 6 are undefeated. This year their are 5. Take away three of those and it would look much more normal.
Penn State @ Ohio State
Texas Tech @ Kansas
Texas @ Oklahoma State
I see four on your list CJoe, that I do not believe deserve a spot in the hunt for NC.
With about one minute left in the second quarter, UF kicks off to LSU. The return guy (Holiday?) catches the ball in-bounds and his first step is out-of-bounds at the 13 yard line. I'm thinking great! Ball down at the 13, right? RIGHT??!! NOOOOO, SORRY! This is treated the same as a kick going out-of-bounds and the ball is placed at the 40 yard line. Adding insult to injury, LSU drives the shortened field and scores a touchdown with 5 seconds remaining in the half.
That has got to be the stupidest rule I've ever heard of in all my years of playing and watching football.
Some of it is starting to look like an Italian soccer match at this point...
I have seen in the NFL players standing intentionally with one foot out of bounds to exploit this rule.
With a kick that close to the sidelines it is bad coaching that he tried to catch it inbounds that close to the sidelines.
Neither of these scenarios is what occured. The receiver caught the ball in-bounds and his next step was out-of-bounds. Why should a kick-off have this special dispensation that is not afforded to any other play in the game (i.e. you step out-of-bounds and the ball is down right there)?
This is why I thought the call was wrong: He landed after the ball with one foot in bounds and one foot out of bounds. Since his first foot landed inbounds it should have been a catch, just like a reception. If the out of bounds foot landed first it is the correct call.
Urban Meyer is going to practice this and expect him to exploit this rule in the near future. Picture a kick off near the side lines and the player stepping out of bounds and reaching in to catch the ball, or catching it in the air with a running start and his momentum carrying him out of bounds.
Like yourself, I can't stand these new clock rules.

I won't include Boise, though I could. It seems to me they deserve a shot.
These teams are in contention for a BCS Bowl but only two of these five teams have any chance at the national title, those are BYU and Utah. Their test will be the ability to not let the attention go to their head and each other.

Granted, Clemson is all cupcaky so far this year. But they normally whip our butts. They have a lot of talent. They will self motivate for us. Coaching, good or bad, will not be necessary for them, that game.
(I haven't heard "$hit fire" since college.)
Rambling Gator...Gatorhippy...Where the hell is my crow, dammit? It's late, I'm just in to the house, and I'm hungry, dammit!
I have to say that the game was the most unexpected, surprising, and shocking result I've witnessed out of this football team in many a moon.
It's the first time I've ever seen a Les Miles football team not show up to play.
Our offensive & defensive lines were blown off the ball, all night long. I'm going to say that again, because it does my soul good to be hurt by the reality of it...
Our offensive and defensive lines were blown off the ball, all night long.
Our co-coordinators have out-thought themselves. We have a young secondary playing a more complicated coverage scheme, and it looks BAD...
We continue to trot Danny McCray out (#44, who was on the field in coverage in the slot on the 70 yard TD pass that he tipped on 3rd & 12 to start the game off; and again on the Tebow red-zone TD pass in the 1st half) to try to cover slot receivers in the spread offense.
The mark of a good coach, if you ask me, is always that they will adjust their system to their personnel. Meld their philosophy to their talent.
With Mallory & Peveto as our Co-DC's, we continue to trot the same kid out there and attempt to play the same defense that they envision we have the personnel for. When he is continually-not just picked on, but-scored upon, they continue to trot him out there.
The kid's had no less than 3 touchdowns scored by teams directly going after him since the Arkansas game last year. We've had at least 5 plays where a team converted a 3rd or 4th down on a scoring drive, or out-and-out scored touchdowns by going after him.
At some point, these coordinators need to realize that if the defense they want to run is asking this of McCray, THEN THEY CANNOT RUN THIS DEFENSE SUCCESSFULLY.
I do not see them changing their scheme. I see no changes being made at halftime. The adjustments were ridiculous...
Our offense puts 14 up in two straight possessions, and the response from the defense was something akin to "Get out there and leak like a sieve!"
Truly disheartening...
Les Miles had his own players on defense expressing frustration with the coaching staff over the myriad substitutions they were trotting out onto the field over and over again late after they had to blow a timeout after not getting the right personnel package onto the field...
Having said that, our rushing attack was humbled, our staff was completely out-coached, and our players were not up for this game, at all...
The jaw-jacking that this defense was doing after it was obviously getting trounced was embarrassing. Defensive Tackle Drake Nevis getting pumped up about stopping someone for no gain? Check the scoreboard, Drake...When you've given up 44 points to that point, how about just drinking a nice big warm glass of SHUT THE FACK UP!?
Tyson Jackson getting juiced up and woofing at Tebow after a sack...WHEN YOU'RE DOWN 30 POINTS? From a senior...That's troublesome...
Very disturbing performances from the hallmarks of our teams in the trenches on both sides...and very disturbing that after two weeks off to prepare, this is how our team responded, and this is the "Gameplan" this staff threw together on defense....
Disturbing, indeed...
I can tell you that this experience was very valuable for the skill position players on offense. It was good for our young players on both sides of the ball. This is a character building opportunity...and it will serve us well down the road...
Sounds like the same problem that most unbeaten, and defending NC's go thru, and that's about it. Florida finally got those two RB,s more involved. The game was on the road, at the swamp, against a very good team. Just about the same scenario's as what has happened for Georgia and USC. Very hyped up teams that have lost shortly afterword. The press in this country actually contribute's to the downfall of alot of these teams. These young men, more often than not, get completely full of themselves. I can't really understand the phenomenum, as you well know, I'm about one of the most humble people around. This is probably the best thing that could happen for your team - and they will bounce back. It's just too bad that they did lose by so much. This now does not bode well for Alabama. We are seeing a trend this year on this regard.
