  • OU_Ron · 1 year ago
    That's fair !
  • Zac · 1 year ago
Ron, I'm a bit surprised Ben didn't say go Boise.
  • NMLSooner · 1 year ago
You can. Your going to have to deal with losing no matter what happens though.
  • shiguy · 1 year ago
Actually.... they are the Cardinal. one of only 4 teams who's name does not end in an 's'.
  • Ben Prather · 1 year ago
    Wow, nioce trivia!

Who are the other 3? (Illini are one I would think)
  • Clemson_Joe · 1 year ago
    There's 11 I believe...
    Stanford Cardinal
    Notre Dame Fighting Irish
    Alabama Crimson Tide
    Tulane Green Wave
    North Carolina State Wolfpack
    Nevada Wolfpack
    Syracuse Orange
    Navy Midshipmen
    Illinois Fighting Illini
    Marshall Thundering Herd
    North Texas Mean Green

Sorry man, trivia's an even bigger obsession for me than college football.
  • Kevin @ Fanblogs · 1 year ago
    I think you missed one.
  • Clemson_Joe · 1 year ago
    Yep, I sure did.

    Tulsa Golden Hurricane

I swear I thought there was an odd number, but I guess not.
  • Kevin @ Fanblogs · 1 year ago
    My pleasure to assist. ;-)
  • Zac · 1 year ago
Syracuse are the Orangemen, and let's not forget St. Johns, used to be the Red-Men, now the Red Storm. (Do they even have football?)
  • Clemson_Joe · 1 year ago
They used to be the Orangemen. I think that they thought that was sexist and dropped it. Now, they're just the Orange.
  • Zac · 1 year ago
They've been nothing but orange juice these last 2 seasons. I really hope they don't pick up Edsall from UConn. I'd like to see them pick up someone from somewhere else around the country.

Oregon will be wearing a limited edition...

When's the las time they went through an entire two season timeframe with the same jersey's from beginning to end?

Where's Mayor at...He should be able to tell us...
  • Ben Prather · 1 year ago
Lets make it only two in a season. all teams have a dark and a light jersey for home/away games.
  • shiguy · 1 year ago
I have a question if you go to or are a fan of Oregon, what jersey do you get when you want to buy a gameday jersey? I mean most people at wvu just have a hard enough time debating between the regular blue jersey or the "running banana" jersey for our home games.
  • Kevin @ Fanblogs · 1 year ago
Most fans buy the traditional green.
  • Zac · 1 year ago
    Let's not forget French's Mustard.
  • War_Eagle_Atlanta · 1 year ago
I did the math. Oregon has more uniform possibilities than they have hashbrown combinations at Waffle House...
  • Ben Prather · 1 year ago
Any combination of: Smothered, covered, peppered, diced, chunked, capped gives 2^6 or 64 possibilities, single order, double or triple, gives 192 possibilities. Add in the possibilities of the 7 sauces, and salt and pepper, and you multiply again by 2^9 to get 98,304 possibilities, about par for the number of Oregon combinations.

I'll stick with the smothered and covered, with salt Mustard and 57 sauce. Occationally smothered, covered and peppered, with salt and Casa de Waffle picante sauce, but then again I didn't like my teams black uniforms either. Keep it to two choices: home and away.
  • Bama_DevilDog · 1 year ago
    I'm starting to get hungry.

Being stuck out her in Cali, I wish I could delight myself in some Awful Waffle.

Maybe the All Star breakfeast gives closer odds.
  • War_Eagle_Atlanta · 1 year ago
Don't forget scattered. But they all come scattered. It's automatic--like getting 400 points on the SAT for signing your name. I get mine well done, too. They come out closer to waffle-fry consistency.

I had occasion to go to the WH world headquarters back in the mid 1990s and was curious to see a big sign prominently displayed in their office. It said: God Bless the Cash-Paying Customer. I adopted that sentiment for my business, too.
  • WarEagleFan · 1 year ago
I worked there while in college and had the great delight to go to the HQ and meet and greet with the founder and his son ( now the CEO ).
  • Bama_DevilDog · 1 year ago
    Well, Let thus be known;

Auburn and Alabama fans can dog cuss, fight, run each other in the ground, and battle for control over the Yellow Hammer State.

But, Waffle House can bring the feuding sides together. Yes, Hashbrowns, Eggs, Waffles, and a cup of coffe can put the feud to the side. I hope we can have a drunk waffle house night together.
  • War_Eagle_Atlanta · 1 year ago
Maybe we'll FedEx you a breakfast after the Iron Bowl, DD, unless you're travelling East...

  • Porcine · 1 year ago
We have a few of them and some Huddle Houses.
  • TigerEducated · 1 year ago
I think Google won't hire you unless you can actually extrapolate all of those combinations from memory...
  • Clemson_Joe · 1 year ago
It would have to be back when they wore "John Deere colors". A good friend of mine is with JD and he told me a few years back that they'd won a copyright on that color combination, and Oregon couldn't wear it anymore. I assume there is validity to that since they haven't worn it since he told me. If memory serves correct, that's the last time they wore the same uniform for even one season
  • Tom_Blogical · 1 year ago
    QUACK!

    Since we're talking about uniforms...

We have these uniforms to look forward to on Gameday this weekend.

    Go Rattlers?
  • Kevin @ Fanblogs · 1 year ago
    Hell yes, go Rattlers!
  • Clemson_Joe · 1 year ago
I think I'm going to have to take the Pirates in this one. That'll help out SC State's SOS.

Ah, what the hell am I talking about? I don't care even remotely who wins.

Tell me why Gameday is at FAMU again?
  • Ben Prather · 1 year ago
I think they decided to cover one division 2 or 3 game a year last year. Why not, I mean really, what is Gameday anyways?

Besides, they get to party in Tallahassee. Its a party town no matter what game is being played.
  • Kevin @ Fanblogs · 1 year ago
GameDay did a HBC game last year, too.

Well, gang, thanks to superior computer illiteracy, this is as close to pick-em as I can get. Here we go…

IN at Penn St: Fagetaboutit! Lions.
OSU at IL: A tempting upset special - Since 9/13, IL has lost every other game, including last week's loss at W MI. The trend lines them up to beat OSU. Could happen, but I'm going with the Buckeyes.
GA at Auburn: Not quite enough "D" to stop Stafford & company; not near enough "O" to make it interesting. Sorry WarEagle. Dawgs.
TX at KS: Horns hand Jayhawks 5th loss, with one more to come at MO.
SC at FL: "Game" Cocks no match for Gators in Gainsville.
NC at MD: Road wins have been tough in the ACC; Terps still in it. Heels in a close one.
Cal at OR St: Beavers may have beaten Trojans, but they're not USC. Bears!
BYU at Air Force: Next week Cougars visit UT; Air Force invades TCU. Neither can afford to look ahead. Upset Special - Air Force.
Boise St at ID: Call me when Boise plays OK. Bronco's
MO at IA St: Ibid… Oh yeah, MO.
USC at Stanford: Sorry Cardinal, OR St beat ya to it. USC.
MS St at AL: Tide don't get "Croomed" this year. Bama.
OK St at CO: One Herd-O-Buffs, skinned alive. Cowboys.
BC at FSU: Another tempting upset special, but I think the Noles pull it out.
Tulsa at Houston: This one's up in the air. Cougars in mild upset.
UT at San Diego St: If Ute's look ahead… NAH!!!!
Troy at LSU: Troy makes it a little more interesting than Appy St did. And, that's not saying much. Tigers!
Rutgers at S FL: Bulls end Knights win streak.

I also like MI over N'Wstrn, Clemson over Duke, IA over Purdue, Navy over ND, NM over CO St, Ole Miss over UL Monroe, ECU over S MS, Wake over NC St, WI over MN, NE over KS St, Baylor over TX A&M, Marshall over C FL, ASU over WA St, AS over OR, UConn over Syracuse, KY over Vandy, and UCLA over WA.

Enjoy you weekend! God bless our troops!! God bless America!!!

Ole Miss 59, LA Monroe 0

Anyone know if thats the biggest shutout of the year or not?
  • The_Observer · 1 year ago
Maybe in the SEC, but not the NCAA. I know USC beat Washington State 69-0.
  • USC1801 · 1 year ago
I wish we had played LA Monroe today.

The agony of defeat is a hard pill to swallow. Particularily when it hits you like a freight train. It wasn't even a game, and I had to walk away . . . couldn't stand to watch the beating.
  • rjamesh · 1 year ago
UF is the now the first SEC team ever to win 6 consecutive conference games by at least 28 points - each.
  • USC1801 · 1 year ago
I saw where they have outscored their opponents 101-0 in the first quarter.
  • 1Tomcat · 1 year ago
Is that for an entire season or just two games? only 101 points?
Check out some Texas or OU first quarter stats
  • USC1801 · 1 year ago
If my memory serves me correctly, it was for the last 5 games. Good catch.
    Check out the SEC's defense.
  • 1Tomcat · 1 year ago
Really i didn't know that- happens all the time in other leagues- Did that start following the Ole Miss game ?

the fact their loosing if they loose that is what they will say
  • Bama_DevilDog · 1 year ago
The dismal end of last season for the Tide was introduced after a heartbreaking loss to LSU. I can’t express the derailing effect the loss had on Bama’s season hope. Losing to Louisiana Monroe was shocker coming off a LSU loss. Tonight watching the highlights during Bama’s trot over Mississippi State, I couldn’t help but compare the tired teams and the relation of poor play. Tonight Bama came out lethargic, slow, and unfocused. I could see the wear and tear from the LSU game still lingering in the air like rotten gumbo. LSU has switched roles with the Chrisom Tide from last year. Bama will roll over to the SEC Championship while LSU will fight to keep a somewhat respectable season.
  • War_Eagle_Atlanta · 1 year ago
And after this year's Saban bowl, LSU almost pulled a ULM on Troy in their next week stupor...
  • USC1801 · 1 year ago
Thankfully, LSU kept the SEC reputation from being tarnished by Troy. That was a second half comeback if there ever was one!
  • Tom_Blogical · 1 year ago
You mean 4th quarter comeback. LSU scored 30 in the last quarter.
  • Bama_North · 1 year ago
One of these days little Troy is going to really mess up and beat someone they aren't supposed to...
  • ROLLTIDE_73 · 1 year ago
I think they have already a few times
  • USC1801 · 1 year ago
Yeah, they finally "woke up" and realized they were playing Troy.
  • PittsburghTiger · 1 year ago
can we finally be done with the stupid celebration where the guys jump into each other?!!!!

the kid from fsu got hurt, possibly an acl, after celebrating an interception.

as dumb as ted ginn when his ankle was hurt while another buckeye tackled him to celebrate his kickoff return in the bcs title game.....

    ENOUGH!

bring back raising the roof...no chance of injury there
  • Zac · 1 year ago
"bring back raising the roof...no chance of injury there"

Other than aggravating the rotor-cuff, you're right. The one I get a kick out of involved 2 players crashing their heads together (wearing helmets). There's a rule against helmet-helmet contact by opponents in games for a reason; yet, following a big play you often see guys grab each other by the shoulder pads and give each other the ultimate head-butt. I actually saw a replay, many moons back, where 2 players on the same team did that, and one wasn't wearing his helmet. OWWWE!!! Then you have guys like Owen Schmidt, who abuses their helmet on a daily basis by smashing it into their own forehead after they screwed up. Makes ya wanna scratch your sack.
  • U.of S.C.1978 · 1 year ago
Well fellas, that hurt some to watch. I'm glad Mr. Spurrier threw Garcia into the fire this year. Now the kid has an idea of just how hard he is going to have to work if he wants to play with the best I'm going do what Mr.Spurrier is doing, put it behind me. One more thing, Good luck to the Gators in their pursuit of the NC this year.
  • USC1801 · 1 year ago
    USC1978:

I'm with you on Garcia. Spurrier knows what he's doing with the young QB. I hope we can get our act together on offense next year. If we can continue to improve on defense, too, we'll give 'em all a run for their money.
On another note, have you heard we have any hot top prospects at RB? The rumor mill has a 4star prospect, Jarvis, interested in SC.
  • U.of S.C.1978 · 1 year ago
I definitely feel that there has been continuous progress within the program. Not to mention, this season is not over yet. Rumor or wishful thinking, that's all I know about Jarvis. Recruiting looks good so far, according to Rivals. Two more wins and things look a lot different than they do now.

    TE

I think the Ducks last wore the Green, Yellow and White uniforms in 1999. Not too sure of the exact year that we took Phil's $55 million and agreed to go Roller Derby.

The new Helmets were ok, but wait until you see the new Uniforms with Duck wings on the shoulders replacing the Iron Grid that was there before.

Here you go you traditionalists, personally I like our new costumes (my wife calls them "outfits").
