Fanblogs Open Conference Championship Thread
Lets see if our offense can kick it into high-gear.
Could Tulsa be the team that breaks through to a BSC game-perhaps they should be ranked
This thing is going to be high scoring game maybe 100 points total
After BU beats OU this looks like a game to watch
Sicem-Bears
Florida > Arkansas
Oklahoma > Baylor
Kentucky and Bama.. even though Bama has flexed their muscle, I still don't really know much about Kentucky... they haven't really played anyone.

7 unbeatens will lose.
Upsets:
Michigan over Illinois
Wisconsin over Ohio State
North Carolina over Connecticut
I have absolutely no decent knowledge regarding Eastern Michigan and Bowling Green, etc...
One Dollar and a Fist-Full of Pride.
Nothing more, nothing less. :)
I am more than willing to bet less.
I came up with the $1 idea when I saw "Trading Places" and cringed at the idea of having to wear the colors of the other team if a friend's team beats one of my teams....*shivers*....
Now to name the 7 of the 18 unbeatens that go down this week would be tough, well South Florida is one. Kentucky and Alabama will be another. Utah, BYU, Boise State, Northwestern and LSU have won already or have the week off.
This leaves 5 of the following 10 teams:
In order of vulnerability, IMO:
Connecticut @ North Carolina
Auburn @ Vanderbilt
Ball State @ Toledo
Texas A&M @ Oklahoma State
Texas Tech @ Kansas State
Rice @ Tulsa
Penn State @ Purdue
Texas @ Colorado
Missouri @ Nebraska
Oklahoma @ Baylor
Has a team ever shut out three teams in a row before?
Has a team ever shut out three teams in a row before?
Alabama had a streak of 4 in 66 and another of 5 in 61.
WAR EAGLE!
GO CANES!
KURT, YOU'RE NOT IN MY TOP 25 EITHER!
and
GET A DEGREE FROM (insert AU logo) AND A (insert Vandy logo) GRAD MIGHT HIRE YOU!
That sh-t is funny as hell, especially the last one. Of course, all you have to do is insert whateve logo's you want to make it your own.
Today, I'm pulling for Florida, Auburn, Alabama, Ole Piss, Nebraska and Florida St. Hope everyone's teams do well today. I put a pork shoulder on the smoker at 9am and it won't come off until 5pm. Additionally, and to accompany the shoulder, will be a rack of St Louis cut pork ribs and two chickens. Of course, they were all seasoned/injected last night. The ribs and chicken will hit the pit at about 2pm and finish about the time the shoulder will. Anybody hungry??? LOL Come on down to Thibodaux.

Gotta love it! Nerds of the world, unite!
i also saw one that read:
"4 and 0 isnt just my GPA anymore!"
i was fortunate enough to be at the game. thats 2 gameday games for me so far this year. and 2 auburn gameday losses SAAWEET.
2008 gameday games:
Alabama 2-0
Auburn 0-2
love it!
Arizona State does look like they are NOT a good team, Tommy.
Utah had a nice win, and with Michigan doing so much better, it only helps the Utes even more.
WVU squeaked by Rutgers and it seems more so that neither one of those teams are very good.
Penn State looked pretty good handling Purdue. In my mind, they are the team to beat in the Big Televen, but we'll have to wait and see how the Ohio State/Wisconsin game plays out.
Kansas is definitely overrated. It's time for them to drop quite a few spots.
Last but not least, Appalachian State is blowing out the Citadel. GO APPS!!!
I wish we'd stop being our own worst enemy.
Unless you are talking about Tennessee. Tennessee is really really bad this year.
It must mean something, deep underneath all that bile and hate.
It simply means what is shown -- the other teams are getting power and the more "set in stone" (at least in the minds of the media and most of the sportscenter guys) teams are.... for lack of better adjectives, not so good. (Ex. Tennessee, Auburn)
GT only had 10 votes in the last AP Poll, and beating an improved Duke so badly might not make as much as a splash, but given a loss by Fresno State, they might get in.
And I definately am disgusted with Jevan Snead's play ever since the Wake Forest game. That late interception with us on a drive to send it to overtime made everyone in the stadium go $^#!^!#$$@#$@#^$#%#
I have season tickets, I know, I was there.
I don't agree with you about Cal or Michigan State though.
Evidently Bellotti thinks he can win the game by punting...when you're down by 17,20 and then 27 points, why punt on 4th and one, 4th and inches and even 4th and 27? Very disappointed in our coaching.
I hope Sanchez is ok. Sorry about the horse collar...
:( hahahahahah
Wreck'em!
Texas Tech
Oklahoma State
Texas
Oklahoma
Missouri
No doubt one of the toughest leagues this year and nobody can really argue any differently until after the bowl games, these teams are legit. They are all real strong teams and they are going to beat each other up, next weeks RRS game is huge, ought to be a good one.
Hookem-Horns
1) Oklahoma
2) Louisiana State
3) Missouri
4) Texas
5) Alabama
I wonder will the pollsters show Alabama love and keep 'em #2. They should drop and Texas, you know I don't like 'em, should move up.
We went to Oxford and beat a strong team, and our former defensive coordinator, not to mention Nutt. Chris Smelley QB'ed and took a step to the next level, 327 passing. We developed a receiving corp in this game, much love to them all. A new name here, Jason Barnes.
The defense gave up too much ground, especially early, but they got real. An offense showed up and pulled it's own weight. I don't care too much what our record is at the moment. What matters more to me, is that there is not one damn team in the whole nation, that will take Mr. Spurrier's team lightly.
GO GAMECOCKS!

On another note, my top five:
Oklahoma
Penn St
Missouri
Texas
BYU
Auburn's done their part to help Vandy go to Atlanta. Now we can only sit by and watch...
My Dad is an Alum and season ticket holder for years & years and even with foundation contributions its almost impossible to get tickets. This game is sold out for decades and only ex-players, coaches, celebrities and big contributers get a shot at a ticket.
Any luck on your end ? Craigs list, E-Bay or from the OU side? Going to the Biggest game of the year ?
Hookem Horns
Besides, I'm too depressed to be spending big money on tickets to any game...
After it's over, I'm going to Disneyworld--maybe in time to see Auburn in the Cap One Bowl?
Damn I wanted your guys to beat Vandy. They scored 13 quick but couldn't put anything else on the board. I know you've got to be hurtin' right now brother. Hang in there though. Anything can happen from week to week. You guys just need to get on a little run, that's all.

but i missed a week so im pretty low in the rankings.
but the weeks ive picked, ive only had one losing weekend. so not bad.
It helps you guys that we lost another one. That essentially removes us from contention in the west, barring a miracle. Good game for Vandy. I like a good underdog, so I'll root for them the rest of the way. It would be a miracle if they ended up in Atlanta, but you never know. They could win one of two against FL and GA and possibly get in...
... Alabama vs. Vandy in the SEC championship?
...Nah, only in our dreams.... or nightmares....
....right?
I am not suprised about Vandy. They have been giving the SEC fits for a few years now. They weren't winning but they were competetive. They have been winning the close ones and that has what has made the difference.
The odds of them making it through Miss St, GA, FLA, TN without 2 losses is pretty slim.
GO DAWGS!
Must be real hard for Cornhuskers to be blown out of their own stadium by Mizzou.
