In this day and age, CEO's are expected to he held accountable when they run their companies into the ground and should NOT receive a golden parachute when fired.

Tubberville is the CEO of Auburn football, has run it into the ground while blaming others and should be fired .

Saban goes to Tuscaloosa, takes on a squad full of parolees and leads them to #2 in only his second season. Seems like Auburn could hire someone of quality also.

Disgruntled? No, I have felt this way since day one--TT should never have been hired and now is the time to rectify that poor decision.

Are there 3 more losses coming this season?

You apparently forget the Tigers totalled 3 wins in 1998...

Their lowest win % for the time span your speaking of and the season prior to Tube being hired...

Hell, I d say Tommy saved Auburn Football...

Tuberville goes through assistants the way Bama used to go through HC's. This team simply does not have the talent upfront and most people mis-read this team's ability in the preseason. You can't keep firing assistants until you are suddenly good.

Well Auburn's offense has sucked for the last three years. The defense always won the game. The offense was just there. It was not exciting. Tuberville wanted to juice it up so recruits (and fans) would not be so frustrated. Don't blame him, he's a defensive guy. I predict he has listened and some coordinators on the staff will go this year. As far as Franklin is concerned, the man would do interviews and make comments like "I'm a dumb ass" and "I'm an idiot". Well, hello, after a while you start to believe those things, including the players. Can't blame Tuberville, the only option he had was to let someone go or fire himself. He is a good leader, he has done a great job at Auburn, run a clean program and honestly, who else would you get? Muschamp..who is unproven as a head coach; Bowden..not another and remember he was on the hot seat at Clemson; Franchone...come on; Nutt...he has to get over the hump and no better than Tuberville but a good coach. Remember what happened at Alabama and resolve that changing coaches can lead to a lot of turmoil. Tuberville has been good for Auburn and done a great job. One year does not make a career and a legend. You got to take the good with the bad. Tuberville will make changes on his staff. He loves Auburn and wants to stay and still has years of coaching in him.

I think we already know Tuberville's side, since he fired Franklin. It was incredible to see such a simplistic, back-to-the-basics offensive scheme last night.

Just curious here, but what is the reason for Auburn trying to become a spread offensive team? I thought they moved the football just fine before they brought in that new offensive coordinator. But then again, I can honestly say the last time I watched Auburn play was against Alabama last year.....BOOMER!

Well ive said this before it was doomed from the start.

If AU truly wanted to commit to a spread offence (which IMO they dont) then they should have at least allowed the man to bring in some assistant coaches. Either that or save some money and just buy his book.

So then whos to blame? Plenty of that to go around. First TT for not allowing him to succeed by giving him assitant coach support. Not one single guy on AU staff knows this offence, Blocking schemes are different, QBs play different, RB's have to run different. Receivers have to run a different type of route where they read the defense and have several options.

So what does Franklin do to maybe help his chances ?
He brings in a junior college transfer that knows his system, Problem is the kid has suffered a serious shoulder injury and is a shadow of what Franklin remembers him to be.

So Franklin also must take some blame. I think dollar bills and ego had a lot to do with it
But he certainly knew before he took the job he wasnt going to get much help.

And lastly the assistant coaches. What can i say . I remember i said here on FAN BLOGS that the reason Muschamp left was because it was a no win situation for him at AU. He would have to play second fiddle to an offensive coordinatior that was going to get all the publicity. If the spread were successful hed get no recognition and if it wasnt then hed be coaching a Defense that was being left out to get hammered.
He was definately the smartest one of the bunch. His situation at Texas was a win win for him.

I still think at this point it would be a huge mistake to fire Tubbs but it wouldnt suprise me too much if hes gone after this year.

hahaha ya that is true. Although Sanders also was looking good along with some of the other players which seemed to be finding some of the right holes. Was definitely some scary times during the first quarter.

If anyone cares to listen to the whole 35 minute interview, you listen to it here. There's nothing earth-shattering here. You get one side of a story. Franklin can't come out and bad-mouth Auburn because he still needs to get another job one day, and he's already been black-listed from coaching once--after Hal Mumme's stint at Kentucky...

And his side of the story better satisfy you because you won't get Tuberville's side...

One thing I did notice about last night was the fact that just as I expected the AU defense was freaking massive! Much larger than the WVU players like to the point it was freakishly obvious from the second level. That being said though they were also very slow. Don't tag this as a hate message from a WVU fan i was just making an observation that multiple times the defenses and O lines worked very well if they got down and locked in that shoulder to shoulder wall. When they clicked together there was almost no getting though. That, unfortunately for AU, didn't always happens and as a result they started getting burned on the one on one leading to QB sacks and devine slipping through holes. Maybe after that game Tub's will reconsider the usefulness of the spread........Then again given history maybe not.......

The pressure was on Tuberville & his assistants...and you saw the results...They might rule the roost, but those same assistants that Tuberville lets hang around sure seem to have sh!t in the nest, right about now...

There comes a point in time where Tuberville needs to realize that staff continuity is one thing, but so is having a job, yourself...

He seems to have just dug in his heels to the detriment of his program...and it shows, on the field...
