SOMEBODY, has obviously made the decision not to give up on this young man. Rightly or wrongly, that's where it is. The point is, why give attention to it? We don't know what Nutt's motivation is; we can't read his mind. So, why give this the benefit of the press?

One of two things will happen to this man. He'll either develop a sense of real honor, realize the gravity of what he's done in the past, and utilize this 3rd or 4th chance to make up for it by making something of himself; OR, he'll laugh at what he's gotten away with, AGAIN, not learn from it, and wind up doing something else stupid.

Be advised; this is not about, AL, FL, LSU, or any specific school. This is not about Houston Nutt, Urban Meyer, Nick Saban, or any specific coach. This is about the individual and his choices. Some kids can't be saved. We are just not qualified to do it. He either wants to do well and will work toward that end, or he won't.

Crimsonroll6, I grieve with you, given the untimely loss of your son. You, your family, and your son are now the subject of my prayers. I laud your bravery and willingness to share, not to mention state your opinion. That said, this is a college football blog. Preaching is best served…elsewhere. Yeah it's me TE. Wow, things changed around here while I was away. I thought about you the week of the Tide vs. LSU game. Hope you were knocking back some Abita. That was a great game. He's a GREAT story. Really did alot for Ole Miss and himself and i'll be following him throughout his NFL career.

You are being pretty naive IMO. Recruiting in the SEC is pretty cut throat. College kids are pampered beyond belief and this can contribute to producing some pretty bad apples. Besides it being a poor reflection on a University, i really could care less of what a college athletes personal beliefs or true character off the field is. Once the players step on the field, all of that is pretty much throw out the window.

I'm sure we will be discussing this more in depth in the future but this is my take as of now.

I'm glad the Buckeye's got matched up against Texas. I think it's going to be a close game, and win or lose be a good springboard into next year, for both teams. I'm hoping Tressel breaks out something we haven't seen before with Pryor, maybe a triple option. I think if Ohio St. plays too much zone instead of man to man, McCoy will pick them apart.

Like I said, it should be a close good game. I like the matchup, and both teams should start out in the top five next year and I think this game will speak to that.

tOSU has been in alot of big games and are going to go into the Feista game teed off and looking for redemtion in the national spotlight. That great team from the Buckeye State has its team ready to go and give it all on the feild of play and coach Tressle and his staff have desighned a brilliant gameplan for victory. The Longhorns have had a great 11 and 1 regular season are looking foward to the challenge of facing the Mighty Buckeyes who are 1-1 against the Horns. The Longhorns are 3-1 vs Big10/11 opponents the last few years with their only loss against tOSU.

Yes I read the book (Blind Side: Evolution of the Game) about Michael Oher but I didn't pay attention to see how he played, I just don't get many Ole miss games down here. I guess this was his last season and he must have done well for you :P Looks like he will be going to the NFL too. He is a nice story.

Oh please. A fist fight and some shoplifting hardly compare to the things you read about other teams, no one pays attention unless it's at one of the good schools though. Read ESPN more often our kids are practically saints in comparison to some things I've seen go by the news tickers at less known schools. Not saying FSU kids are perfect just a little tired of the "Florida State Criminoles". Aside from which you should read my serious comment, I think it favors Ole Miss.

Jerrel Powe (funny wasn't he commited to LSU at one point) had been recruited since cutcliff was the coach, and as in your all knowing tiger perspective- Houston Devil Nutt was the only one who cheated enough to get him eligible, you may be under the impression, he is going to college for free to play football and get an education but maybe some of these kids really dont have MILLIONS of avenues to take in their life.....chances of Jerrel powe graduating with a degree good enough to get him a high paying job are very low... chances of jerrel powe dominating SEC offensive linemen for the next 2 or 3 years and going to get a really high paying job are substantialy higher....

this kid however, maybe future bad a$$, has not even signed with ole miss, just comitted, nor has he even graduated from JUCO, who knows maybe he could decommit and commit to LSU, where MIles would give him at least 3 strikes (google Ryan Periloux), i know you think Miles is such a disiplinarian for kicking him off the team but seriously he gave him how many chances?..... just look at the situation from a non bias perspective as you asked me to do

TE, let it go. There's no need to talk about the other players. Jerrel Powe worked hard for a long time to get into the University. I seriously do not think Houston Nutt got this guy and is just gonna let him run rampant. He's got to be under serious watch.

This is the story that almost got me thrown in Fanblogs jail last year and then I had to take a 6 month self-imposed break from blogging. All I can say is Houston is feeling the heat and recruiting in MS isn't easy, but Houston does have a good rep of keeping them clean once they arrive on campus and I think this kid MAY have learned his lesson. Good friend is a Reb grad and we talked about it. EVERYBODY knows this guy is under the microscope. You think Nutt job is going to let some cowboy ride into town and sh*t in his oatmeal. This boy farts in church and he's gone..........
