Fanblogs.com: Ironic ironies at IU

  • TheMayor · 1 year ago
Does anyone know if Panama Red's is still open in Champagne/Urbana? All I got was a reference to New Riders of the Purple Sage and The Grateful Dead...not what I was looking for...

One of the all time Beer Joints in 1978.

Oh I am an idiot, ban me from the site for 40 days and 40 nights, I thought we were talking about the Illini. My apologies to The Hoosiers (who actually beat the Ducks in Eugene a few years ago)

    My bad.

    Anyone heard fromT-Mac lately?

T-Mac will post when he can... Oh, but he didn't approve this message.

You are right about that Zac! I am trying to put my post underneath the right comments and they are going else where. The grammar is my fault. It is miserably humid here in Austin and I have ALL my lights off to keep it cool.

Oh Zachary call it what you want. When i first discover how to log on it kept stating "verify" post. So I kept retyping and hitting it until it stated i was already registered! Kevin made it easier and now I can post again. i was gonna go with Crimson & Cream True but unlike Indiana's football plaing surface...I decided to keeps it real and still use ma real names! Crimson and cream True. You could not use West Virginia's logo? Jed Clampet? Take care.....hope the Celtics win tonight! Touch a four leaf clover!

It's just growing pains, Lennie. As you can see, I still suffer a bit from them myself. We'll get used to this, before long, I figure. I thought ole Jed was from Arkansas or Tennessee; I can't remember. There's a trivia question for you.
  • Porcine · 1 year ago
I think in the show they were from Tennessee, but in the move Jethro said he went to Oxford, Arkansas. The only schools over there I know of are Melbourne and ICC. The car is at a museum in West Plains, MO, I think.

Don't worry, Lennie, we all stutter now and then.

Hey guys, are you ready for this? My last post is being approved by a moderator. What, pray-tell, could have been wrong with that last post. Looks like I'm gonna need sensitivity training or something...
  • Kevin @ Fanblogs · 1 year ago
It looks like you weren't fully logged in. Not sure why... whatever.

You're right, K-Hue. My fault. I'm still learning the system. I'll get it straight. (We can only hope.)

You get what you pay for! They should have kept that natural grass field and kept it real!

They should have kept that natural grass field. You get what you play for. Keeps it real with real grass, doggone it!

This begs the question, "Hoosier man to get it fixed?"
  • Regan · 1 year ago
Why the "Hoosier Daddy", of course.... :)

They have had a decent soccer team, which some people might call futbol--almost the same. And my uncle was a center for IU back in his day. Wow, I have a lot of connections to IU to not be a fan of theirs for anything.
  • Bevo_Boy · 1 year ago
Maybe my brother will be able to get us some pics of it. He will be attending IU in the fall and is leaving some time soon for an orientation thing or something.

It would be interesting indeed to see what they look like. Given the weather over the past week, the Missouri River has been over its banks on a number of occasions. Not only have many a wheat, corn, bean, and alfalfa fields been turned into rice paddies and ponds, some have been turned into lakes. Trust me; what they're going through at IU is the least of anyone's problems, with regards to recent weather. Between the damage from flooding and tornadoes, God only knows what's next.

I should probably change that to MAY be able to get us some pics of it. They may have most of it fixed by the time he goes there and if he's willing take the time (he gets frustrated when he has to go out of his way for me, so I can ask, but no guarantees).
