I don't know what "Baracknophobia" means, but I can tell you with certainty that it probably isn't a football term.

We did just fine in the 2004 election without getting political in threads. If people want to talk politics, there are plenty of places to do that.

This reminds me....After the poor 1988 season, JoePa offered, as one of reasons for the poor showing, was that he spent too much time helping Bushy 1 in the election. (At least Jay has learned from one of his father's mistakes - don't help a Bush or a McBush).

And, for those who have never worked a salaried, management position.....for every 6-8 hour day, there are probably 2-3 10-18 hour days, And, it is not a structured-time environment. There are days when you may start work at 6AM and finally finish at midnight, with a couple hours off say around 10AM. And, while "blogging" may be a time-consuming challenge to many of you, it really isn't that hard or time consuming for the average, somewhat intelligent adult.

As for quarterbacks, namely Morelli, he was a poor recruiting choice. How soon we forget about Robinson.

You blog during OFFICE HOURS at my company, you're toast...unless you're smart enough to be an anonymous blogger...hell we can't even use cell phones in our car after 7.1.08, Company Policy.

Why do you think my posts on fanblogs are so late at night (mostly)?

Jay is a hasbeen that has long been living on his fathers reputation. Perhaps Joe is hanging in their so Jr. gets a pension...about 60% minimum of his yearly salary. And as for Obama...please! This country is in enough trouble.

Kevin, all due respect (Believe me; I hold you in high esteem.), I won't cry if you shut this thread down. As most of us last season came to the conclusion that perhaps not a single team earned outright the right to play for the NC, so, in my opinion, not a single candidate is deserving of office of President. I honestly don't know what I'll do come Nov. 4th. I do know Jay Paterno will have no impact upon it what-so-ever.

TG, yes I've looked pretty closely, and given the choice and the current trendlines, I'll take Obama over Bush-3.

Does this idiot not realize that western PA--a large Penn State feeder region--is largely Republican?

Ramblin The Dixie Chicks reference is indeed apropriate.Folks need separate their personal agendas from their public perssonas. Business and politics don't mix well at all.
BTW the spell check feature underlines the misspelled words, so I insert different versions and sometimes it helps. You will notice a few misspelled words, because after a while I give up.

For as much hell as Jay Paterno has taken, you would *THINK* that he would keep his head down and his nose clean. But... no can do.

As far as "a little personal time during the day", yeah... maybe. But if you actually click through and look at the time stamps, you'll see that its not a "little personal time". Gotta knock that crap off, IMO.

And no, the Rich Rod/Galen Hall/etc comments are obviously aliases. ;-)

I'm not sure whether to assail Kevin or the self-annointed "Senator" for this remark...

I would be *livid* that Paterno is blogging during "office hours" if I were a Penn State fan

...but I must disagree. A college-educated, salaried professional is not paid by the hour, they are paid to get the job done. I trust that coaches put in a lot of after-hours and weekend work, so I wouldn't have a problem with a coach at my alma mater spending a little personal time during the day. Jay should be judged for his work on the field, IMO.

I have to agree with Tom: the real issue on being a public figure and taking a public stance is that your will offend a good chunk of your constituency. Just ask the Dixie Chicks about that.

I also doubt that Galen Hall made a contrarian blog post or that Jay would delete such a post. Is there any proof of this?

On the other hand, GO OBAMA!!
