OOPS, I need to learn to read ahead a little. Ron, ya beat me to it.
A good many of you aren't using the same name that you use here, or quite a few of the "veterans" are missing. Sign up!
Get your tickets now before we are sold out.
God Bless our Troops
1) There are about five slots left in the pick em if you want to play. Yes... it's free.
2) All picks need to get made this week. Login and pick or you'll finish behind TE. :)
I think I'll still end up trailing TE....
Yahoo seems to have dozens of questions people have asked, but they have no place for me to ask my question. Subsequently, I'll be listing my picks, such as they are, here. If nothing else, at least I'll be able to say I made my picks before the games started. Sadly, there's an account with Yahoo, tied to yours truly, filling a spot someone else might have enjoyed. My apologies for that.
As for this weekend, on the surface there don't seem to be a lot of interesting match-ups out there to open the season. Still, given the equality in strength for some of the pairings, the less remarkable may result in some entertaining games. For example: TX-El Paso vs. Buffalo. Most would ask, "Who cares?" Yet, this may be worth watching. So, without further adieu
Vandy at Miami (the other one): Good start for the Commodores & the SEC. Vandy.
Wake Forest @ Baylor: Wake takes more than expected challenge on the road.
NC St at SC: Wolf-Pack exposes Cocks (Hey, if it looks good out, why not leave it out all day?)
OR St at Stanford: The Cardinals are waiting for their trip to USC. OR St.
Temple at Army: 2 teams no one wants to watch, yet it could be a lot of fun. Temple
VA Tech at ECU: Tough season opener for both; one of the better match-ups! Tech.
SMU at RICE: See Temple at Army. RICE.
Hawaii at FL: This one will not be interesting. FL
UT at MI: Utes invade the Big House laden with new coaching staff, new offense, but the same kids that ran the old system, including "7 starters on defense"; the same defense that got lit up by 73 pts in their 1st 2 games, and gave up another 37 to WI & 35 to mistake-prone FL. Not this year, Richi, UT gets the upset.
USC at VA: Trojans visit last year's Cardiac kids. This one won't be so close. USC.
OK St at WA St: This one could be lots of fun to watch; too bad there has to be a loser. OK St.
JMU at Duke: Another solid 1-AA team defeats a BCS. . . door mat. (Oh yeah?!? Well, just try em in BB.)
MI St at Cal: See OK St at WA St. Spartans.
WA at OR: Ty, this is no way to start the season. OR.
Appy St at LSU: Champions collide. The bigger one wins. LSU.
AL at Clemson: Arguably THE marquee match-up of the weekend. Tigers.
IL at MO: These 2 take exception to the above. MO.
KY at Louisville: Payback's a beach. Too bad neither state has one. Louisville.
CO St at CO: Think about the Rams, not about WVU. Buffalo's.
Fresno at Rutgers: R these dogs for real, or is it going to come down to Teel (as in Mike & what he can do)? Knights.
TN at UCLA: At last, an opening road game TN can win, and will.
As for the rest AS over ID, AR over W IL, MN over N IL, TX A&M over AR St, NC over McNeese St, MS St over LA Tech, TX over FL Atlantic, KS over FL International, OK over Chattanooga, S FL over TN Martin, TX Tech over E WA, Boise St over ID St, KS St over N TX, Houston over Southern, NE over W MI, Tulsa over UAB, Marshal over IL St, TCU over NM, BYU over N IA, UCF over SC St, AS St over N AS, BC over Kent St, Ole Miss over Memphis, Navy over Towson, MD over DE, TX El Paso over Buffalo, THE "U" over Charleston So, GA Tech over Jacksonville St, UConn over Hofstra, Cinci over E KY, IA St over SD St, WI over Akron, Pitt over Bowling Green, Penn St over C Carolina, OSU over Youngstown St, IN over W KY, GA over GA So, WY over OH(U), Air Force over So UT, and not to be outdone with the easy opening prey, WVU over Nova.
Only 25 minutes to kick off!!!!!!!!!
I really wasn't paying attention Wisc was a 26 point over Akron well I'll pay closer attention this time. Heck I dont feel too bad I'm tied with WEA & Kev the pros.I also lost on the KU vs FIU.

East Carolina over V Tech
Blowing Green over Pitt
Others that I blew that were not on the list
Wake over Baylor
AR st over Texas A&M
Buffalo over UTEP
Poor Aggies- they announced the score and showed it on the big screen last night in Austin- everybody cheered and then hollered the chant poor Aggies
