Florida State, or anyone else for that matter, will never win with that many turnovers. It looks like Bobby will have to hang around past this year if he intends to reclaim the record.
Joe Paterno is college football's version of Bernie from the movie "Weekend At Bernie's"...
Getting credit for games where you "coach" from the booth? What EXACTLY did Paterno do to influence that victory?
It's a disgrace to the game, and a testament to his unmitigated ego, nevermind his overbearing sense of hubris, that this man is still involved with that football program...
Part of good leadership is knowing when to delegate. While his assistants may have more influence during game time I am certain he still holds them accountable for their performance.
This all applies to Bowden as well. As for them being a figurehead coach, perhaps it may be worthwhile to direct some of their pay to the eventual replacements.
Something has to be said for a coach who chooses to stay at a program and make it great rather than jump to the biggest name program they can find to step into an already great situation.
Joe Paterno hasn't made one game defining or game changing decision in years...
You heard me...
He's a joke, and he degrades the record he's so vainly attempting to attain and maintain...
Say what you will about this man and this program. More than 80% of Penn State's football players graduate....and if you are the Tiger I think you are, less than 50% of your players graduate.
Was your hatred of JoePa taught to you by your parents or did you develop it on your own?
Any psych will tell you that the root of hatred is fear....are you afraid of old men? LOL
thank you
How is Paterno coaching from the booth of any less an influence than Charlie Weis coaching from the buffet line at Sizzler?
He's a cross between Biff Tannon on Back to the Future, and Pizza The Hut from Spaceballs...
Zero discipline. We go out and get West Virginia's OL coach. It changes nothing. How many years in a row have we had a crappy OL? 5+? How do you manage to have a shitty OL for this many years? It completely baffles me.
Nothing on offense is relevant if you don't have an offensive line. You can't run and you can't pass. You can't blame either of our QB's or HB's for anything that occurred in this game.
I'm not calling for Jimbo's head yet -- I don't think he's had long enough to turn things around... But with that said... at the end of this year.. if we have managed to remain this bad...I will lean on history history and ask you to find out how many times a "succesful coach" inherited a crappy team and during their 2nd year on the job, managed to keep the team equally as crappy as when they inherited it.
How many times has that happened? I don't recall it ever happening.
Divorcing the noles!!
Coach Joe P is a living legend and he's done more than most posters on any thread.
Sure the guy is old -so-what, just pray that you live to that age, or have the creditability and history in CFB that this man has forged.
Until one of these guys either retires or bites the dust, we as fans can live on and enjoy the game that these men dedicated their lives to.
Adios Tomcat
Just remember than youth is temporary and these guys know CFB- and we arent getin any younger
