Due to the recent performance on the field and difficulties in stadium negotiation with the city of San Diego, San Diego State will be disbanding its football program.
"Things change. When the reassurances where made it was the middle of the season and we still had a chance to end the season better than last year. Obviously that did not happen."

Any idea on who is next? This is me spitballing and ideas in my head on who I would like to see down there, and no idea if they even would have a shot.

basically someone that does things differently and lets the athletes go out and play.
Seriously though, Long was praised by the University President for turning around the academic issues they were having when he arrived and for the young talent that he has built.
Basically, Long has built a foundation for another coach to succeed with. If SDSU does well next year it will be with Long's program.
