Fanblogs.com: LSU postpones Troy game, Tiger Stadium damaged

  • War_Eagle_Atlanta · 1 year ago
Is the damage anything less than you would normally get on a Louisiana Saturday night? :-)
  • Porcine · 1 year ago
I don't know about them, but when the kinfolk leave and the kids get fed, me and my woman gonna slip off to bed.

Have a little fun in the pale moon light, Porky??
  • Porcine · 1 year ago
I thought it was "have a little fun when we turn out the lights"? I believe Mel McDaniel was from Oklahoma, so I'm not sure if he knows either.

I believe you got me. There I go giving alternative lyrics to songs again...

"When we get behind closed doors, and she lets her hair hang down, and she makes me glad that I'm a ma-ha-han. Cause no one knows what goes on behind closed doors..."

And frankly, it's none of my business.

I think you dance with the devil in the pale moon light, at least according to the Joker.
  • JB · 1 year ago
and yes....it was pretty bad down there .....it wasnt so much the damage but that there is no power ......and we like our a/c
  • P · 1 year ago
Just for your information.....over %30 of Baton Rouge STILL doesn't have power and some won't for us to a month. And that is with literally 10,000 linemen working non-stop.

No one expected BR all the way to the Ark/La line to get as badly hit. My Dad now lives in the central part of the state and is still evacuated.

It's one thing to tease about chaos at a game, but, you try having your state be hit by hurricane(s) 3 years apart and see what type of post you want to read.

I am glad it is postponed because i coulndt go now..........even though the media's attention wass on how lucky NOLA was, we here in Alexandria (a city of 50,000 in central louisiana) got slammed... Gustav hit us with 80 mph winds and nearly 20 inches of rain...............our city, which is 70 feet over sea level...looked like the ninth ward on August 30, 2005 if you get my drift......
  • War_Eagle_Atlanta · 1 year ago
Hope you guys get it going again down there, JB. Good news though--no school the last few days, huh?

This could be pretty huge for LSU though--missing out on another tuner before traveling to Auburn in two weeks...
  • JB · 1 year ago
Yea ...no school...my high school wasn't damaged, however...it is built like a fortress......one of my friends, however, was a katrina victim and her house was destroyed again...........

I know troy would have been a good tune up game, because they wouldnt just roll over like AppySt and NT

    Geaux Tigers

keep Central Louisiana in your prayers
  • shiguy · 1 year ago
ok so i'm just curious here your friend who lost her house..again are they rebuilding it....again?
  • JB · 1 year ago
no....her dad is in the Natl guard....they lived at Jackson Barraks in NO for Katrina....now they lived in a house in Alex...about 200 miles north and no they arent rebuilding they are moving to Camp Beauregard, a Guard post here

    WEA:

Yeh, they should have let a little mud get on them uniforms before playing Auburn. Maybe the laundry bill is already too high.
  • War_Eagle_Atlanta · 1 year ago
It could be worse, Tommy. LSU could have Vanderbilt as their SEC opener!!!

Holy crap! We've got to play in Nashville this season, too.

Excuse me JB? Did you say App State rolled over? Maybe, I guess you could be right. Armanti Edwards was quoted to the effect that they had never seen that kind of size and speed. Kind of a back handed slap to Michigan, as inadvertent as it probably was.
  • JB · 1 year ago
In there mind they might hav tried, but from section 211 seat 28, they rolled over.......and yea it was a slap at Michigan......:-]

This certainly puts things into perspective. I'm sitting here all comfy-cozy, all high-&-dry, in my little bungalow in the upper mid-west (just about geographic dead center), and there are people without power, water, even homes. What can I do to help?
  • JB · 1 year ago
    Just pray for us Zac.........
  • Ben Prather · 1 year ago
Glad you are OK JB,anyone heard for TE?
  • JB · 1 year ago
No i think he lives south of here and they have no power yet
  • The_Central_Scrutinizer · 1 year ago
Depending on where in town TE lives, it could be a week or two before power comes back.
I've gotten phone service back just yesterday afternoon and discovered my wireless DSL works while the generator's running. But gasoline is still a pain in the arse to get so we only run it at night for the window unit.

But if The People with Cox get the cable back on, I'd simply have to run it to watch GAME DAY BIDGES! and risk having to spend a sweaty night.

I'd feel a lot better about the Auburn game if we'd'a had that tuner-upper, but we'll bring it.

  • The_Central_Scrutinizer · 1 year ago
