Fanblogs Open Conference Championship Thread
Sounds like something your arch rival would write about your team, not something one would boast about, even in just...but hey, at least it's grounded in truth, right?
...and aren't you the one always calling out BC for the "...hey X, we just beat the hell out of you" chant, as classless?
GO GATORS!!
Keep your friends close, and keep your enemies closer...
It's a tad bit schtick, in case you haven't noticed it...As in, a joke...attempt at humor?
Do you really think we're here sharpening shovels & filling a zip-loc bag with urine?
There's a killjoy in every crowd, I guess...
As for the chant: I couldn't escape the irony of your multiple references to what strikes me as a rather benign chant, particularly in context of the above.
Aside from that, props on the creativity.
GO GATORS!!
Adios Tomcat

GO GATORS!!
Upset Saturday
BU over Texas------------------- Big day for the Bears and coach Briles beat Horns
A&M over Oklahoma------------- Land theives welcome to Kyle Feild & the 12th Man
LSU over Bama ----------- No doubt- Bama overated-Saban loses in B.R.
Utah over TCU---- yes it happened- feel sorry for the Frog FG kicker
Ok State over Texas Tech--------------not really an upset IMO- Cowboys win!
The ranking is completely arbitrary at this point...but, it is great to position you...
The bottom line is that you will be #1 through the SEC Championship Game, but Florida can and will rip your defense to shreds....Book it.
Now, sit here and talk all you like, but I've seen them play us, and seen them play Georgia, and we've played Georgia, and we've played you...
We clamped down on your offense, BIGTIME...and they hung 51 on us...
You are going to get torched. It's something you don't like to hear, but its coming.
Should be Texas Tech #1
Florida #2 based on how they are playing now and not so much on record. Bama #3
I woke up around 0830 this morning, and had that up there shortly afterwards...
The problem was the actual game story, not the rhyme, Mr. Massengil....
Again, thanks for the compliments...I guess I'll try harder next time...
I think I'll let that one slide, TE...along with the reading-comp side swipe...in the interest of time.
Good luck to your Tigers this weekend; naturally I'll be pulling for the Tide, since it will in UF's interests, but I harbor no ill will against LSU. Regardless who wins, I'll be looking forward to a monster SEC clash!
GO GATORS!!
On a more serious note... +10, TE, for creativity.
you are an embarrassment to the fanbase, and so is anyone else who uses "Roll Mother F****** Tide."
you are just as classless as the LSU fans you're talking about.
Roll Tide.
To all you LSU fans, Are you ready for a little Ramma Jamma?
Geaux Tigers!
Stick around...Kick the tires...Stay awhile...We've always got room for more LSU contributors...
So you gave up writing the novels - but instead of writing a short story, you turned to Dr. Seuss??
Of course, the Doctor wouldn't have used quite the same vocabulary....but it does have a nice rhyme scheme.....
So let's just get to the point:
Bama - 31
LSU- 20
I have one question for you Mr. TigerEducated. Why no prediction?? Surely you're still not down on yourself from the UGA and Florida ones....
I mean, we all know you expect LSU to win. I am just curious as to how close you think it will be. But if you don't want to share with the group, it's ok. Maybe next meeting when we are all a bit closer and more comfortable with sharing our feelings with each other.... ;)
I'm hoping to pull another Tennessee - as I predicted the score to be 30-10 ... [actual 29-9 :)]
Anyways, can't wait to get down to Red Stick. Roll Tide!
As for my thoughts on the game...I might e-mail them to Kevin & WEA, just so its on record that I had called the game to start...
I do think that LSU will emerge victorious...
BTW-Are you a Dr. Drew Celebrity Rehab fan? I sensed a little bit of that in your response...and figuring the new episode was on VH1 last night (For those of you that don't watch, seeing Gary Busey & Tawny Kitaen hold each others faces in their hands as they tell each other how beautiful they are is simply great television), I was wondering about it...
....I've actually never watched that show.
Georgia & Florida spread LSU out...They had multiple receiving & rushing threats...
Beyond Julio Jones, Alabama doesn't have a receiver with more than 15 grabs. They do have a decent tight end, but my point is this:
Alabama's more of a double tights, run it at you type of a team than a 4 wide receiver, or pro-style offense. While they lead the SEC in rushing at 205/game, they are middle of the road in total offense at 369 yards a contest...
That means they're averaging a somewhat pedestrian 164 yards a game through the air, out of a senior quarterback and a veteran offensive line. That means they are a classic Saban team. Control the ball, grind the defense out, whittle away the game...
They have feasted on quick starts and hanging on late in the game as Saban completely shuts down the offense.
Their biggest win thusfar has been an altogether mystery versus Georgia, in which they gave up 31 points after the game was no longer in doubt. LSU actually kept up with Georgia on offense, its just that we threw a couple of touchdowns to the wrong team.
We're quite likely the worst matchup on offense for them all year. They have the very identity of their defense back for Saturday, but he wasn't playing a factor in the 2nd half of games, anyway. Cody is a microcosm of the Alabama team: Starts quick, dominates early, taking oxygen by the 4th quarter, flummoxed and exhausted...They simply don't have depth on either side of the ball, outside of running back.
I'm going to e-mail my prediction to Kevin & WEA...If its off, I don't mind them sharing, it...If I'm right, I don't mind sharing that, either...
But, I will say this...I've been overly optimistic about both of our prior losses this year...This game, I am being cautiously optimistic. I know that if Saban can score on this defense, he will-for once-break character and try to drop half a hundy on us just like the Gators & Dawgs suceeded in doing.
Not for the voters or polls, but because he wants to.
I-for one-simply do not think he can...and I'll leave it there...
So, win or lose, you're willing to share your prediction? So why don't you just go ahead and share your prediction, TE? You don't strike me as the superstitious type, but I don't know any other way to interpret your intentions here.
I'd bet $100 I'm right. :)
...it's already been requested at least 2x, and he already gave you the green light to post it: "...I'm going to e-mail my prediction to Kevin & WEA...If its off, I don't mind them sharing, it...If I'm right, I don't mind sharing that, either..."
Ya see? He does'nt mind at all...
GO GATORS!!
I told him not to do a preview thread. It hasn't bidden well for him this year every time he's done it. Only by happenstance did he not have time to do one for the Auburn game--and look what happened...
It used to be that Kevin could back TE up on things. I guess I'm in the inner sanctum now, too...
I will share with you this:
It may seem like Alabama can't spread the field and make the big pass plays, but whoever thinks this is wrong. In most of the games this year, Alabama has not needed a huge passing game in order to win. If the running game is there, we go with it - and obviously, as we are leading the SEC in rushing, it has been. However, if you go back and look at the UGA game, McElwain started with the ball in the air. John Parker had the best game of the season that night. Long plays were made and about 7-8 different guys had a catch.
If Alabama comes out throwing successfully from the start, John Parker's confidence rises and he gets in rhythm. Look for this tomorrow. I believe Saban and McElwain will take what they saw from Florida and Georgia and try to spread the field and beat the LSU secondary. Mix that in with the rush attack, and it could be a long night for LSU.
My prediction was 31-20. I think Bama will score, but not nearly like Gerogia and Florida did. It could be worse if Lee continues his Pick 6 routine... ;)
But afterall, what do I know? I'm just a girl who likes football....
Which also means we get to put Patrick Peterson & Chad Jones on the field, who are WAY better in pass coverage one on one in open space than Danny...I look for a sea change in our defense Saturday...
You don't have the horses to spread it out all game long...Your offense is going to jump out quickly, or try to, I agree with you there...But, your team hasn't had a close game or even a tough game, all year long...If we weather any "storm" you put up early, or even jump ahead, this team hasn't dealt with adversity all year...
LSU's lives and dies by it...
We shall see...
It's gonna be a good one, no doubt.
She must be putting on her game face!
haha, oh I am ready! - Game face is on!
;)
When are you coming into Big Raggedy?
I wish I could say tonight, but I'm flying out of Birmingham tomorrow morning...around 9:30ish.
So the party will be in T-town tonight ;)
So inquiring minds want to know: Were your people able to arrange a meeting with TE's people?
The back has the 2003 montage...LOL...Definitely strategically placed...
Try this one on for size.
There once was a coach named Rich Rod,
whoes team upon others did trod.
Then took off with his "dish", for a job at ole Mich.
Since then he has stepped on his prod.
I would say honestly i cant predict it, i am too biased
Here is a joke : How are Bama fans and maggots similar?
They both can live for years off a dead bear
Sorry, honey, but most of us don't "live off" the Bear - we're just proud of his legacy and what he did here of Alabama. I'm sure if LSU had a coach that won 6 National Championships and 13 SEC Championships, you'd be the same way. ;)
Roll Tide! [ Sorry about the post above under the same two words ... we don't claim people like him .. He's a disgrace to the Bama Nation.]
That game!!!! It was a good game, Jarrett Lee was Bama's MVP though.!!
TE, thanks for not posting your prediction. I'm one of the superstitious types and can't do anything about it...lol. I was actually hoping you didn't even do a write up on the game, though I do enjoy them. So don't give in to the folks who are goding you into posting your score prediction. I honestly believe that if we play mistake-free football, that we have the better athletes and can pull out a victory. It's great to hear that McCray is back in his natural position and Peterson and Jones can go to work.
Geaux Tigers

Not that our defensive line was providing a lot of pressure, but the coverage issues were where we were honestly getting our butts handed to us, IE-Florida's 1st 3rd down, where Danny was in the slot and had NO over the top help. We also had issues against Georgia, and Curtis was inexplicably lost, throughout the season. He was getting schemed against, as well.
McCray allows us to get a major upgrade in coverage and play out of our nickel & dime backs. Chad Jones is an especially huge feature for us, and I am salivating and hoping that Patrick Peterson gets lined up on Julio...In the Alabama/Florida All-Star game, Patrick COMPLETELY SHUT JULIO DOWN...
I want to see it happen again Saturday...I really do.
Here's hoping we can pull one out. I don't think it'll be easy by any stretch but it's possible.

LSU 24 Alabama 20. Only because of Alabama's inexperience playing in the most "hostile environment" that these players are gonna see. The fact that Saban is their coach is only gonna add fuel to this fire. He is certainly not a help. If Alabama does not silence those fans immediately - Alabama will lose this game.
I believe he's a RS Junior, sir...
No, your are definately wrong. Stafford has never reshirted. He is a pure junior. Mustain is a RS soph. The top two QB's in the prior class were Mark Sanchez and Ryan Perrilloux. Sanchez is a RS junior this year. Had Perrilloux played at LSU - he would have also been a RS junior. Stafford, Tebow and Mustain came out of high school together.
BTW, you need to hurry up and be right about something. I sure hope that you picked Alabama on your "secret ballot" though. God have mercy on us all - should Alabama win out in the SEC. Your boyz need to put a paw to that Tide azz.
You guys were lucky and you know it. A "W" is a "W" and you take 'em anyway you can get 'em but take away only 2 of the 4 picks and you guys are 9-1.
Oh well, good luck with Florida. You're gonna need it. That is....if....you don't overlook Auburn.

We punched in the 1st two rushing touchdown's ANYONE's scored on your defense, and with a quarterback that finished 13/34 with FOUR PICKS, 1 pick 6, and one TD, we rolled up on your vaunted defense and put up 200+ yards of rushing on you...
Our "suspect" defense gave you one legitimate drive, all game long...EVERYTHING else was off an interception...
Congrats on the win, but lucky doesn't begin to describe it...
If you think this was one of the best games our offense has played this year, you should sit out the next rotation when the left handed cigarettes come by you...
Our quarterback played a terrible game, and he is afraid to get hit. He doesn't want to stand in the pocket. He can't make a progression. He can't read a blitz coming from his sight-line side. He can't make accurate deep throws.
He played like complete shat, and yet you needed overtime to put a -3 loss team away...
Yeah...blah, blah, blah...LOL...
Does that suddenly make you feel better? I was there...in Tiger Stadium...When overtime was over, we were on the short end of the score. We lost...
I can tell you one thing...We lost our starting quarterback...He was our backup last year, but he was far more talented, though his head was full of caca...
When I made my boasts, that was before he finally made one too many off-the-field transgressions...
Were he here this afternoon, things would've gone far more poorly for you, but that's a what-if...
I can tell you this much...Our defensive line sure didn't miss Dorsey, and our corner's played a damn fine game, as well...
They gave up 15 completions...Your QB completed less than 50% on the day...We gave up one TD through the air, and one scoring drive that wasn't off of a turnover all day...
No excuses, RT73...I'm stating FACTS...Not hyperbole or anything of the sort...
FACTS
"If LSU can take him out (meaning Jarrett Lee) , they (meaning LSU) have a great chance at winning."
Again.....copy and paste where I said "if". I'll be waiting.

My point is just that our QB threw 4 int's in which you got 17pts off of. You could say we were lucky for the fumble in the end zone. I'd agree with that. Take those 7 off the board and we still win. We dominated every statistical category except the one that matter. The scoreboard. That's why I say we could've won minus the 4 int's.
Look friend, we could "if" this all day and I'd rather not go back and forth over it. The bottom line is you guys have the W. Enjoy it while you can. Just try and do so with a little humility. That's all.
Good luck,

Our D's is struggling this season, among other things. Stafford and Moreno are probably headed for Sunday Football. Moreno does have one of those redshirts. We probably could have used him a year earlier.
Defense has done a good job up to this point in stopping Alabama's running game. Unfortunately, TE, Chad Jones isn't covering Julio Jones and he's making some nice catches. The kid definitely has talent. Bama's defense just has us out-numbered 12 guys to 10. Their star, Jarrett Lee, is responsible for keeping them in the game. If LSU can take him out, they have a great chance at winning.
C'MON BOYS....LET'S PLAY SOME SECOND HALF FOOTBALL!!!!!

The 201 yards net rushing by LSU was not enough to overcome the stellar performance of the middle school-talent level QB in Jarrett "Stagger" Lee. 13 for 34 and 4 picks. At least he's consistently inconsistent.....gotta love that.
Oh well, they were in it the whole time at least. I just would've like to have seen Jordan Jefferson get a shot. No way in hell he could've done any worse than the star we had under center.
Bama fans....you know you got a gift in that one.

He's way too undersized...WAY too undersized...He's been a redshirt candidate from the time he's been recruited...He "may" be 175 pounds, right now...
Guy is a great talent, but he's had to run for his life this year in Mobile...
I saw Star warming up today...Let's hope your S&C coach, whose a Tommy Moffit protege that Saban lured in, can bulk him up and work on his arm strength...S
Say what you want, but Jarret Lee was more highly thought of than Star coming out of HS...
You'll see what this year is like for us, next year...Enjoy this year while you can...
:)
The LSU/Bama game was excellent, and both teams looked explosive on offense at times. Hard for LSU to lose but it was fun to watch the game. Georgia and Kentucky had their moments, too but I can't understand Georgia. They must have been overrated. Kentucky is not a strong SEC team. . . Georgia should have walked all over them.
One team that is not overrated is Florida. I don't look forward to going into The Swamp next week. Rotating quarterbacks is not going to get it done. I just hope we match up well enough with them to keep it close. If we can, there may be an upset.
Besides, our QB just runs for his life...
We might be able help your ailing spread. We are really struggling on D. Kentucky beat us on the edge all day. We use to get a lot of run support from our safeties and ROV, (Davis, Phillips, Blue, Battle) almost like an extra LB, but they are never up in the play, they're always downfield. Kodi Burns could cause us some problems with his feet, and maybe even with his arm if we decide to play loose and get no pressure.
I saw where Tristan Davis, from East Point took one 95 yards on a kickoff return Saturday. If we were in a touch football league we would still struggle on kickoff coverage, it's unbelievable. This team has a huge blind spot and we could lose some more games if we are not careful. Right now I don't know what's going on we should have the talent (on defense), Martinez is just not getting it out of them. Our game Saturday could get interesting.
I was telling RG that his Jackets could beat us as well, he disagrees. That game has been close even when we've had really good teams and they've had really bad teams +Reggie Ball. No Reggie Ball, no Chan Gailey, their two biggest problems are gone. I foresee another nail biter.
Sorry we suck so bad that the game only warrants the 12:30 Lincoln Financial telecast. We never do well in the morning...
Be sure to tune into Dawgsports on Friday to get my South's Oldest Rivalry haiku and limmericks. No, I'm not kidding...
But on a serious note, LSU played their heart out. It was a true physical SEC game. I'm glad Bama can just got out here with a win.
T-Mac, where are you when I need you. You're the one who's been calling it all along. When T-Mac spent time on here, with every negative comment against JPW, T-Mac was there to say, "Give the young man a chance; he's working hard; he'll come through." (No, that's not a direct quote; just an interpretation of many.) If bama wins out, goes on to meet & beat FL in the SEC Championship, and goes on to win the NC, it will in large part be due to the efforts of this man; one who isn't even being considered for the Heisman.
As for LSU's Garret Lee, he's young; he'll learn...eventually, and he won't be LSU's only option for next year. There's still a lot of football left; there's still a lot to play for; while there may be a lot more to build than you're used to, there's still a lot to build on. Without a doubt, there's a bowl game in LSU's immediate future, and that can't be all bad, especially given the number of teams out there which are used to going and won't be. Just a thought.
Patrick Peterson also evidently took over Jai Eugene's starting corner spot...They were rotating Julio away from him all game long, because Patrick DOMINATED in their 1-on-1 matchups...I'm so unbelievably pleased with that kid. He has been getting deficient individual instruction from what I believe is a prime candidate to be replaced via the first thing smoking come the end of the year in Doug Mallory, or Co-Defensive Coordinator.
Like I said, next year is going to be sweet revenge...We're going to roll into Tuscaloser and return the favor...I'm already circling it on the calendar...
So you think Mall is gone at the end of the season? I hope you're right but I don't see it happening.
Geaux Tigers
Geaux SEC
Say it with me...We have a soft defense.
Mallory was a reach, and at the game yesterday, Corey Raymond was working with the defensive backs on the field before the game, getting them reps like they were having extra practice. It's time we gave that guy the bump up to CB coach.
We have a finite amount of space on staff, & Pelini was not a position coach, strictly a coordinator. I have not seen any demonstrable difference in ST coordination with the guy we brought in from the PAC-10. Axe him, bring in Raymond as the CB coach, and either promote BDPeveto to fulltime DC, or do whatever...
But, Mallory's a joke.
Nick Saban = waaaayyyyy > Les Miles.
i think that's obvious at this point.
just be glad Alabama didn't play a good game.
fumbled at y'alls goal line, fumbled a kickoff, missed a FG. got a holding call that erased a TD.
it could have been a whole lot worse for your tigers.
We had a 19 year old toss 4 interceptions, one of which directly gave you 7 points, the other 3 which set up scores?
Yeah, you're right, it could've been worse...FOR YOU...
We couldn't sign any quarterbacks after we signed the #1 pick in the NFL draft, and a guy that would go on to win a national championship whose passed Brian Brohm on Green Bay's depth chart in JaMarcus Russell & Matt Flynn, respectively...
In 2004, we sign 0 quarterbacks...Nobody would compete.
In 2005, we signed Ryan Perrilloux...and nobody wanted to come in and compete with the #1 player in America...
In 2006, we had JR, Matt Flynn, & RP redshirting...Nobody wanted to compete with them...
For 2007, we brought in Jarret Lee...He was NEVER expected to be there, yet he was, and he almost beat your precious #1 team...
Let's review: Never behind until the 1st quarter against LSU
No rushing touchdowns before we punked your defense out for two in one game.
Rushing offense held to less than your 205 yard SEC leading average, but a middle of the pack defense.
In all honesty, your quarterback-the one you hate-probably was your MVP. If ours wasn't, of course :)
So, what-pray tell-did COACHING have to do with yesterday's big win? What did Les Miles do to lose that game? You tell me, Carnac...
seriously? you don't know?
Les Miles put the game in the hands of that 19 year-old that is pick-six prone.
what a D/A. it's all part of his cocky attitude.
Charles Scott was running well all day long. why in the hell would any good coach have their QB throwing deep balls when he's prone to INTs?
especially in OT....
haha. there ya go. put it on your freshman QB. i guess you and Miles both forgot that eventually Matt Flynn (Saban's QB) would be drafted so you might need another QB in waiting... (that doesn't SUCK or have mental issues)
Then after the game Miles said something along the lines of:
"I thought Lee threw a GREAT INT in OT. he showed a lot of winning character by taking that risk. it was just unlucky that he happened to be double-covered by 2 All-SEC DBs...."
what an idiot. i feel bad for you having to support statements like those.
Or Hitler talking about world peace and respect for all ethnicities...
I watched the ENTIRE press conference, and he didn't say anything like that...
Oh, and by the way...In 2004, after we signed Flynn & Russell...It was NICK SABAN who didn't recruit another quarterback, LOL...So, thanks for admitting your coach sucks & has mental issues...LMAO!
I don't support lies you make up, but I am going to post a rather unfortunate example of Alabama fans who are a tad too riled up for their own good...They took the life of two LSU fans over the weekend...
"(Jarrett Lee's) view was, 'I hit this, we win it.' Boy, what a great view!"
and about the shooting, you must not have read the police report.
a drunk LSU fan called up a drunk Alabama fan and started talking smack. the Alabama fan told him to come to his house and settle it.
so the drunk LSU fan came to the man's house, fought, and got whooped.
he then, went to his truck, got a pistol, and threatened the Alabama fan and his family. The Alabama fan then shot the man with a shotgun.
then, Ms. LSU fan that was along for the ride, picked up the pistol and picked up where her husband left off. The Alabama fan then shot her to.
bottom line:
2 D/A LSU fans that fell victim to natural selection.
The Alabama fan, though most likely also a complete D/A, will get off with self-defense if he can afford a halfway-decent attorney.
The Associated Press just reported that they were BOTH Tide Fans, just arguing about why the game was so close, so congrats on cheering the death of a member of your fanbase...
Let's review: You talked sh!t about your own quarterback, who basically won you the game.
You talked sh!t about your coach, who didn't recruit a quarterback in 2004, which you thought was completely idiotic (I agree with you, that was pretty idiotic of Saban to do that).
You just talked sh!t about two members of your own fanbase, killed by another member of your fanbase...
You stay classy, Bleed_Crimson...
This place is getting out of hand, & I'm probably a bit of a polarizing force for some, so I'm going to step away for awhile...
You guys have fun the rest of the season...
ridiculous and immature are 2 words i would use to describe the post you just made.
but yeah, your team isn't looking too hot, i'd just pack up that loud mouth of yours at least until bowl season.
YOU said it was idiotic not to recruit a quarterback in 2004. Thank your coach for that. He's the idiot.
YOU said those wonderful things about JPW early in the season, and even during it. Not anyone else.
YOU said those ridiculously classless statements about deceased folks...Not me.
I'm out, but please...don't get the script flipped...I might be the bigger ace here, but you're the bigger acehole, BC...
It's all still under investigation man. None of the facts are straight yet. The brother of the guy that died says that he (victim) was an adamant Tide fan. I just read the latest on AP's website.
But to say someone died due to natural selection is pretty damn classless. I thought a little better of you than that.
If it would have been one of your relatives, I doubt you would have responded in that manner.
And to think you chastised someone a while ago for representing Alabama's fanbase in a negative way.

i really couldn't care less that these idiots killed themselves.
and if they were my relatives, i would be embarrassed.
what really happened here?
3 drunken idiots got into a fight in hickville, USA, then they started shooting each other.
now you, and all other LSU fans act like it's a huge tragedy because the story was entitled "2 LSU Fans Murdered by Alabama Fan"
when really the 2 that got murdered, whatever kinda fans they were, drove to a guys house, then pulled a gun on him and threatened to kill him and his family.
i would've shot them to.
personally, i care much more about our soldiers that died yesterday while in Iraq.
but i guess that's not newsworthy or mournworthy...
Nothing else is concrete. Now you have it going down as this guys pulls the gun when he got there and threatened to kill him and his family. What are you, Matlock now? If you've got the facts, call the police department and tell them because they don't even know yet.
And since you are concerned about the troops who died yesterday, how many were there? What were there names? Where were they from? Or is that another lame attempt to get back what little respect you lost? You can't tell me because you don't know.
I'll give you the answer though, since you're so concerned......there were none killed yesterday Bleed. ZERO. The last soldier to give his life did so on Nov 8th. Staff Sgt Timothy Walker (God rest his soul). Hostile fire in Northern Baghdad. When you have relatives over there, you keep up with this kind of thing, hoping you don't get that phone call...as opposed to tossing it around to make yourself look good.
Of course, you already knew that though. Bleed's got all the facts.
Uhhh...not so much.

I do have a biased opinion, but if I was a LSU fan, I would be questioning the offensive coordinator or whom ever is calling plays.
In overtime...We went run on 1st down, Wildcat formation run off the left side for a loss on 2nd down, and on 3rd down, we took a shot at a 1st down with a check down to the endzone, and he forced it in there...
Watch the replay, and you see the kid went straight to the 2nd read, and never looked for his initial 1st down marker. That's a read mistake from a young kid.
On 3rd down, in overtime, the objective is typically to move the chains...
Maybe I'm not as observant as I used to be, but that was pretty obvious. We HAD to throw the ball on 3rd down. If we run the ball on 3rd and intermediate, then the entire crowd is complaining that we weren't aggressive and played for the FG. Which would be dumb. You don't give a down away in overtime...
Your point makes no sense...
On the 3rd pick, the one before overtime, all the kid has to do is step up or slide to avoid the pressure. It didn't come from his backside. It didn't come from behind. It came from his sight line. All he has to do is adjust the pocket. He didn't get an interior push, so its not like he couldn't step up.
Instead, he waits, gets clobbered on a late-developing blitz, and the ball goes up in the air and gets picked off.
Neither one of those were risky plays considering down, distance, and point in the game perspective.
Neither.
The playcalling was NOT the problem. It's wondering whether or not your quarterback can execute it.
If we abandon the pass, then Alabama loads up and stops the run. If we don't stay aggressive vertically, the safeties creep up.
I know BC's played a little football...but have you? This is sort've elementary offensive scheme stuff, here...
I'll add this, I know that LSU had to throw the ball on third down, but it doesn't need to be a shot at the corner of the endzone. If Lee is at fault for not checking down, then I suppose LSU should be desperately looking for a spark from Jefferson (I think he should start next week).
TE, in the spirit of friendly posting, I am avoiding all hostile posts and postings from this point on. I know that I have contributed to an unfriendly atmosphere around here, but I am only going to be positive from here on out.
pulled out the stops.
Way to go Cocks.
it was a stone lock.
Way to go Cocks,
you guys are real jocks.
Way to go Cocks,
Your game really rocks.
Way to go Cocks,

Way to go Cocks,
Arkansas, you did mock.
Way to go Cocks,
nice manage of a clock.
Way to go Cocks,
Lets all have a Bocks!
Welcome back, Nicky, here's the win. Another pick 6...seriously? Lee has to step up. After our loss last night, there is no point in bringing in Jefferson. All we can do is hope for the miraculously speedy recovery of Hatch or stand behind Lee. As much as it pains me to say this, at this point he is our only go-to man. There were a few missteps by our recievers that could have changed the outcome of that game, but ultimately it was the pick 6 that cost us the game. ...just like georgia.
But on the bright side... all those bama fans are finally gone. and..
LSU was the only team to send bama into overtime,
The only team to score 2 rushing touchdowns on bama's d. (like TE stated)
The second team to lead in score (albeit a short time...thank you, lee)
It's a shame LSU handed over that win...
Props to Julio, was it? That kid had at least 3 defenders on him, if not more, everytime i saw him last night. Nice job.
anyhoo...
Geaux Tigers!
Go Red Raiders!
Go Gators!
hell, why not?!
Go Dawgs!
Go Tigers!
Like I said....I'm bitter.
You've GOT to play JJ at this point...Jordan has GOT to get some meaningful experience out of this year, because we've burned his redshirt by only giving him a half dozen snaps against Tulane. There's no way you can cost yourself a year of eligibility out of this kid. He's got to get snaps next week. Means the world to his future development.
Oh, and in regards to Julio...That guy pushes off CONTINUALLY. I agree that he's a great physical presence, and he's got some speed...But, the only separation he created was when he pushed off. He committed OPI at least 4 times that I saw last night.
It was obvious, and I have watched him play earlier this year...This is his modus operandi...
Welcome to my world, TigerBelle...My brain hurts after this one, but my heart hurts for the boy, even worse...Looking at the online post-game interviews, he manned up and went in front of the cameras, but you could tell he has been broken by this experience...
But, like I said...You don't get your card back for now...LOL!
Lee...i feel for him...but... sigh...that's not going to get the Tigers anywhere.
The Big 10(11) can compete nationally...
Rainey & Demps run cirlces around him, as does Trindon Holliday...
4.3 speed. Ahhh, Big Ten football.
Nimrod...
Geaux Tigers
Geaux SEC
NOTHING other than a loss will bring Alabama down. Sorry, honey, but it's not gonna happen unless Bama loses to Miss. St, Auburn, or Florida. Point being, you better cheer hard for those three teams if you hate us so much....because if we win out, we're going to Miami.
Best bet for you - Florida.
Oh, and for LSU dropping 3 spots - it's not because they lost to the #1 team in OT, it's because they have 3 losses.
We were #11, and we've lost two straight SEC games...and we've dropped 9 spots...
That's respect, if you ask me...
first girl fight on fanblogs?
haha
all bs aside...did you have a good time in the Red Stick?
Whose antics always made me smile
LSU tried to convince themselves he's good
but "he's not coaching like Nick would..."
"he's better, i swear, he's 10-2"
"he's the man for the job here at LSU"
Les Miles couldn't sleep for soon he'd be exposed
Don't tell him Nick is better cuz he already knows
With Gameday, Saban, and the Tide in town
He forgot how to smile, all he could do was frown.
When the man responsible for his success won,
He looked at the scoreboard and knew he was done.
The crystal football didn't shine so bright
When Saban walked through death valley and shut off the lights.
LSU fans said they'd give up bathin
If they could trade Les Miles in for Saban...
TE, where you at buddy???
There once was a big 12 south,
whose teams were tough and stout.
3 teams in the top five, should be a heck of a ride.
So in 2 weeks the raiders cross the great plains,
to decide the fate of all things.
With a win we will be raising our banner to challenge an SEC pretender. (sorry couldn't resist :) )
If by chance we fall, dissapoint, and run out of luck.
The BCS will turn into a huge cluster F***
The sooners took a break from critisizing that Texas coach, Mack,
and as the raiders rolled in they screamed "this year bradford is back"
Boasting stats such as "we've only lost 2 in our field",
but the raiders just yelled back "This year we won't yield"
All year long they all said we would fold,
but to quote an old western this texas tech team "broke the mold"
Not as good as yours TE. Could have been alot more creative, but too much to put in there and no one would care haha. Nice response BC and congrats on the win. I doubted your team and I admit I was wrong. Please no one continue the conversation that Alabama did not kill them blah blah blah. I challenge anyone to win in Death Valley.

BCS CHAMPIONSHIP
ALABAMA vs. TEXAS
WHO WILL WIN???
ALABAMA FAN 4 D REST OF MY LIFE
ROLL TIDE!!!
3 losses already. From the penthouse to the outhouse in 1 year. Next year, Miles is on his own with HIS recruits. Watch it spiral downward from here. We all know that Saban is "Miles" ahead of him as a coach.
Alabama can not afford to take any game for granted, being number one they have a huge bullseye painted on them in every game. Struggling to the top of the hill provides the necessary impetus to win, once a team gets there it has to display great poise to remain. Saban should be showing his players films on the second half of the Georgia game, and also films on the Kentucky game, and repeatedly asking them "what were you doing, where was the pass coverage, where was the execution?"
With the way Florida is totally dominating teams at this point, unless Alabama can rise above its weaknesses it will lose the SEC championship. I believe that Alabama can win any game if it has the will to look at its deficiencies and rise above the hype, they certainly have already passed my expectations this year. That little stunt by John Parker Wilson in the end zone possibly cost Alabama seven points in the LSU game, I hope Saban reminds him of just how childish and selfish it was.
Other then those observations Alabama is in the process of developing some great future teams sure looks like they have a winning one this year and many more to come.
I have been reading all the post.
