I think think the NCAA should have a mercy rule, how much worse can they get than they already are...

I agree Ron-what the heck-big deal- they ought to try something because the lack of victories on the feild are not going to help- coug message boards-surpized they even exist after the beatings those guys endured-all talk and no action

I still can't get over this T-Shirts thing. We're not talking wild all-night parties with lots of Perfect-10 females; we're not talking cars; we're not talking gobs of cash; we're not even talking jobs for mom & dad. We're talking T-Shirts & FOG, the latter of which a recruit can't take back home with him! I mean, is a school not even allowed to give a kid a pen or pencil with the school's logo on it? A half way decent pen will cost as much as a friggen T-Shirt. Will someone explain to me how come it's OK for a vender, vying for my purchasing their services, to take me out to lunch, and give me pens, flashlights, golf balls, baseball caps, even polo shirts. I think members of the NCAA have way too much time on their hands, because they certainly don't have enough imagination to really use their time constructively or judiciously.

We used to have "vendor reps" who were Underwriters from different lenders we used at my first stop in the mortgage industry. Coming to Baton Rouge for a week became their FAVORITE destination. Five straight nights in Baton Rouge and New Orleans, drinking everything under the sun and setting them up in "Gentlemen's Clubs" here and there ended up getting a HELLUVA lot of approvals the next day when you walked your file and customer scenario to them...

Seriously, we had at least three lenders set up schedules so they wouldn't allow certain "Traveling Underwriters" to hit us up twice in a month.

Some lenders wouldn't let their folks come back...LOL...

Anyway, just thought I'd share some memories of the Wild Wild West of the mortgage industry...

TE, it's the same no matter what industry you're in, only the faces change over a period of time....I'll be making a trip to Orlando next month, ( I will be going thru BR btw ) and will be making several stops on the way to see some equipment buyers and sellars, there will be several meals and drinks consumed over a 7 day span, I'll be treated with a few and I'll treat a few......one thing I've noticed, there's a lot more of it when the economy is bad..

I heard Bama gave an Escalade but i think thats legal since there was no logo on it.
  • Bama_Babe · 10 months ago

It is not the tee shirts that were the issue but the jersies.
  • AUtigerman · 10 months ago
Is it a violation to have players wear a jersey or just one that has there name on it?

If the name on it is the case then what about teams that dont put names on there jersey.
  • OU_Ron · 10 months ago
    Nice loop hole ;-)
  • Ben Prather · 10 months ago
Doesn't the rule say Jersey or numbers, so if they are given a jersey with a number that is represented as one they might get it would be a violation.
  • AUtigerman · 10 months ago
    Ben

I dont know too many teams that dont allow kids to wear a jersey and go on the field.

I read comments by recruits on rivals all the time of how they went into the stadium in a jersey with the music blasting.

We just let the LB's were # 55 all day, the WR's get # 1, the DT's # 99 and so on. And, of course, every future gangsta gets to sport # 32 all dayum day long.
