The money argument is nothing new and it makes sense. but consider how the MWC for the first five years of the BCS played really bad against BCS conferences. During the past five years though it's played very competitive with BCS conferences, this year taking a big step forward (Of course the MWC is going to be even stronger next year than they are this year from a personnel standpoint). This seems to contradict you're conclusion.
Also think of population trends, this works in favor of the MWC and WAC more than any other conference in the country. Each year the recruiting pools for these MWC/WAC schools get larger and larger, and more and more great athletes choose to stay close to home rather than travel far away.
Finally look at the change in rhetoric. in 2001, the question was could BYU get into a BCS bowl? 2004 Utah did it. 06 and 07 had the WAC putting back to back teams in it. People don't ask anymore if its possible, now they're asking who's it going to be. We're now seeing articles from LA times, SI, and ESPN; which seriously consider the chance that BYU may have to make it to the BCS championship game. Yeah that's a very small possibility but the trend is moving that direction, and its influencing voters. Notice how BYU jumped past Texas Tech even though they both had bye weeks! wow, that shocked me!

Re: My team won 37-21, why do I feal I am eating crow?

Since this isn't going anywhere, I want to thank Georgia for making us look a lot better.

Re: My team won 37-21, why do I feal I am eating crow?

Utah has got a great team I wouldn't worry.I personally pull for Utah alot and watch them every chance I have.I think they are way underrated and should not be underestimated. They just took it easy today on whoever they played today :/

Re: My team won 37-21, why do I feal I am eating crow?

I like messy college football seasons because they add a little bit of interest to what is generally very predictable. Still, as "unusual" as this season seems, very little has changed. Below is the AP top 20 from 25 years ago. WIth few exceptions the players remain the same.

1 Miami, FL - Okay some of the mighty have fallen
2 Nebraska - ditto
3 Auburn - Still pretty tough
4 Georgia - Today was not their best day, but they are still around
5 Texas - Yawn
6 Florida - Yawn
7 BYU - They were pissing off the big boys even back then
8 Michigan - A good win over a top ten team today
9 Ohio St. - Yawn
10 Illinois - On the verge this year
11 Clemson - Consistently over rated, even 25 years ago
12 SMU - The death penalty literally killed these guys
13 Air Force - Another MWC team - this conference is not a "new" contender
14 Iowa - Not terrible this year
15 Alabama - Ask Georgia about these guys
16 W. Virginia - Well, they won the state championship today
17 UCLA - Breaking the monopoly will take a anti-trust lawyer
18 Pittsburgh - Like the rest of the Big East - consistently over rated by ESPN
19 Boston Col. Ditto
20 E. Carolina - Who? Yes the same Pirates 25 years ago

Not a surprise that Texas who will be around #5, Georgia #4 (before tonight) and Ohio State at #9 are near the same slots, but interesting that BYU who should be around #8 this week is consistent from 25 years ago. So Ben, go through the years and the rankings are always about the same 30-40 teams with very little change. While things seem a little interesting, it is still just more of the same.

As for BYU, Utah, Boise, TCU, ECU and others, don't get too excited - the BCS is not your party and over time the money, exposure and contracts with ABC/ESPN will ensure that only a select few will get to sit at the table.
