Ok, can we make it official now that changes in uniform at Oregon are not news worthy, but rather standard opperating procedure?

It's like Florida recruiting a speedy reciever or FSU players getting in trouble with the law. Its like a team from outside the BCS qualifying for a BCS bowl. Its like USC winning the PAC 10. You expect all these things to happen.

It's really too bad they have to wear the colors of the rival Beavers. The problem with all the uniforms is that UO has lost their identity, when their high(low)lights are broadcast I don't know who they are.

One of the points that I think is a very valid discussion is the growing trend to trick up uniforms. If recruits are saying that they like alternate uniform designs and new looks, are more schools going to go the Oregon 360+ flavors route? I don't know, but it certainly could be a trend.

Kevin, you are correct as it has happened before. When Oregon first went to the Roller Derby look in 1999 there was a lot of laughter, pulling of hair, gnashing of teeth, etc. The suddenly other teams adopted the look. WVU and Cal come to mind.

You guys read that second link. It's a very interesting article about what recruits are demanding in the way of uni's before they sign with a team. It really makes a difference. Even something as innane as not having a player's name on the back of the jersey can sway decisions...

and by the way, we call them "outfits" not uniforms or costumes..

I admire the innovations. We can't compete with the long standing traditional uniforms, so why not do something diofferent.

...and to my Beaver friend, lot's of schools are wearing black, so get over it. The Beavs also wear Nike uniformsas a point of fact. I am glad you guys dropped the bra look uniforms. Please do not lose in Tucson this weekend as I am hoping it's the Ducks who crush your Rose Bowl dreams on 11/29. Did I really see Roses in Corvallis last weekend? With two games to go????

I thought I saw you post the other day that you were torn, that you would like to see OSU in the Rose Bowl. Now you are jumping on the JJ band wagon wanting to be dream breakers. And I do cuncur, roses with two tough game left was a bit premature. Although if I remember right it was maybe 11 months that the whole UO talk was National Champions, do you remember that?

Actually, with the Washington-BYU, Fresno State-Wisconsin, USC Oregon State and others games one could make the argument that the PAC 10 is trying hard to lose its corrupt history and that the Big 12/WAC/MWC officiating coalition has taken a step to the dark side.

Could this be the real story behind the MWC 6-1 vs PAC 10 this year?

I have actually suggested to the Duck Atheletic Fund that a Midget dressed as a Green and Yellow Roman soldier riding a white Duck named Traveller would be more appropriate...not getting much attention though.

I would change one thing on Penn State's unis. I would put that oval logo on the right side of the helmet. Leave the left blank. That's a simple but great logo that needs to be put to good use.

What would really be neat If they let the individual players select whatever combination that he wanted to wear on gameday. The different combinations would set an example of bad taste and cause an non conformaty effect and the Ducks would be recognized in the CFB world as true rebels. Would it look bad- sure six or eight different helment colors on the feild at the same time with 20 different jersey-pants combo's. Na Mom tonight I'm wearing black headgear, white jersey and bright yellow neon pants. I'm saving the checkerboard & green for the Stanford game and Bruno is going to stick with an all green,green,green topped off with the yellow shoes. You cant help but regonize us., except he might wear a white helmet this week,
