I agree. That is the attitude Fresno caries, and was the attitude the MWC wanted to go with when it originally formed.

A non-BCS team with this kind of schedule can get to the BCS with a loss. Hawaii like schedules require an undefeated season.

The odds of Fresno State ending with only one loss are better than Hawaii ending undefeated, in a typical year. The better compitition on an annual basis give Fresno State an experience and advantage and more respect nationally.

I strongly dissagree with the notion that Hawaii demonstrated that non-BCSteams is better scheduling cup-cakes that quality BCS teams.

I hate my team scheduling Weber State this year(I mean purple wildcats? Really?). BYU could have done better than Northern Iowa.

well byu has a more vetran team this year with almost all the of the offense coming back I think that we could maybe have a chance but then there not so experienced d would have to come up huge so i think we can go undefeate if the defense shows up all year

In keeping with the BCS double standard, as we all know, BCS teams can get away with playing a N IA. Unfortunately for BYU, all due respect, non-BCS teams can't. Which is sad, in my opinion, as there are good teams on thier schedule. Only if BYU slices through it convincingly from top to bottom might the BCS consider giving them a look for a shot at the NC; that is, if BYU were the only undefeated team. Considering they couldn't do it against a similar schedule last year, I'm doubting it.

I just don't see BYU getting the vote even if they go undefeated. They would have to totally dominate the teams on their schedule to even remotely contemplate putting them into the MNC game.
@Washington, UCLA at home, @TCU, @Air Force,@ Utah not much chance they make it through that undefeated anyway.

Ok, an unworthy non-BCS team can worm their way into a BCS bowl and get killed by a BCS team.

I remind you that an unworthy BCS team can worm their way into a BCS Bowl and get killed by a non-BCS team (Pittsburgh).

*IF* BYU starts in the top 15 and goes undefeated I expect them to be in the national chamiopnship, unless 2 or more BCS teams go undefeated as well.

BYU is respected more than Hawaii.

I don't think BYU is going undefeated.

Summary:

To get to the national championship game a team outside the BCS would need to start the season in the top 20 and go undefeated. A top 15 start would be nice.

Two undefeated BCS teams kills the idea.

BYU has a chance this year, but I think they will get over confident and lose at least one game. A non-BCS team with one loss can make it to the BCS, and I believe this is the year it will happen.
