How is Hawaii not on this list. Must have a lot of home games. Big 10 teams love going there late in the year.
  • Kevin @ Fanblogs · 1 year ago
Yeah! What about Hawaii?!?! This guy must be a Sun Belt homer.
  • Ben Prather · 1 year ago
    He explicitly excluded Hawaii.

It is impossible to measure a distance to Hawaii using Map Quest, the measure used.

Hawaii would certainly be #1, and the teams that play them would go up an additional 3000 miles.

There are many good reasons to just state that Hawaii obviously wins, and should be excluded.

Clearly we are in the DEPTHS of CFB Withdrawal and have gone giddy with the anticipation of KO Thursday. ENOUGH of the watercress and cucumber salad and palate-cleansing lemon water already.

Bring on the red meat, potatoes, fried things and beer.

May the CFB Gawds relieve our misery and THROW US DOWN SOME FOO'BAW!!!

I couldn't have said it better myself. Thursday is not so far off now. Not much waiting left to do.

These mileage scheduling articles don't seem to take into account ...well....any acknowledgment of what a map of the US looks like.

Forget about non-BCS travel for a minute. Games that matter are played amongst BCS teams.

There are only 8 BCS teams in the entire Pacific Time Zone.

There are only 3 BCS teams in the Mountain Time Zone (AZ, ASU, and Colorado....technically the state of AZ is in a quirky time zone, but humor me. Physically they are more MST and PST)

So *of course* the Pac 10 teams are going to travel if they want to play BCS teams.

And of course the WAC and MWC are going to have to travel if they want to play anyone.

There just physically aren't many teams in the West.

Did you know that there are only 3 non-conference BCS teams within 1000 miles of Arizona State. Colorado, Texas Tech and Oklahoma.

You don't get merit badges for bravery in scheduling if you have no choice but to travel.

PS -- the Pac 10 stretches across an area over 1,600 miles long. Including their in-conference travel distances is even sillier.

PWD making it rain. Dropping knowledge like it is HOT.

Regan showed me this originally (if I remember correctly) and it helps illustrate your point.

Arizona is always in the Mountain Time Zone. But we never change our clocks, so sometimes the time differs from the rest of the Mountain Time Zone even though we are still in that time zone.

Trust me, I used to think that we switched to the Pacific Time Zone during half the year, but then a former trucker set me straight.

What does road mileage have to do with anything other than travel budget?

What percent of the travel budget is for transportation vs lodging?

What is the point of this article?

Simply this: WE ARE READY FOR SOME REAL FOOTBALL TO TALK ABOUT!!

any team that travels to Hawaii this year, needs to have their mileage upped this year.
see SJ St, LA Tech, Nevada, Idaho, Wash St and Cincinnati
  • Kevin @ Fanblogs · 1 year ago
You did see the entire section stating that these were driving distances and that Hawaii (and games at Hawaii, for that matter) are excluded because a) Mapquest does not honor the search and b) there is no bridge.

Why doesn't Hawaii count? That makes no sense.....no teams drive everywhere......

Proof once more that Fresno State practices what they preach....anybody, anytime, anywhere.
    Just ask Rutgers!
    Go Dogs! Win the WAC

So why does East Carolina have the tougher OOC schedule?

And Why do you post only on threads that are off the top page? Is that so you can look like you got the last word in after we have moved on?

I would love to hear the voice of a Fresno State fan in a CURRENT thread.
