Fanblogs.com: Stoops to the Denver Broncos?

  • OU_Ron · 11 months ago
Eleven teams in the Big 12 is praying this will happen, expecially one coach that whines thru his nose when he talks, is preaching the sermon......Good luck to Bob if he goes, I say promote Kevin Wilson.............GO SOONERS

Why? Why pull your elementary school age children out of their hometown - the only one they have ever known? If you are happy with the school, your home, your bosses, etc - it is all risk with little reward. Bob Stoops does not strike me as an ego driven person that has a desire to conquer college football, the NFL and then play baseball or something like that just to prove to the world / himself he can do it.

I understand the human need for new challenges and new horizons, but if I were counseling coach Stoops, I'd have to say let the NFL wait for 10 years or so. It will still be there if/when he ever wanted it.

Hopefully he is reading this... Stay!

I'm still about 95% sure that he will stay. How could he not?!?
  • TrueBornSooner · 11 months ago
I doubt Stoops will go - unless he has decided he can't do anything else at the college level.

Why pull your kids out of there schools? As a resident of Denver and a former resident of OKC, one reason OKLAHOMA SUCKS. That said I don't even really like the Idea of Stoops coming to Denver. But its hard to see why anyone would stay in OK when they have an opportunity to move to Colorado. Easily the best out of the 6 states I've lived in.
Oklahoma is OK, yeah that's the problem it's just OK nothing more

Keep your Rocky Mountains. At least my son's Oklahoma school can teach basic grammar.
  • mrnyceguy · 11 months ago
Oh sorry. The best of the six states in which I've lived. Colorado is not to
blame as I wasn't educated here. Furthermore, if your son stays in OK all
the wonderful grammar is out the window. I'll keep my Rockies and you can
    keep Stoops
  • mrnyceguy · 11 months ago
Wow, I just read that post. Kudos, my grammar is horrible there.
  • grover · 11 months ago
I was referring to "there" schools vs "their" school, not the six states I've lived in line.

If you are going to shout Oklahoma sucks in all caps I think it is fair to assume you should be prepared- even if you are Mr. Nice Guy.

I doubt the Broncos owner agrees with you about the schools, since he is a graduate of OU with a degree in business and law.............

"Easily the best out of the 6 states I've lived in."

I'm currious to hear about the other 5. I've been to Denver. I've also been to Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, Columbus, Hartford, LA, Miami, & NYC (to name a few). To be honest, while CO is nice, I'm surprised you'e still in Denver. That said, trust me; one can do far worse than Norman. Stoops to Denver ain't gonna happen. Remember; you heard it here 1st.

I've lived in Texas, Oklahoma, Utah, New York (upstate), and Nevada. Been to
plenty more. I moved here when I was 17 and have left Denver twice, but I
keep finding my way back. Only downside is all the whiny liberals taking over. Keep the wide open Plains and give me the
mountains anyday. Oh and like my post said I don't want Stoops here, we
don't need another college to pro experiment. Go Big 12 on Thursday, but
Texas hosed and Utah got the shaft

    "New York (upstate)"

Get outta he-a! Where wuz you at upstate? I graduated from HS north of Albany, a town called Clifton Pk. Oh, and by the way, I happen to like Mt's. I'm just used to the shorter older version: Appalachians, Berkshires, Catskills, Pochano's, etc. Thar be neat places in themz too. I do know what you mean bouts them thar liberals. It's one reason I left CT to come out to NE. It's a lot more peaceful out here, but I do miss mountains & trees.
  • OU_Fan · 11 months ago
Um, Texas didn't get hosed. There was a 3-way tie. The team that beat Texas lost their bowl game to Ole Miss...BOOMER!
  • CaneResurrection · 11 months ago
So, the team that beat the team that beat Oklahoma lost their bowl game to Ole Miss? How can that be?

Just joking. I just love the circular logic in college football. There was no wrong answer between those two.

It's like if Superman fought Batman, who would win. That's how we pick our National Champion.
