Oklahoma has beaten WVU twice, also. Once in 1957 and once in 1978. R U tell'n me U missed the 2008 Fiesta Bowl. There it was: another opportunity for a TX fan to see OK get beat, and U missed it? ABSOLUTELY OUTRAGEOUS!!! Why back in my RAF days…ahem. To me, it was just like when WVU played GA. All game long I was in disbelief waiting for the other shoe to drop, which didn't happen. Sorry you missed it.

Re: Study finds harmless NCAA penalties are harmless

Actually, it was the 2nd time. I wanna say 1982; Jeff Hostetler was QB; WVU won in Norman, 41-27, after spotting OK a 14-0 lead. Trust me; I was as shocked as any OK fan, especially considering what OK did to WVU the time before that. (That game wasn't even close.)

What's weird is, after beating Switzer & company in Norman, WVU barely beat MD, the following week 28-27, when MD went for the win with a 2 pt conversion and blew it. Go figure.

Re: Study finds harmless NCAA penalties are harmless

1Tomcat I'll remind you that no where in any of my post did I mention a certain Texas Longhorns fan sound like a fool!

Re: Study finds harmless NCAA penalties are harmless

I guess a team loses once to a team the losing team never will beat the winning team ever. It's over zealous youngsters like 1Tomcat. If there is proof no problem. Texas fans have no proof and they just cannot get over the fact that Texas has fewer National Titles in football than Oklahoma. A few years ago Texas recruited an offensive lineman from Oklahoma. He was smart for choosing Oklahoma over Texas BUT if a Texas high school football player player choses Oklahoma over Texas then Oklahoma "stole" or "paid" the player. Texas fans just cannot accept the fact that Oklahoma is a better program currently. Texas will have more wins than Oklahoma the next few years not because they are better...Texas is scheduling teams they feel they can beat. I did not hide my feeling about Oklahoma playing a Division 1-AA school. That Texas' style. So when Oklahoma beats down Texas again and win a National Title will will still hear how it was made possible because Barry Switzer CHEATED!

Re: Study finds harmless NCAA penalties are harmless

It does not matter! I don't care. It's silly Texas fans that keep bring up the Barry Switzer "cheating" topic. I am surprised you clowns have not petitioned Congress to investigate these allegations! I don't care if or what Texas offered him to play. He did not go there. I do not care what penalties Texas had on Fred Ackers watch. I have yet to read Oklahoma fans bring that up but you Texas fans hold on to that Barry Switzer cheated theory like superglue. That just another way Texas fans can justify Oklahoma having 7 National Titles in football to Texas 4. Let it go. Move on!

Re: Study finds harmless NCAA penalties are harmless

Did your frriend play for the Sealy Tigers?
They had a great team, we played them .
Its all old stuff now, the Pontiac thing
BTW The car came from A&M boosters

Re: Study finds harmless NCAA penalties are harmless

"Nick Saban has begun "the process" and I'm willing to give him at least a few years to make our team a BCS regular."

Now, that's being reasonable. It's a civic minded, philantrhopic end.

In collegiate athletics, it's all about amateur competition...on a level playing field...

I don't like schools like Catholic High or Parkview Baptist in Baton Rouge to participate against schools that are in the public system and "can't recruit". They're not playing on the same field...

If Arkansas or Oregon were allowed to use booster money to attract recruits, they'd compete for National Titles year in and year out...That's not fair to a school like LSU who may not have a Walton Family or a Phil Knight...

The Yankees win in pro sports because they throw so much money around...Same in the NFL...Though Oakland is a notable exception (they throw the benji's, but they have Al Davis' Joe Paterno-like aged and out of touch self doing the throwing)...

Collegiate athletics is the highest level of amateur athletic competition in our nation...
