Fanblogs.com: The Worst #1 Ranked Teams in History

  • Zac · 1 year ago
It's hard to argue with success, as is in this case, a lack there-of.

    Oh, and another thing...OOO-TEE-NEE!!!
  • Clemson_Joe · 1 year ago
This might be a stupid question, but I'm willing to risk it. What does "ooo-tee-nee" mean?
  • Ben Prather · 1 year ago
    It appears to mean FIRST!!!!!
  • Zac · 1 year ago
I'll have to plea the 5th on this one. All I can tell you is the Jawas said it a lot in the 1st Star Wars movie. Wat da heck; it woiks fer me.
  • PittsburghTiger · 1 year ago
I remember that Pitt season very well. Too well honestly.
  • Adam Armstrong · 1 year ago
I know this is about #1's but the preseason #3 ranking of Alabama in 2000 where they finished 3-whatever has to make the list of worst performances under high expectations, what do ya'll think?
  • TigerEducated · 1 year ago
Can someone clarify h, for me...Seriously...I have been here most of the offseason and have managed to miss it...Maybe it was in one of those oppressingly statistically oriented threads my eyes glaze over after getting two paragraphs into...

Oh, and Kev...What in the hell is a cake fart?
  • OU_Ron · 1 year ago
cake fart, well that could be one of those that travel up you spine, seeps into your mind and makes you throw out $hitty remarks and thoughts...
  • TigerEducated · 1 year ago
    OU_Ron,

Did you take the part about oppressingly statistically oriented threads part to heart? Was that directed at moi? I assure that I don't know who all gets involved in those, but there just not to my liking. I don't have anyone I can call out for being the root of those threads, so my apologies if you're taking that one a tad too personally...

They're just not my bag, podnuh...
  • OU_Ron · 1 year ago
TE, I would never direct a negative thought toward you, I can only imagine the backlash and word thrash that I would receive..........actually, that might be my nomination for the definition of the " h "
  • TigerEducated · 1 year ago
There are plenty of folks here who could...

WEA, T-Mac, & BigTide are probably the only ones in the SEC that can, though :)

(Now that I think about it...Gatorhippy can, from time to time)

All other SEC folk get their posts treated like a doublewide in a tornado...

But Big XII'ers are free to denigrate without fear of reprisal...

"All other SEC folk get their posts treated like a doublewide in a tornado..."

    Even me?
  • Ramblin' Gator · 1 year ago
I'm so scared, Porcine - how 'bout you?

    Hold me.

H is clarified as part of THIS THREAD.

Scroll down about 2/3rds of the way to Tom Blogical's posts starting the h discussion. Its history is even explored in this thread.

Sorry for the stats threads. I give a 75% chance that I am responsible for it.

The nice thing is we have thread of all flavors:

    Fashion threads
    Statistical based threads
Paparazzi Who Just got Caught threads
Lets Get the Party Started Already! threads

Just skip the ones you don't like, for example, my most recent ones.

1984 Auburn preseason ranked #1. Who wins NT? BYU. preseason rank? they werent ranked.

So then whats the point in preseason rankings?
  • Ben Prather · 1 year ago
A great argument against the statement that teams like Auburn 2004 have no room to complain that they got shafted by a low start before the season?

By the way, the SEC as a whole had their worst, BY FAR, OCC performance in 2004.
  • PittsburghTiger · 1 year ago
Pitt was one blown coverage away from beating BYU that day. It was a late TD pass....sent Pitt into the tailspin they are just getting out of. And sent BYU on the way to the National Championship. I think BYU played a crappy Michigan team in the Holiday Bowl.

    Mississippi fought segregation?
  • joe · 1 year ago
Mississippi-unemployable work force? Maybe you should ask Nissan, they are here, and Toyota, they are COMING.
  • War_Eagle_Atlanta · 1 year ago
I think that the 2003 Auburn team that started 0-2 is worthy of mention, too. They weren't an AP preseason #1, but some selectors started them there. Essentially it was the same team that would go undefeated a year later, you know, because of their cupcake OOC schedule...
