OOO-TEE-NEE!!!
whatever the heck that means...
get it over with...
I won't take anything away from the Buckeyes; anyone that could even hang with those Hurricanes deserve props. Miami should have mopped the floor with Ohio State the way they did with Nebraska the year before.
The Buckeyes came to play, kept it even, and the ball bounced their way in the end.
Besides, think of the uproar that would have ensued had the Interference call not been made and Miami won - would you want to win that way?
Cheesing it out like a bunch of Buckeyes???
LOL, jk everyone. :)
I bet if you research it it was the PAC 10.
Besides, Pac-10 refs make bad calls to benefit their teams. :)
Back in 1991. I met on an airplane the field judge from that infamous 5th down game between Colorado and Missouri the previous year. He explained to me that it was bad enough that all the officials missed it, but pointed out that everyone else in the stadium, on the sidelines and in the press box missed it, too.
He had a point... Watch it here.
#1: Pac-10: Not even close, despite how much you want it to be. I've got two words for you: BUSH-PUSH. Assuming that's not enough, how about: Oregon-Oklahoma-Onside?
#2: ACC: But they have gotten better in the last few years.
#3-11: I don't know/care. Two days, 12 hours....
ACC: 37 games - 30 replays - 15 overturned - 50.0%
Pac10: 30 games - 38 replays - 14 overturned - 36.8%
Big10: 37 games - 38 replays - 13 overturned - 34.2%
Big 12: 38 games - 39 replays - 13 overturned - 33.3%
Big East: 26 games - 27 replays - 9 overturned - 33.3%
SEC: 39 games - 27 replays - 8 overturned - 29.6%
For the PAC 0 I suspect foul play, which would lower the overturn rate artificially.
For the SEC I suspect ineptness, which could be applied to the replay official too.
No question about it - just what degree of rankness is all that's left.
id ask you to re-consider.
i think they give pac 10 a run for their money.
now everyone knows about the worst call in history. the Oklahoma/Oregon onside call.
but what about these two calls.
check 'em out:
1. pass interference no-call: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rEFgxehqIcM
2. and the overturned catch after review: http://2007crimsontide.blogspot.com/2007/11/mat...
nooo. not even TE would try that. he would just try to minimize the effect that those two calls had on the game.
and try to argue that LSU would've won regardless.
TE?? this is your que.
Watched a H/S game last Friday and this kid was tackled by a blocker, everybody saw it except those guys in the striped shirts, heck if that aint holding -what is?
Our team was having alot of trouble on D without the refs help, sometimes its so bad its like how can you not see that, then our coaches go to hollering- heck this kid wasnt held he was mauled, thrown on the ground. Anyway the team that won was from a big town that actually had 3 seperate teams, fresh,JV and varsity. Our Freshman team was also our JV team and these guys had fresh players, most of which didnt play both ways.
Their bigger, stronger and they's more of them, plus they got the refs too.
Our boys didnt stand a chance, might as well been playin A&M.
"big" game is going to be overshadowed by a thousand good calls in non-decisive (non-conference,
non-bowl games etc.) games.
It's not the calls that they use against the Trojans - it's the non-calls. It's all the holding on the line and the grabbing of the receivers. These are the things that go on in just about every Pac-10 game that the Trojans are involved in. Ever wonder why USC has that mid-season rut? After the conference figures out that they can't get a suitable replacement - they go ahead and let USC play. That's why they'll usually finish out strong. Whenever the Pac-10 has a strong Cal, Arizona State or Oregon team - they are gonna try and give USC at least one loss or maybe two.
Personally, I'm real worried about FUCLA right now. They have the marquee coaches and a nice venue for the Pac-10 to try and help promote. I'd be real surprised if the Bruins don't start getting alot of calls going their way and to be able to hold all that they want to. If I were a Tennessee fan I'd be lookin' for this in the upcoming weekend. Would not surprise me at all if FUCLA isn't handed this game.
Take that you overated cry me a river about refs pitiful SEC.
The PAC 10 runs deper then the SEC and we do it with 10 teams.
Pac 10 teams play tougher schedules and just go and win baby!!!!!
This weekend we beat SEC, Big 10 and an ACC team...LIKE ALWAYS
Cry all you want..all that matters is the score and the knowledge that TN can't beat Cal nor can it beat UCLA. Now go get in your big ol truck and drive back to the Pig Farm losers!
