Western looks completely unprepared and inept. This is a joke. If any high school senior was considering WMU- this performance and its COMPLETE INEPTNESS - would certify they would go to another school. Cubit should be FIRED, not given an extension!

Cal wil have 8 wins and there are 7 bowls that designate a pac 10 team. It appears that only 5 pac 10 teams will be bowl eligible ,so how is it that you dont show CAL IN ANY BOWL GAME?

during UF - fsu game abc had to show highlights of charlie ward years to remind viewers @ one time fsu had a decent team( bowden needs to go) still not a bad team for the ACC (ALL CUP CAKE CONF)

I agree the Big 12 has no defenses to speak of but the Big 10 has some of the best defenses in the country

The National Championship game will be played this year in the SEC Championship. FLA vs. Alabama. Until there is a play-off I don't give a sh__ about the BCS NC. I am soo sick of seeing teams like OU and Ohio get in with no defense. Defense and depth wins Championships. We know a thing or two about that by now don't we?

No; I'm not like T.E. at all, except that I am a huge L.S.U. fan (This is a real Understatement too!!!). as he seems to be also. I just see it like it seems to be realistically. Sometimes, I'm wrong and sometimes, I'm right. I guess that's true with everybody though. Hehehehehehehe ........ So, I'm not like T.E. probably in anyway except that we both really love the Tiger's. So, Geaux Tigers!!!! (L.S.U. is) We're down this year, but we'll be back, I'm pretty sure of that too. I'm probably just a little (Shshshshsh ............................. alot) more mature than T.E. is too.

Boy, it must be tough in your world, Mayor. I bet your guts are just turning with the thought of what you rooted for last weekend.

I think your 8 points are generous, with Quiz a maybe and sounds like thay may start Canfield (Although he did have a decent day, but some of those passes may not have got by ThurmanIII).

Last week I was ready for a rematch with Penn State but after watch the sloughter of Mich State I'm not sure I'm ready. Although I'd give Rielly the chance with 4 weeks to prepare.

You're right, and because Tech beat Texas in Lubbock when Mack didn't manage the clock, I believe you will beat Mizzo and go to the Fiesta Bowl.

I'm not sure what provision is in place when the conference has no other teams eligible. For example, Purdue played in the Sun Bowl three out of four years in this decade, including two in a row. I don't know if the Sun can forgo a Pac10 rep if the outcome would be having to take an at-large. I presume the Pac10 would want the revenue split, so... we'll just have to wait and see.

NOTE: A previous version of this column incorrectly interpreted selection rules regarding Big East teams and Notre Dame. Several Big East bowl projections, as well as Notre Dame's, have since been changed.

Now that Notre Dame appears headed toward a 6-6 finish, the Gator Bowl will set its sights instead on a Big 12 team. Word is the Gator is eyeing 7-4 Nebraska (assuming it beats Colorado) and its massive horde of traveling fans.

The Sun Bowl will covet the Irish even at 6-6, but cannot take them over a Big East team if the Big East produces six seven-win teams. I'm projecting Rutgers to become that sixth team, in which case Notre Dame falls to any bowl with an open spot. On a purely speculative whim, I'm placing them in the Texas Bowl, for now.

What about both? I would then have to root for a VA tech win as that would actually make one of the best situations we could have with a Va Tech-WVU revival of the black diamond rivalry in the Orange bowl. sorry but I wouldn't be able to root for FSU if that was a possibility.
