Star Wars is gay, end of story. It saddens me to see football and this non-sense in the same story.
  • The_Observer · 6 months ago
Calling things gay is gay, end of story.
  • fosterkeats · 6 months ago
Can you give me your address??? I have some cheese to send you to go along with your WHINE...
  • War_Eagle_Atlanta · 6 months ago
Gay? Maybe. But let me tell ya, ancient stories and hokey homo comparisons are no substitute for a good blaster at your side...

Come on Mr.2B. There's no easier pop culture reference to go to in a pinch!
  • Mr2Bits · 6 months ago
True, I think it's just the company that Star Wars attracts that annoys me.
  • War_Eagle_Atlanta · 6 months ago
Better or worse than Star Trek? Discuss!!!
  • 1Tomcat · 6 months ago
WEA there is always a Texas connection
    Captain Worf The Klingon
  • Mr2Bits · 6 months ago
Thats a loaded question as both are on the bad end. I'd have to say Star Trek, those dbags are really something else.
  • 1Tomcat · 6 months ago
Its not as bad as pokeymon
  • Ramblin' Gator · 6 months ago
I survived my daughter watching Teletubbies for two years. After that, nothing seems gay anymore.
  • Mr2Bits · 6 months ago
Yea, I have not entered the fathering years of my life yet but assume my wife and I are in for a real treat in the coming years
  • Ramblin' Gator · 6 months ago
You will love those shows as they entertain your kids and give you a break from parenting. You will hate those shows as they suck the sanity right out of you.
  • War_Eagle_Atlanta · 6 months ago
What colored tubbie was your favorite?
  • Ramblin' Gator · 6 months ago
I'm ashamed to admit my favorite Teletubbies character is the vacuum cleaner:

    How gay is that?
  • 1Tomcat · 6 months ago
We went from Thomas the train through pokeymon and then on into Godzilla- we have a lot of cheap Japanese giant monster videos- really hard not to laugh at some-really fake looking, but still better than pokeymon
BTw what ever happened to anamaniacs? really clever WB cartoons-I really liked those pigeons-"and mice- What are we going to do today Brain?
"Same thing we do everyday Pinky- take over the world"
  • Ramblin' Gator · 6 months ago
I liked Animaniacs too. My nephew and niece watched it when I visited my sister and I noticed the animated cat had a beautiful singing voice. Turned out to be Bernadette Peters. Pinky and the Brain were funny too.

Somebody call the Whhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaambulance, Mr. 2Bits doesn't like Star Wars...

Dude...I'm 30 years old, and I had all 3 of 'em on VHS, and I have all 3 of 'em on DVD now...

Having said that, I don't own a single one of the more recent ones, as they gargled balls...
  • Mr2Bits · 6 months ago
Not quite following how saying star wars is gay relates into me whining about something........... Just said don’t compare all that is holy in college football to a what can equate to some of the nerdiest people known to man.

Most Star Wars/Star Trek fans can't put down their plastic toys and cod pieces long enough to even know the rules of football. These are the people that played dungeons and dragons and got stuffed in lockers growing up. How many of these people do you know are die hard football fans? Outside of the occasional outlier...I'd say slim-to-none.

Enjoy as I'm sure these guys can be found in Baton Rouge on Saturdays : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_Pdyv3DG-s

I’m surprised as well. Find those crazies everywhere. Just wait until you catch one of their conferences.

It seems like Urban Meyer has gone and "gotten a lil' too big for his britches."

for a coach that hasn't really been around that long, he sure is coming down hard on former gators that he has no real connection with.

Mistake 1 was just RESPONDING to a criticism by a former player.
Meyer needs to learn to not be such a douche. You're really gonna ban a former NFL player from hanging around your program because he criticized the offensive strategy in a LOSS?
    get over yourself bro.
Just let it slide. it was nothing personal, and Shane Matthews seems like a huge gator fan. The only thing he accomplished here was destroying a relationship with a former gator/NFL player, his family, his friends, and everyone that views Shane Matthews in a positive light.
put it this way, Meyer did NOT earn any more liking or respect from any gator fan or player with this childish move.

...and with all these rumors about Meyer waiting on the Notre Dame job to open up, maybe he needs to start coaching from seat 37F...
  • Ramblin' Gator · 6 months ago
It appears Meyer and Matthews are now "making nice" though it seems to be a tenuous relationship. I'll bet neither will be critical of the other in the near future and I mean this in a bad way - they're both scared to open their mouths.

Meyer remarked in a south Florida booster meeting over the weekend that he feels like he can't say anything without causing an over-reaction. That's certainly true and it's one of the responsibilities of leadership - Meyer should know that by now.

I'll add this in defense of Shane Matthews: if his radio show was all fawning and no criticism, I would never listen to it. (Not that I can listen to it - his station is out of range for me.)
  • War_Eagle_Atlanta · 6 months ago
He's not on the internet? Maybe I will start to listen now.

I wonder if Meyer and Spurrier will make nice now? It must suck to be Steve, having some hired gun come in and crowd your resume out of the trophy cabinet...
  • War_Eagle_Atlanta · 6 months ago
I think Skywalker originally borrowed that quote from George W. Bush, who uttered it sometime after the 9-11 attacks...

And for you Alabama fans who feel left out, Paul Finebaum this week dares to compare Meyer AND Saban to a stick in the mud...
  • Ramblin' Gator · 6 months ago
According to George Lucas, he was aiming for Richard Nixon when he hit George W. Bush with that aphorism...

I was really hoping you'd have liked my Dagobah-Rouge reference more. I stumbled into that one. I was looking up the name of the planet Yoda was from and it said that it was murky and swampy, with bayous. Just like Louisiana!!!!

While the star wars thing is all too amusing (Like FosterK, I made the mistake of eating while reading...what a mess!!!), let's try a different movie on for size. See if you recognize this one.

"I'm just talking mad, is all. You're supposed to be able to talk mad to your friends, if they are."

    "You can, and they are."

In other words, if a relationship is genuine between individuals, one should be able to constructively criticize the other and the other accept it without being defensive and judgmental. (That goes for the one criticizing as well.) The problem is actually easily defined: Matthews criticized Meyer and Meyer didn't like it. So, Meyer took Matthews advice, went on the offensive (literally), and attacked Matthews. It's called sandbox logic. And, no, it doesn't speak well for each.

I cannot believe for one minute that Matthews doesn't think Meyer wants to win games and does his darndest to try. I also cannot believe for one minute that Meyer views loyalty as a fascist state; i.e. it's my way or the highway. The point is both men (boyz?) need to quit trying to impress the media with their individual philosophies and grow up. Just a thought.

What is this grow up concept you mention?

Pardon me, I am dressing up to see Star Trek for the 10th time. Gotta get the Romulan ears just right...
  • fosterkeats · 6 months ago
And plenty of Romulan Ale too, eh???
