With their championship hopes now a figment of their imagination, htey had to play a lowly Utah. Nothing to win and who cares if they lose. Utah caught Alabama with about 10% motivation to play another game.

The SEC, America's Toughest College Football conference. Florida won the conference championship (remind me, did Utah play in a conference championship game???) Then they played another #1 team and beat them too. Can anyone in Utah really compare their schedule to the SEC teams? Especially Florida? The only thing that needs to change in the BCS is this... If you don't play in a conference that has a conference championship game, find someone else in the same boat and play them.

Re: Utah Attorney General may sue the BCS

Utah couldn't beat Florida if the gators spotted them 42 points. Utah should not be number one because they play above average football. I say... let Utah play the gators and we can watch all you Utes be disappointed with a crushing loss.

Re: Utah Attorney General may sue the BCS

That would require us to stop spending money on things like people's 4th crack baby and paying autoworkers 70K a year to turn a wrench....wait they don't do that anymore ok 70K a year to press the start button.

Re: Utah Attorney General may sue the BCS

Nebraska??? Where is Tommy Tubberville calling for a playoff? Where is Mike Adams saying this wasn't what the conferences signed on for? None of these nutjobs care about the system in place unless it's their school on the outside looking in. Then they don't care anymore once the next season starts. That's why I don't put any faith in this crap.

Re: Utah Attorney General may sue the BCS

Just to make sure you know...I was completely joking.

Re: Utah Attorney General may sue the BCS

Not me.... Congress can only speed up or slow down the process. I would prefer that they work on reducing the deficit but in lieu of doing the impossible, fixing the BCS is a start.
The fifth BCS game was the result of a lawsuit and because the NCAA and BCS position was so wrong, they caved in a New York minute.

Re: Utah Attorney General may sue the BCS

I agree with Shurtleff in principle, but that's not the point. He's using the power of his elected position to try to influence something that will fix itself eventually. Even if it doesn't work itself out, there's no way he can substantiate his claims. Financial hardship my rear end. This is something that won't sit well with any of the voters, including those who support him.

The last thing we need is for the government to be meddling in our personal affairs (any more than what they already are, that is). That's not what America is about.

Re: Utah Attorney General may sue the BCS

Congress held steroids hearings to demonize the players and make MLB owners look clean as the driven snow. Arlen Spector just held hearing into the NFL Spygate and Al Franken is about to become the US Senator from Minnesota.
Mark Shurtleff looks like a square shooter and I think he is right.
Bring on a playoff of conference champions. It wouldn't have helped Texas this year but after the thrashing that Utah gave Alabama last week, it would have given Utah a chance at the glass football.

Re: Utah Attorney General may sue the BCS

No, I think it's more like not promoting a woman over a man, even though the man was less productive, because this is a "man's job".

Re: Utah Attorney General may sue the BCS

Is it the Utah AG's election year?
