That coozie is hilarious. If I were a fan of tOSU, I'd definitely have a few.

    Piss on that Vest.

    Here's to you, Mr. Head-Football-Coach-Trademark-Clothing-Replica-Wearer.
It's not enough that fans will paint their faces or don Superhero outfits done over in team colors, no, you go the extra mile to impersonate the Head Football Coach.
You make the The Sweater Vest, The Disposable Visor, The Clunky Headset, The Hat or The Walker, put it on and show all of college footballdom that your coach is the Shiz Nit.
We raise our plastic bottles of Belgian Bud Lite to you, Mr. Head-Football-Coach-Trademark-Clothing-Replica-Wearer, because, by showing us you have no meaningful life, you've proven that you're a Great American Zero.

It's funny what winning a few (quite a few) games will do for you.
Anyone remember what John Cooper was wearing during the years that Michigan was smacking us around?
  • Tom_Blogical · 1 year ago
Yeah, an 800 pound gorilla on his back.
  • War_Eagle_Atlanta · 1 year ago
    LMAO!!
  • Tom_Blogical · 1 year ago
You shouldn't laugh. He's still wearing it. ;-)
  • Marko · 1 year ago
How cute. That sweater vest will be gone in a few years after Rich Rodriguez gets a winning streak vs OSU. Its the way things go with the OSU-Michigan rivalry. One school gets a streak, the other gets the best coach out there... and vice versa.

    WOW...

The guy on the left... his hand/arm is HUGE

He's got the fist of King Kong.

It's nice to know that distinctive school clothing is still alive and kicking since the Bear Bryant Houndstooth and Bud Wilkinson Fedora hat days.
  • Kevin @ Fanblogs · 1 year ago
I actually dig the houndstooth gear that Bama is selling these days, including those limited uniforms!
  • gatorhippy · 1 year ago
It's like a tuxedo t-shirt for tOSU fans...

I love the short sleeve dress shirt Dwight Schrute look...classy

I wonder if these two will be there personally to watch tOSU lose another championship game?
  • Zac · 1 year ago
I used to like wearing sweater vests. I preferred forest greens & dark tans which zipped up the front. I actually dated a...ahem...rather well endowed woman many years ago, who also enjoyed wearing sweater vests. The night of our very 1st date, in between dinner and going to a club, it became necessary to stop by my house. We no sooner walked through the door when she was greeted by my dog, a husky/shepherd mix. Being the friendly mutt that he was, he jumped up, whereby one of his claws caught the ring on the zipper of her vest, pulling it down to reveal...ahem...all she was endowed with. Needless to say I chided my puppy as she zipped up, and later...a great time was had by all...without the dog. (Relax, guys; I rewarded him with plenty of his favorite biscuits.)

So, anyone wanna bet Tressel doesn't have a story like this?
  • GeauxTigers0107 · 1 year ago
Brings back the not-so-long-ago memories of the title game last year and a certain t-shirt that came out....I loved it so much that I had to have one. Check it out:

Those Smack-talk shirts are the best....lol.

And Elephant Man's fist is as big as his buddies head!! If he throws a right hook, the guys head flies back like a broken Pez dispenser....lmao.

Did Gustov blow you out of the gulf and back onto the mainland? Just in time for football season...
  • GeauxTigers0107 · 1 year ago
LOL...that's a roger WEA. I was supposed to leave out Wednesday but got turned around at the heliport. The unfortunate news is that the projected landfall of Terrebonne/Lafourche Parish is exactly where I live so, for the moment, we are in the cross hairs. The eye will pass right over us if all of the pundits are right. Most of the time they aren't, but there's always that chance of them finally hitting one.

On a brighter note, we are prepared. I've got 3 half gallons of Absolute on stand-by along with both propane bottles filled for the cooking so we'll keep our fingers crossed.

  • Ramblin' Gator · 1 year ago
WEA, I remember "back in the day" when all of the male Auburn students would go to games dressed up like Terry Bowden (i.e. blue "A" cap, white Oxford shirt, orange & blue tie, blue pants, and white sneakers - jeez!). Do they still do this? If so, it seems like this "look" would be a good candidate for printing on a t-shirt and selling to fans. If you decide to do this as a business, I want a cut! ;-)
  • GeauxTigers0107 · 1 year ago
Don't know about TE but I do and you say that as if it's a bad thing? Louisiana does supply almost 34% of the nation’s natural gas supply and almost 30% of the nation’s crude oil supply. :-)

    Please explain.

I spent about 10 years working in the oil patch, mostly with Schlumberger and Western Geophysical, designing petroleum exploration equipment. In that decade, I spent a lot of time offshore (3 months on a seismic vessel, 2 weeks on a drill ship, etc) though I was never, technically, what you'd call offshore personnel (i.e. I never got field pay).

I also spent a lot of time in places like Lafayette and Bayou Lafourche, where I earned my permanent love for Cajun food!
  • Zac · 1 year ago
No kidding! I was a deck-hand, chain-man, and worked my way up to squirrel, for a company called Ray Resources (Div. of Flying Diamond Oil). I was studying Petroleum Engineering for a while, and thought the experience would do me good. I even worked for Columbia Gas Transmission at one point; looked over a lot of Schlumberger well logs.
  • Ramblin' Gator · 1 year ago
I used to design downhole tools and contributed to the design of the Maxis system while employed by Schlumberger. Also did a little work on MWD and LWD.

Don't you mean dress like'Pat Dye', RG? Light blue oxford shirt, white cap, navy blue Duckhead pants, same orange + blue tie. (coughing optional...)

I thought that was like our game day uniform for the fans...

I tried dressing like Tommy Tuberville, but the long sleeves in August gave me heat exhaustion...
  • Ramblin' Gator · 1 year ago
Yep, Pat Dye is right. They say that "memory" is the first thing to go and I can't remember the second thing. It seemed odd to me at the time. I don't recall a lot of people wearing visors during the Ole Ball Coach's tenure in Gainesville.
  • Clemson_Joe · 1 year ago
Well they certainly wear lots of visors at USC now. It looks like the OBC has taken a liking to bucket hats as well.
  • Ramblin' Gator · 1 year ago
    GT, you work offshore?
  • GeauxTigers0107 · 1 year ago
Yeah man...just replied...see above. I'm a third party Safety Coordinator for Chevron.

Congrats on your win against our "ex"...lol.

Cool! Living in FL now, I don't meet many folks from the oil patch anymore (used to live in Houston).
  • Kevin @ Fanblogs · 1 year ago
Dude - we'll be thinking about yall this week. Got a lot of friends and brothers-in-arms in Lake Charles, BR, over in Gonzales, up in Logansport. May have to take a week off and head out there if this thing acts like a little bitch.
  • GeauxTigers0107 · 1 year ago
Thanks for the kind words man. Didn't realize you had ties to the Bayou state.

It's almost 10:00pm Sat night right now. I sent the wife and kids north earlier today. I'm still debating what to do. Why, I don't know...lol. But I've taken down the LSU flag from the front of the house and packed a few clothes, the valuables and my laptop so I guess subcontiously I've already made my decision to hit the road and join them.

We'll keep you guys posted on details as electricity allows.

Congrats to all those who's teams won today. In spite of the circumstances, I still managed to enjoy some CFB today. The Tigers took care of business but improvement is definitely needed. But a win is a win so we'll take it.

Keep us in your prayers fellas.

Get the hell out man. What are you going to accomplish by being there?

I'll be praying for you, and well, I guess everyone you know. Good luck.
  • GeauxTigers0107 · 1 year ago
Thx a ton Clem Joe. That's what I did. After last nights post, I watched the 10:00pm update and the picture didn't look good so I loaded up and hit the road at 10:30. Got to the hotel in Southhaven, Ms (about 10 miles south of Memphis, Tenn) at 6:15 this morning. What would normally take right at 6 hours took 9!! At one point it took a half an hour to go 1 mile....crazy.

We're safe now but Memphis isn't....lol. I'm a huge BBQ fan and we all know about Memphis BBQ so I can't wait to try some.

That's the attitude, GT. When the going gets tough, the tough eat BBQ!!!
  • OU_Ron · 1 year ago
GT, if you get bored, you can go a little south of there to Tunica and play a little BlackJack, BTW I have relatives about 30 miles from you at Southhaven, need any help, just yell....
  • GeauxTigers0107 · 1 year ago
That's actually where I'm at OU..Southhaven Miss. I did notice the Tunica sign while driving through this morning and the thought of a little Blackjack or Hold 'Em did cross my mind as I expect to be here for the better part of a week. But that crossed my mind second. Playing the killer golf course at Tunica was first....and YES I brought my clubs...lol. But only because I didn't want to lose them in the Himacane....I swear!

I sincerely appreciate the offer Ron. We'll keep that in mind but unless they're not carpentars who live in South Louisiana....lol. We should be all good over here though. Got any recommendations on the best BBQ joint in Memphis?

Beale Street BBQ, not only good BBQ, but good Blues music also, not that you would like the music since seeing where you are from...
  • GeauxTigers0107 · 1 year ago
LOL!! I hear ya Ron. I love me some blues/jazz. And seems like I've heard about Beale St also so that'll be the plan then. Thx for the tour-guide-quality recommendation.

The one time I got to go off-shore was in this tiny a$$ 2-man whirly bird. The bastage saw something in the water as we were headed out over the gulf. It turned out be a friggen huge Devil Ray just sitting under the surface. (Up until that time, I hadn't seen water that clear.) I swear, that tiny chopper could have landed on this thing; it looked to be that big.
