Well now that my Bulldawgs have 2 losses there is no use watching the rest of the season. Thank you NCAA for not having a playoff system in football. (IDIOTS!!) This is what's wrong with college football again this year. You are going to have weak teams fighting for the "national championship" (Peen State Versus Texas Tech). IT'S GETTING HARDER AND HARDER TO KEEP CHEERING FOR COLLEGE TEAMS WHEN THERE ISN'T A PLAYOFF TO GET A CLEAR CUT WINNER. For the NCAA reps to be college graduates they sure don't have any common sense do they? Seems they would fit in real well with our politicians.

I hate to tell the beloved W.V.U. fans this but I belive the only way for W.V.U. to have won the big east was to hire Canavus Meghee as the head coach and since the hired Mr. Smiley instead maybe stewart can use his new 6 year deal to get a face life and smile on the sideline more. And whats really sad is that wvu could have had back to back titles.If we had a coach that would have coached and now if we had a coached that knew how to coach instead of being a buddy to everyone I mean who can tell me that E.C.U. and a mid level Colorado team whipped our a good and stewart wants to call him self a river boat gambler.Hey pal its 2008 wake the hell up.

What a bowl lineup! Except for the Okie/Boise game. That would be embarrassing for Utah!
Ohio State will again embarrass the Big Ten with another poor showing!

First we need to get past TCU and you guys, not to mention New Mexico and SDSU.

I am not sure I know how good my team is, or rather I am pretty sure they are not the 2004 team. I will reserve my judgment until I see the results of the TCU game, or we lose to New Mexico.

I like to hedge my bets, not my funds.

How things chang, after reading all the above entrys and not one mention of Neb. Olk this week. I KNOW nEB. BEEN DOWN BUT ITS STILL A GOOD GAME. I WATCHED THESE FOR OVER 50 YEARS. NOT ALWAYS THE BEST TEAM WINS.

I would love to see a Texas/Utah BCS Bowl game. Even though I think Texas is the better team, knowing how Utah gets up for their bowl games it would be very interesting.

I would also put a 1 loss Utah ahead of Tulsa and Ball State. With a Boise State loss and TCU or BYU beating Utah the MWC could get 2 BCS teams this year, if Ohio State loses one.

If this happens and Tulsa or Ball State go undefeated it will be the end of the argument that teams should schedule Hawaii like schedules to increase the chances of going undefeated. Quality opponents matter.

With Tulsa and Ball State losses this could happen with un undefeated Utah and a 2 loss TCU, if the TCU-Utah game is close.

Imagine if Utah had not replaced Texas with Weber State on their schedule.

Ouch, we just lost our undefeated season, Nevermind.

Ben, I think TCU would jump Boise State with a win over Utah. On their resume they would have wins over BYU and Utah with their only loss against Oklahoma. Boise State has that road win over Oregon and nothing else.

Also, don't you think a 1-loss BYU with a season ending win over Utah would jump past Ball State and possibly Tulsa? Neither of the two have a noteworthy opponent the rest of the way.

My non-BCS Pecking Order:
1. Utah
2. TCU
3. Boise State
4. BYU
5. Tulsa
6. Ball State

I just saw an Ohio State team give the great PSU offense a black eye. Ohio State gets the first down that Pryor fumbles and we win that game. I was going to cheer for PSU the rest of the way, but not now. We may have not won the last two National Championship games, but we were there.

Penn State will go undefeated. What I see is going to happen though is an undefeated Big 12 team (probably Texas) and a one loss SEC Champion team will be playing for the National Championship. Penn State will get screwed out of the championship game by a one loss SEC team.

By standard I refer to a 4 year moving average.

The Big East, PAC 10, ACC and Big 10 are down. The Big 12 is up and the MWC is WAY up.

Actually, Alabama has been being voted low by coaches jealous of Saban's contract. Alabama has been lower in the Coaches poll than any other poll.

The problem is they can't justify their bias anymore. Penn State has been in the top 3 across the board no, Alabama lost some 6th and 5th place votes, thus the gain.

Why are you replying to me with this, considering what I wrote? Anyway, I think any undefeated team who is a member of a BCS conference should be ranked ahead of another member of a BCS conference team with 1 loss. Sorry, but such is life in the world of polling and the BCS. IMHO, I think the BCS should be junked and a playoff instituted, but that's an entirely different topic.

Someone tell me how Georgia is not above Penn State & USC? Georgia's only loss is to #2 Alabama. Penn State's opponents records are 31-41, USC are 30-25 while Georgia's is 38-24. If you look at the balance of the season with the current won-loss record, then, Penn State will be a 46-51, USC 47-45 & Georgia 59-34. Is there any question as to who has played & will play the toughest schedule & should be ranked ahead? I won't even go into FL & TX Tech. The BCS is a joke.

While I have taken the liberty to bash the Big East elsewhere, this post is not an example of this.

It simply reflects the fact that the ACC and Big East are in a very down year from their standard possitions. It reflects the fact that the ACC and Big East will not have a second team in the BCS.

It also reflects the fact that the MWC has 3 teams in the BCS top 20, while the Big East has none.

The fact that the totality of this situation brings me great pleasure had no part in my previous post.

lets see...in the latest coaches poll, Alabama loses their 1st place vote and PSU picks up a 1st place vote. BUT, Alabama is now 25 points ahead of PSU compared to 23 points last week. WTFIGO?

The Big12 and SEC have in their hearts that they will be playing for the NC and so they are voting accordingly.

we have won the last 3 of our BCS games and won some OOC games against some tough competition

u think you and your team has so much clout because your team beat an 8-4 pitt team in the fiesta in 04 or 03

The picture really needs to be examined by conference

BIG 12
Texas and Texas Tech both control their own destiny.

Texas has Texas Tech and the Big 12 championship left, and a huge lead that no team can catch up with. They will be #1 unless they lose a game.

Texas Tech, with a win over Texas, Oklahoma Sate, Oklahoma and the Big 12 Championship would jump Penn State for the #2 spot.

Oklahoma is in the wings. With Texas Tech and Oklahoma State left they should be able to hold their position just below Penn State. They will likely dodge the Big 12 championship.

Oklahoma or Texas will likely fill the second Big 12 slot.

Kansas or Missouri will get an opportunity to steal a BCS spot in the Big 12 championship game.

SEC
Alabama has LSU and the SEC Championship game left.

Florida and Georgia have each other left and the SEC Championship game left. Florida has ranked FSU also, which should be worth about what the current difference between them is worth. This would put either of these teams just behind Oklahoma.

One of these three teams will be the second SEC team in a BCS Bowl. This will likely be the Alabama or the Florida-Georgia loser.

Big 10
Penn State needs either Texas or Alabama to lose, but both have huge tests ahead. They should expect a BCS NC if they win their games. Michigan State is the only team they have left that may be ranked.

Ohio State can hold on and earn a second BCS slot for the Big 10, unless they lose a game.

PAC 10
Oregon State and California control their own fate for the conference title. Oregon State has already faced USC so they have the easier road.

USC and Oregon also can claim a share of the conference title. USC would win the BCS tie breaker on anyone in the PAC 10.

No team can get into the top 14 without beating USC to earn the conference a second BCS bid.

USC would be behind any of the teams mentioned in the Big 12, SEC and Big 10 discussion, other than Ohio State, Kansas and Missouri.

ACC/Big East
These conference races are wide open and the conference title is the only chance these teams have at the BCS. An unranked team from a conference without an automatic qualification could go to the NC before the winner of these conferences this year.

These teams will play in a very traditional Orange Bowl game.

Other
Notre Dame is starting to accumulate points in the ORV column. With a win over USC they could get into the top 14 to be BCS eligible and get an at large BCS bid.

Utah controls their own fate. If Utah loses Boise State would likely control their own fate. One exception might be that TCU could pass Boise State if they beat Utah. After TCU, Tulsa and Ball State sit in wait. Utah might not fall below Tulsa or Ball State with a loss to TCU or BYU. BYU also has a slim chance at the top 14 with a win over Utah.

The top 14 is important because you need to be in the top 14 to be BCS eligible. If Ohio State and Notre Dame both lose a game, a second of these teams may be the only eligible team for the final BCS slot.

Bowls
Penn State and USC will be in the Rose Bowl unless one or both go to the national championship game. If one of these teams go to the title game the Rose Bowl would get Ohio State or the #2 team from either the SEC or Big 12, whichever does not go to the title game.

The Big 12 champion will go to the Fiesta Bowl or the national championship game. Likewise for the Sugar Bowl and the SEC.

The Orange Bowl, as indicated above, will likely return to its ACC vs Big East roots.

This leaves one at large each for the Fiesta Bowl and Sugar Bowl. If the Rose Bowl takes Ohio State to replace Penn State, the SEC #2 and Big 12 #2 would meet in whichever bowl did not get its conference champion. Utah, Boise State, TCU or one of the others would get the final spot.

If Ohio State and Utah/Boise State/TCU are the choices for the Fiesta/Sugar bowls I think Utah/Boise State/TCU go to the Fiesta Bowl and Ohio State to the Sugar Bowl.

BCS CG: Alabama vs Penn State
Rose Bowl: Ohio State vs USC
Orange Bowl: FSU vs West Virginia (Doest it really matter who wins the ACC of Big East)
Sugar Bowl: Georgia vs Oklahoma
Fiesta Bowl: Texas vs Utah

The irony of Utah having removed Texas from the schedule this year, under the urging of Urban Meyer, would be priceless.

Note: If Ohio State loses, replace Ohio State with Oklahoma and Oklahoma with Boise State

Utah
Boise State
TCU (With win over Utah)
Ball State
Tulsa
BYU (With win over Utah)
