Fanblogs.com: Which teams had the easiest road to a bowl?

We interup this thread for a fly by Hyjacking. Actually, I'll be flying out to visit w/family tomorrow. It'll be the 1st Christmas w/o my dad. Ye may not find me on line for a few days. So, to one and all, blessed holdiays to you and yours. May our troops be safe and come home soon. And, may the New Year, throughout the year, find each and everyone of you well.

So, Pitt had a comparitively tough schedule on its way to a bowl; Cinci's was apparently even tougher. Maybe the Big East isn't as bad as all that, competitively speaking, that is.

Utah always gets #6, every poll, every ranking...

I am not sure how Boise State gets in and TCU gets out, Olahoma vs Oregon, WAC vs MWC...

[EDIT] Oh, his is that win factor thing that one guy went on and on about earlier this season. It only includes games you won, so Oklahoma and Utah don't count for TCU.

That really is a great article. I find it very interesting where he mentions that 6 teams made it to a bowl game without beating a winning team. Those 6 are:
    Northern Illinois
    Memphis
    Kentucky
    Florida Atlantic
    Minnesota
    Troy

I really wish I'd read this (or done my due diligence) before I picked Troy only to watch them pathetically fall on their faces.

They lost to southern miss in ot that isn't pathetic.

at least not for a sunbelt team.

Letting a team ranked #80 in the Sagarin with a total win loss of defeated opponents of 30-43 take you to overtime isn't pathetic? Not only did they do that, but they lost.

Maybe you didn't watch the game, but Troy looked terrible. It reminded me of watching a Big 16 South Carolina HS football game (equivalent to 5A in most states). College bowl teams should be better than that, and they weren't. It made me sick to my stomach to watch knowing that I picked them to win.

Sunbelt still. hey they hung around with LSU in fact dominating them for three quarters... and I posted below:

"Florida Atlantic has a winning record now that they won the bowl and Troy beat them so there is that. Not saying it wasn't an easy path for Troy just a little more difficult than at first suggested maybe?"

Is anyone else hearing Jim McElwain-Alabama's OC- to New Mexico State?

Not good for the Tide...3 Offensive Coordinators in 3 years, new OL, new QB...

Just read that he is not on the short list

Texas got totally screwed - soundly beat oklahoma on a neutral field and they put Oklahoma in the title game. Go figure?
